Wow.... me neither! I didn't get to sleep til well after 2:00 a.m. and then was up before 8:00 a.m. I wait up for Jim (after midnight) and then we begin to talk. Trying to figure out what we're going to do is making me ill. I'm with you, Sue! We can't seem to change the circumstances so we need to stop trying to!

1 Corinthians 16:9 "For a great door and effectual is opened unto me, and there are many adversaries."

(9 There is a real opportunity here for great and worthwhile work, even though there are many opponents.)

Mr 10:14 But when Jesus saw it, He was greatly displeased and said to them, "Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God.

Good morning.

When my mind works overtime, I am up and down all night. Normally, I don't have any difficulty sleeping, but rather keeping awake. I do feel for those who have great difficulty sleeping. I do not watch exciting television after ten at night, and do not engage in reading heavy books. I find these things troubling with sleep. A light snack seems to rest the stomach. Now to solve the problem that seems to hit us all in senior years.

Cheers,

Jim

Good morning Dan, Diane, and Jim:

I haven't slept well the last few nights.
Probably because the house is so warm.
Dan: That's not my problem. I have a window a/c in my bedroom.

I'm with you, Sue! We can't seem to change the circumstances so we need to stop trying to!
Diane: I DO try to. I give the problem to God every five minutes, and take it back every six minutes.

When my mind works overtime, I am up and down all night.
Jim: That is my problem! My body is exhausted, but my mind is going 100 mph! The "peace that passeth all understanding" is eluding me.

Don't drink any liquids for 3 hours before going to bed...

The hardest sermon to digest is the one we preach to ourselves. Other sermons always have a lesson for someone we know.

I am one of those last minute sermon writers. I prepared the morning sermon Saturday night and the evening sermon Sunday afternoon. Is was not that I didn't think about them all week, but it was a pattern I developed during school days, when time was always at a premium.

For most of my life I got three hours sleep a night, and this did not trouble me. After my strokes, I was off by 11:00 each night, and have had no difficulty sleeping. I came to the observation that through the years I did not train my mind to obey my body and vice-versa. When I brought these things into perspective, things balanced out.

My life unfolds whether I plan it or not, so I learned to take each day and each event as it happens.

Cheers,

Jim

Amen!

It is so hard to see a member of your family heading down the wrong road and have to just stand by helplessly - knowing that they will reap what they sow... :(

My life unfolds whether I plan it or not, so I learned to take each day and each event as it happens.
It is just so difficult for me to watch events happening which I know will lead to destruction. I want to 'fix' it...

Sometimes we must let go, and let God. We can provide a road map, verbalize directions and even point in the right direction. Ultimately, the driver is making the decisions.

Cheers,

Jim

I am praying too.

Boy Howdy from cool, cloudy, damp Wyoming. 48F an drizzle. I have a wedding along Garden Creek at 5 pm (and counseling session for another couple at 7 pm) so praying it will not be so gloomy.

Sure don't mind mid June and NOT hot. We never have humidity where you stew in your own juice, but we DO have oven-like heat.

Trust all are having a great day!

I don't think I've posted on this thread before. Dr. Bob, my sister Bev is just getting back to Casper after a week in Texas. She probably won't mind the coolness! I'm going to give her a phone call sometime today.

A wedding on a Wednesday? That's a little unusual!

Not in the oil patch! Men work very odd shifts (usually 4-5 days on a rig in the middle of Nowhere, Wyoming, then home 3-4 days) so opted to get married on the first day of a "home" shift + vacation time following.

Most of my weddings are "blended family" affairs, second marriages. This one has 4 teen-aged girls - two from each side and all will live together!!

Actually feel sorry for the poor devil. The estrogen level he's walking into . . .

BTW, just dropped to 45F. This does not bode well.

Wow, this day went fast!
The girls all had their dental check-ups today and they're doing good, no cavities.
The oldest one has some possible beginnings, but not enough that they need to see her back or do anything about. She takes the best care of her teeth out of anyone here, and has the most problems. :( On top of that she had antibiotics when her tooth buds were forming and it stained them with yellow streaks. Dr.'s should tell you these things before they perscribe!

It's still FREEZING in Wyoming. 2 pm and 46F. I just called the bride and suggested an alternate site, but she wants a wedding by the creek.

I'm figuring out ways to keep this puppy SHORT!

It's STILL hot here in Georgia and it STILL looks like rain but nary a drop in Villa Rica yet! It's so muggy that it's made me cranky! I don't GET cranky! Heat index is 93°

Nick had an allergist appointment today and had a mosquito bite for show and tell. Thankfully it never got bigger than a dime and there was no localized swelling. In fact, in the last 12 hours, the size has lessened and it's been just 48 hours. Dr. is going to alert Singulair about the drug working for bites!

Would you believe I forgot tonight is church!!!! I had to quickly find a lesson and craft! I'm going to give the lesson on the Prodigal son and we're making pigs with googlie eyes, pipe cleaner pink tails, etc. They're actually made from 8 pieces! I started them for each child and then put the extra pieces in a baggie for each child. We'll glue a Bible verse on as the 9th piece. They're really cute but it took me several hours to prep for 12 possible kids! I always try to have more than I would ever need. Must have a bunch of mix and match crafts down in our rec room. LOL. Hey.... One night I should get a helper and have 'You Choose' craft night and a lesson on Choices! Hmmmmmm.....

Diane, that sounds like my whole house....

Between my daughter and I, with personal crafts and stuff for the kids in Sunday School and VBS. Never know where you'll find a bag of yarn, cross stitch, needlepoint, box of beads, glue, glitter, paint, popsicle sticks, feathers, fun foam, felt, magnet backs, ... you get the picture.
