    I guess I'm usually a fan of the underdog. My biggest complaint is with Mr. Steinbrenner - as he usually tries to field the best team that money can buy. And it bugs me that it doesn't work with the Mets!!

    Probably hate is too strong a word - how about I desperately dislike the Yankees - a Lot!!

    Good Morning Mark, Dan, and Donna!

    Donna, I haven't actually counted how many blocks it is from here to 'the corner', but I am guessing 6 or 7. Isn't that neat?

    I am going to grab a bite of breakfast (and on this diet, I DO mean a BITE)! :rolleyes:

    Then I will be outside to do the 'daily' clearing of leaves. If we don't, they will pile back up to the monumental task we had before.

    I will be popping in and out. :D

    And "YES" - I am a New Yorker.

    Born in New York

    Spent all my grade school and secondary school years in New York.

    Lived in New York all my life - except one semester in Clarks Summitt, PA.

    Avowed fan of the New York Mets since 1962 - their inaugural year!

    Work for New York State (secular job).

    Cheer for New York State's only professional football team - the Buffalo Bills.

    Have my burial plot all chosen - in New York State!!

    Children all born in New York State!

    Grandchildren all born in New York State (so far).

    Children all educated in New York State.

    Still desparately dislike the Yankees - a lot!!!

    Steinbrenner is from Florida - good enough reason to hate the Yankees - or is he from Atlanta - that would also be a good reason!!

    Another BOY HOWDY lovely fall morning to my cyberfriends. Hope all the Calli is not gone. :cool:

    Oh the inhumanity. Yankees squeeked one out for a narrow win, and the one week there was no evening service at church (because of an afternoon business meeting) there was no NFL football so that I could ENJOY sports. Cruel fate. [​IMG] [​IMG]

    Dan - when speaking of baseball it is always "evilyankees". In the civil war it is always "yankeescum". Adjectives are inextricably linked to the noun.

    Kinda keep this post hush-hush, since Barnabas is back and you know how he is about the "Big Horse Biscuit", er, "Apple". :eek:

    When people here stop by the little diners for coffee in the mornings and talk it's usually about farming and rarely about sports.

    Bought a new tractor
    going to plant more corn next year
    taking a few hogs to market this week
    what brand seeds you using anyway?
    going to get that tobacco stripped before it snows? If it rains and I can get it to come in order I will.

    Bought a new tractor - to compete in the tractor pull (sporting event)!

    going to plant more corn next year - Need more feed - to raise bigger better cattle for the rodeo!!

    what brand seeds you using anyway? - We need a bigger producer - so we can make more hi-tech fuel for NASCAR!!

    going to get that tobacco stripped before it snows? - Cause then I'll be too busy skiing!!

    If it rains and I can get it to come in order I will. - Rain don't bother real men - when it comes to football - and real women - when it comes to soccer!!

    I am not a footbal fan. Prefer socker myself. I used to be a goaly in my younger years, and was pretty good at it [others said so - not trying to tute my own horn [​IMG] ] [​IMG]

    Just got back from the hospital, where I picked up wife #1. She had a colonoscopy test. She passed it with flying colors, and the doctor said she need not return for at least 5 years. PTL! [​IMG]
