    Blackbird...

Leo (dogs name) has seen off staffies before now. He may only be just over 8 lbs in weight but he is a very bold lil dog. :D

    Daisy, Jim's dog looks lovely.

Good Morning everyone. Have a great day in the Lord.

    Good morning all:

What a short night! I slept good, but not for very many hours!

Going to be another hot, muggy, day here with a chance of thunderstorms. I hope they hold off until after VBS is over at noon!

I need to wake up! I'll be around...

    Good morning all!

Slept well last night till 3:30AM - then had something on my mind that I need to do and did not get back to sleep!

Think I'll be tired all day - today!

Morning all, we have a busy morning so I won't be around much. It's still hard to type without my sore finger. Guess I really did need stitches. Too late now.

Hope everyone has a lovely day and GREAT VBS's!

Thank you, Brother Barnabas. It wasn't so hard was it. Good lesson on ot giving up too soon.

Thanks for the thoughts about Canada Day, Sue, but it is early. Canada Day isn't until July 1st. To-day is election day, however, and we may put a new party into government. Now that would be a party to be sure.

    Cheers,

    Jim

Thank you Sue - are you sure you're not a citizen of our neighbor to the north?

No, but I'm a neighbor of our neighbor to the north! :D

I'm sure Jim can give you much more info than me.

I have to run to the store since I will be feeding 3 boys (Brent 10, Seth 10, Noah, 8)breakfast and lunch all week and supper on Wednesday (they will be going to church with us and spending the night).

I will have them from 4:30AM until 3:30PM every day, but they will be in VBS from 9:00AM until noon......gives me a break!

    TTFN!

Actually, Sue, you prolly have as much information as me. We don't make a great deal out of these holidays up here. It does not have the same importance as the 4th of July. We should be more patriotic, but Canadians really are universalists, until someone knocks us.

    Cheers,

    Jim

Boy Howdy from Casper. Partly cloudy and 56F here on non-canada day! Looks like another magical day in the Mountain West! Too bad I have to work 1-6 at the wife's clinic. Sure wish her office manager would get back.

36% of Canadians polled said they believe that Canada will merge with the USA by 2040.

That is amazing stat . . and I hope incorrect.

But such is the perception living next door to the world's bully.

    Hello everyone,

We have been out today, showing some Dutch people round the Cotswolds. We included lunch, a traditional ploughman's lunch and a country pub and then afternoon tea at a Christian book shop in Cirencester. We used Sam's new camera so we need to download pics to his laptop in order to be able to access them. Driving through the narrow country lanes we came across fields of poppies. A wonderful sight.

I hope you all are having a good day too.

    God Bless

The late former prime minister John Diefenbaker once said, Dogs know what to do with poles. I wouldn't take any such poll seriously.

The fact is, we are close to the USA in many ways. We have no options. Despite the size of the USA, we are interdependent. At the same token, we think differently as a nation. We have great inter-personal relations. We are certainly not the British nation we once were. Multinationalism has always made up the fabric of Canada, even when we had strong British ties. This is changing and the veil was rent when our Canadian Charter was home grown and BNA was essentially dropped.

It is my personal opinion that Canada is the greatest country in the world, despite its many flaws and lack of population given its size. I won't be alive to see 2040, but in this year 2004, there would have to be some dramatic changes in the political climate to see a geographical and political connection between Canada and the USA.

    Cheers,

    Jim

    Hello.
I just got my notice of suspension for my drivers license, in the mail.
    OOPS!
I posted before whining that I was "randomly" selected and sent a notice from the BMV to send in proof of my insurance. I mentioned I wasn't thrilled but I seriously didn't mean to not do it! I ended up completely forgetting.
Oh well. I'll send it out today. The silly thing is I just renewed my license a few weeks before they sent this and showed them proof of insurance then, and I was stopped last week and showed the officer proof of insurance then too, so it's not like they shouldn't know I have it!

Hope everyone's having a good day. It's raining here, and it wasn't supposed to. Hrm.

    Gina
