The hardest thing for a parent to do is submit to the will of God when a child is involved. I spent a lot of time at the children's wing of the local hospital when I was a pastor. To see the eyes of the parents, and the faith of the children, was always something to behold,,,,,and remember.

    Cheers,

    Jim

Sounds like a great message Diane. God's will will be done, we will be much happier once we accede to it.

I preached a message called "Freed to be a Slave" from Galatians 5v13-15. Ouch! What a convicting passage!

Boy Howdy from sunny WARM Wyoming (35F and climbing; it's just 1:00 pm). Just got home and poured a cuppa Calli tea to soothe the throat.

I get a little loud when I preach and the voice is sore. Spoke on Genesis 4 at the Free Church at 9:00 am then on Hebrews 13 at the Alliance Church at 11:00. Thankfully they are just 3 miles apart!

Putting the feet up. Appreciated those upholding all us preachers this Lord's Day. Wife is fixing roast and I'm watching NASCAR. THAT is a religion to some folks on Sunday afternoon!

HI all, I took a nice nap. Haven't been sleeping well because of Jim's cold. Now my cold has worsened a little and my throat is sore. Really needed that rest!

Boy is it ugly here today! It's 38° with some frozen type rain. We're supposed to see some wet snow this afternoon and it'll be cold tomorrow but Thursday and Friday it's to be mid 60's!

Well, almost got back my new computer - but not quite. Our daughter could not come over, and it will have to be tomorrow evening. One more day I can take, but not more.... Thank you for missing me. It's good to be missed! [IMG]

Say, how do you like the C&MA Church? I preach quite often in a C&MA Church nearby. Wonderful place of fellowship for me. Keswick, you know.

    Yooo hoooo!!! Hi y'all!!

Jim, not sure I'd call it "fun"...seems BB has gotten a little vicious lately. Sad to see for a Christian board.

What's a "C&MA" church? (Born and raised Southern Baptist here...don't get out much!)

Have had a lovely afternoon...just enjoying the day! Took a little nap, listened to some music, and just generally enjoyed the Lord's Day!

Must head back to work tomorrow, though...all good things must come to an end!! All the snow has melted, even the snowmen I saw in some yards on the way to and from church this morning. Oh well...it was really pretty while it lasted! True SNOW, no ice like we usually get!

    Evening All;

Good to see you back Dr. B.!

Just knowing that you will be here until about two hours before I get up makes me feel easier about going to bed...knowing the BB is well protected! :D

Seems like some folks don't need a full moon to act up anymore!

    Pleasant dreams all!

AB Simpson (look up songs he wrote in your hymnal) founded this group of breakaway from Wesleyan tradition who emphasized deeper life, bible study and missions.

The Christian Church and Missionary Church merged to the Christian and Missionary Alliance. They are not "militant fundamental" and would tend to be "inclusive", not "exclusive" like most Baptists (work with other groups, etc)

They would be strongly evangelical, a little leaning toward arminian (leaving eternal security an "iffy" issue) and super strong on missions. Think Wesleyan or Assemblies, but without the tongues type nonsense.

Christian and Missionary Alliance. If you are familiar with the writings of A.B. Simpson (the founder of the C&MA) http://www.cmalliance.org/whoweare/history.jsp

or A.W. Tozer, also a C&MA pastor, you will know the C&MA.

    Cheers,

    Jim

I found the C&MA website to be just full of wonderful information for Missions Conference and Missions emphasis planning.

Happy Sunday to you all [IMG]

My son took a pic of me in November. He did as good a job as one could do, I think, so that I could get my pic on here, and be like so many of the rest of you.

I keep bugging the webmaster to post it, but to no avail. Bribery is unChristian-like, so now I must see if any of the rest of you know the trick. Perhaps a secret BB password? :D

Most of the C&MA pastors I associate with are calvinistic. They have a different background and I think they used C&MA just for affiliation purposes.
