All right!!!!! Everybody over to Sheila's...she's giving tours!!!!!!!! [IMG]
So "Foster" rhymes with "Gloucester"? Looks to me like one has 2 syllables and the other has 3!! What do you do with "worcestershire" sauce?? [IMG]

    What in the heck are "Horlicks"? Is it something I'd like?? (like chocolate?? [IMG] }

I was in Atlanta for 3 weeks several years ago...the traffic was HORRIBLE. :(

I know PRECIOUS LITTLE about trees other than Arizona Ash grows fast and Cottonwood clogs up your air conditioner compressor!! [IMG]

Well I think I'll be signing off too. This getting up early is for the birds! LOL. I've got the swim suit and towel ready and clocks all set. Nick's really looking forward to his 'lesson'.

Talk to you all tomorrow after swimming most probably.

Granny, I'm searching...I hadn't thought about the word "folklore" maybe that will help.

    Thanks for the suggestion.

    I found it!!!!!!

This is a site that gives old yarns, etc.

    Indian Legend

    Third yarn down...

Isn't it amazing how people have always sought to explain nature and have had great imaginations?

    Betty,

I have only one home - and often cannot find what I want! Old age (sorry that's another thread)!

Sue take care of yourself - we got between 5-7" of snow today - I'd like to send it all down to Diane.

Diane - get brave - drive to Florida - or some other remote location.

I hate the trips to and from whatever destination we are going to. I usually do not mind being where ever we are going - especially if it's to see the grandchildren!

Well here it is 10:45 and I am FINALLY setting down for 20 minutes on the BB. Long day.

Did NOT do a wedding this evening. Couple was having problems and best to let them work things out before making the final commitment. But lots of counsel and time consumed.

But time now to relax. And talk about trees? Nope. I'll leaf that to you!

Good Wednesday morning - another busy night on the BB!

Anyone who takes a trip to take a Sheila Guided Tour of Gloucester had BETTER stop off on the this little island for Roger's Guided Tour of Kildare :D .

On pronunciations - ring someone who lives in Worcester, Mass and ask them how to pronounce the name of their town.

And Horlicks - I'm going to have to buy some at the shop and try it - never have!

    Rain here again!

    Good Morning Roger.

On the pronounciation of Worcester, it is the same principle as Gloucester (Gloster), see, easy isn't it? :D

Here's a good one for you tho': not too far away we have a monastry called Prinknash Abbey, so how do you pronounce Prinknash  [IMG]

    Need coffee, back later...

    Sheila

Worcester in Massachusetts is pronounced wooster, withour the "r" sound. Was just pointing out to those on the other side of the pond that even some of their states use "different" pronunciations. We really ought to get them to try and pronounce some of the Welsh towns, huh [IMG] ?

I am well able for "most" of the English town names, some of these Wesh towns give me "tangled tongue" syndrom. Some of these Irish towns took me a while to get used to as well!

Are you having the heavy rains this morning Sheila - lashing here, but 10°

Where's Dr Bob this morning - he went to bed "early" for him it looks like.

Well, I'd better get going, have a few things to get done today so am going to get a cup of tea and a bite of brekky.

Have a wonderful day Sheila - BTW your paper has me intrigued, what are you writing about?

If I don't get on before the rest of you get up - GOOD MORNING [IMG]

    Good Morning Sheila and Roger!

I don't think I'm quite awake yet! It is 5ºF here this morning....another brisk day!

CJ: Sheila could explain it better than I, but here is what I found on the web about "Horlicks". It sounds a lot like our "Ovaltine".

    £2.99
    Horlicks Chocolate Malt Drink 500g

    £2.25
    Ovaltine 400g
Malted Food beverage Original Ovaltine Hi-Malt Drink Just add Milk Microwaveable. Ovaltine is available at stores in the USA.

Here is URL to an on line store to order both of these products. Both are healthy, nutritious, and supposedly, a good sleep aid.

    http://www.britstore.co.uk/itmidx13.htm

I have never had Horlicks, but I used to drink Ovaltine all the time. Come to think of it, I haven't seen it in the stores lately!

Sheila: What would £2.99 be in US currency please?

I think I'll go grab me a cup of hot cocoa. This post has left me wanting chocolate. [IMG]

Good morning all! Sue, a British pound is equal to (according to the current market) $1.837, therefore, the 2.99 pound will be $5.49. [IMG]

    Good Morning Barnabas!

You are up and about early this morning! It is good to see you! Are you still on your 'old' computer?

WOW! I think I'll skip the Horlicks for just now and buy some Ovaltine at Wally World! ;)
