Good morning all!

Blackbird - thanks for the heads up! I put on my flack jacket - so let her fire at will - cause if she got lucky and hit my head - you can't hurt what is empty anyway!

Dan - see my comment somewhere about being a kindergarten dropout!

Ed,

It was 11 at the bank in South Hornell - on my way to work this morning.

Even though Jim says it's warmer up north in his neck of the woods - I still think that he uses a different temperature scale than we do!

Dan - it's too cold for me!

It was very cold here this morning at -8c (which I think is 18f) with a wind chill factor of -18.
Which makes us warmer than Dan at 11f. Oh to live in the balmy north!

Cheers,

Jim

Jim,

How much farther north would you have to go - before it quit being balmy?

Dan - just a questioning soul!

Well here it is almost noon and I'm just checking ing! All that excitement of C.J. hitting 1,000 last night... LOL

How is everyone this morning? Hope you're all inside and warm. It's up to 24° here. I had to run to Wal-Mart to pick up a refill on Nick's allergy meds and the wind came whipping round my car... YIKES... BUT, again, I'd rather have it cold than hot and buggy.

Jim, do you get many mosquitoes in Canada? I remember camping in Quebec and a problem with biting flies but that was many moons ago and the Ranger had said it was not the norm.

Dan, Was the story about the India fella and the cement under the bridge true or were you entertaining us?

Shhh.... Is Dr. Bob up YET?

HI Sheila! Hi Gwyneth! Hi Sue! Hope you're all having blessed days! Still praying for Shawna and for your mom, Gwyneth!

WHO'S MAKING ALL THE RUCKUS??

Of course I'm up, but the wife doesn't leave for the Clinic until 9:15 each morning, so we are up and have breakfast and fellowship and I don't get on line like you EARLY BIRDS!

And Boy Howdy to all!

Diane, It is warmer in Casper than Atlanta??

We are at 35F (9:00 am) and climbing. Amazed that Monday we set record low at -23. But we are gracious and sent it to share with the rest of America!

Well I hope it was entertaining!

But, yes, it is true, every word of it!

From time to time - when I tell it - it gets a chuckle or two.

Dr. Bob,

If you didn't stay up til 4 AM - maybe you could get up at 5 AM!

Dan - an early bird - but not as early as Sue!

Sue-it wars right down cold this morning, for Georgia anyways. It's supposed to freeze tonight. I'd better wrap my water tank.

Good morning folks! Glad to see you all up and happy.... although being happy is a relative term. The world pushes happiness at you at every opportunity (being that a cigarette or a beer commercial). But they fail to realize that happiness is due to circumstances, but true joy comes from the heart where Jesus dwells!

Please remember to pray for Sue, as she is driving 400 miles today to her daughter, Shawna. As you may know, Shawna is undergoing surgery tomorrow, the 8th. May the good Lord be with Sue as she travels all by herself, guide the hands of the surgeons, and administer complete healing.

Jim, do you get many mosquitoes in Canada?
_______________________________________________

If you visit the average hardware shop in Canada, go to the varmint corner and you will see Mosquito Foothold Traps. We practice live release in a safe area,,south of the border.

A group of Americans, hunting in the woods near here, lost one hunter. They were told not to panic. He would be returned. After fifteen minutes, four mosquitos could be seen air-lifting the hunter to safety.

Cheers,

Jim

Gib,

If you use your only blanket to wrap your water heater - how are you going to keep warm?

Dan - owner of many blankets!

I have a "memory quilt" that is now my favorite.

I collect T-shirts in my travels, but many are poor quality, shrink (not that I have grown) or get stained. My wife, surreptitiously, sent a dozen to my daughter, who made a quilt form them.

So on a blue background are 18" squares from each shirt.

"I Climbed the Great Wall"
"Masada Shall Not Fall Again"
"Mazatlan"
"Attitude"
and a host of islands, nations - all in bright colors from Jamaica, Bermuda, Curacao, etc

Warm with memories as well as batting!

Thankful

What a wonderful idea!! I used to collect coffee cups when I traveled. Then I would have fond memories of the places when I drank coffee.

I have a large collection of T-shirts also. This is a great project for my granddaughters. They are in to quilting.

Hello C4K, and welcome back! So, how is Paris nowadays? I used to live in France for 5.5 years (35 years ago or so), then later went back with the US Army, and visited Paris frequently.

We still love Paris - made our way to Notre Dame for the first time today. Will have to try and catch up over the next couple of days!
