Morning all! Jim got in really late. They had a Steinway Regional Meeting and Dinner but he and his manager arrived late because a family came in and bought a piano from Jim at closing time. That's the 3rd piano since Sunday that he's sold! He still got 'fed' and enjoyed his meeting. Today is a training class and the the Roger Williams meet and greet. Jim has tomorrow off and Ty's grandparents are coming in from Birmingham this afternoon so I won't have him tomorrow. I'll still get paid for the full week tho. He always is off on Friday except emerencies. So, I can sleep in til Monday ;) ;) I'll still have the other 4 plus Nick so Jim is planning on taking Nick off for a father/ son activity.

At MIDNIGHT... here comes a fire engine and ambulance. A house about 3 - 4 door down had smoke pouring from it. That was upsetting of course....

Next Tuesday night our son and family are coming in to attend John Maxwell's Catalyst in Atlanta. They go every year. We'll keep Jack from Wed. a.m. until Sat. a.m. and then they fly home Sat. evening. That'll be a hectic week for me because there is NO school and I'll have many of my kids all day! Planning some neat crafts and activities. Can't GO anywhere because there will not be enough room in the car for even MORE kids! LOL

Tonight is AWANA and a horrible viral type illness is hitting the pre-school at church. Some of my workers have already notified me that their whole families are ill with high fevers, coughs and stomach flu. Letters were sent home from the church pre-school asking parents to keep their ill children home and to watch for symptoms.

Lots to do today! I have everychild today and we have to do homework, study our AWANA verses and I cook for them too.

    Talk to you all later!

Good Morning, what there is left of it!

We got waterlogged here in Philly last night - creeks overflowing their banks, folks having to be pulled out of cars because the water was so high. The roads on either side of the Schuylkill river became part of it, making the homebound commute a real mess. Our infamous "expressway" turned into rivers in places, with water tumbling down the hills and filling up the road at the bottom. Praise God, I did not drive downtown yesterday, but took the El. No problems there - the water drains out, and it's above the trees!

Sue, that's a great story about the cans and the piggy bank, I'll have to share that with my Sunday School kids concerning trusting God!

Diane, great to hear piano sales are doing well! Both for you personnally and for the music world in general! Is it really the season already for these mini-epidemics of sick kids? And it sounds like you are running a school of your own!

And are we through with hurricanes?

Boy Howdy and blessed sunshine today. 56F on the way to 74. Just about the right temp for everything except swimming!

Pennsylvania may be spared, but "NO", Florida is NOT done with hurricanes. It is God's judgment on people who can't vote and it won't stop until November 2nd!

Another Hurricane! Just what our country needs.

The National Weather Service has issued a warning for yet another catastrophic hurricane following on the heels of Charley, Francis, Ivan and Jeanne. Florida may be hit hard again!

The path of this new hurricane zigs and zags, contains a lot of wind, and is therefore highly unpredictable. It has changed direction every day since forming!

Experts predict that this one will cause the most damage to the United States that we have experienced in four years. They had to find a name that starts with the next letter in the alphabet ("K") and so are naming this hurricane "Kerry".

Be advised, the only way for citizens to protect themselves is to get behind a Bush.

Oh, Dr. Bob! I love it!

Ralph Nader and Petrouka won't even be on ballots in Georgia. Nader can be a write in but I've not even seen Petrouka mentioned. Makes it a lot easier to vote. ;) ;)

It's a beautiful 71° at 1:00 p.m. today with a slight breeze. Nick and Ty went outside while I was making lunch and Ty got 4 mosquito bites! Nick saw the one of his leg and rushed him in. Nick had on long pants and long sleeves so it appears he didn't get bit. Sure hope not!

Well the rest of the day will be very hectic and Jim comes in from work right after I get in from church so I'll TRY to say goodnight but no promises. Life beckons!

But Gina! I love the yolks! Pass them to me!
    ;)

Yes, I've noticed from photos that indians (Red Indians, I presume?) do have some Asian features. Over here when you say Indian, i think India indians, that's the racial group we have here in Singapore. Migrants like my ancestors, Chinese. So when you said indian, i was thinking your kids are really tanned.... [IMG]

over here we call people of caucasian, asian mix, Eurasians. One such brother in my church. His dad is chinese and mom is Irish.

I am supposing we all fall into some branch of ethnicity. What a glorious thought, that in heaven we shall be known as His and not by our racial heritage. We shall take on His glorious body and be pure.

    Cheers,

    Jim

    Good morning all:

My annual 'fall cold' has arrived! Coughing, stuffy head etc., etc. I will have to step up my Vitamin C...

Brent had a dental appointment yesterday. He needs two 'baby' molars pulled and several other teeth filled or sealed. This will entail several dental visits with the next one October 29th. Then his surgery is November 2nd. Poor kid...

I am off to check other forums. I sure don't have as much time to post as I used to!

Morning All! Busy weekend and coming week for me! I don't have Ty this morning but Jim's home and then I do have the other 4 children after school. Friday begins 'Fall Break' here in Carroll County and I'll have the children for MORE hours but really no extra pay. Lindsey has her tonsils out tomorrow morning and her mother will keep her home til next Wed. then I'll have both sisters all day. In my heart, I can't charge them extra for the extended hours since I won't have them Mon. and Tues. and I know the families budget is overly tight. The other children will be here an extra 2 hours a day, as they were before school started. ALSO, I'll have our grandbaby Jack from Wed. morning until Sat. morning. His parents go to Catalyst with John Maxwell's 'InJoy' out of Atlanta. They stay at a hotel during the week because the sessions run late and begin very early. It will be extra hard on me because of kids all day plus two little ones with naps. Jack is 21 months old. PLUS, I still homeschool during those arbitrary breaks!

Need prayer again. Jim got 'fired' yesterday and then the man called at almost midnight to rehire him. Seems Jim had a customer come in and buy a cheaper piano (the fourth piano he's sold in 4 days with #5, a grand piano, waiting on credit approval). Jim's local boss entered the sale into the computer. When he ran the credit application, he also entered the wife's information and it came up that they had been to the main store in Atlanta first but had not bought. The general manager from the main store assumed Jim knew that and had tried to 'steal his sale' so he fired Jim. Then.... it came up that the family had also called Virginia trying to buy at a lower price there. (Anyone who has talked to this family and entered info into the computer gets a share of the commission.) Jim's manager called and explained that HE had taken the info and used the husband's name since it was the husband's income they were verifying and that they had noted the wife's tie to the other store as soon as it popped up. He then researched and found the Va. phone call. Now the General Manager is feeling stupid.... and called 2 times after we were asleep. Jim hasn't called him back yet but Jim's own manager told him what's going on. Would you believe the commission total was $150! Our ability to get health insurance started this week. Jim didn't tell me anything until I told him about the middle of the night phone calls. I don't know what he'll decide to do. :(

Well, it's almost time to begin our school day and my laundry needs to be switched over so God be with you today and send His angels to keep guard over you and yours!

1 Corinthians 1:18 I know very well how foolish the message of the cross sounds to those who are on the road to destruction. But we who are being saved recognize this message as the very power of God. 19 As the Scriptures say,

"I will destroy human wisdom and discard their most brilliant ideas."

20 So where does this leave the philosophers, the scholars, and the world's brilliant debaters? God has made them all look foolish and has shown their wisdom to be useless nonsense. 21 Since God in his wisdom saw to it that the world would never find him through human wisdom, he has used our foolish preaching to save all who believe. 22 God's way seems foolish to the Jews because they want a sign from heaven to prove it is true. And it is foolish to the Greeks because they believe only what agrees with their own wisdom. 23 So when we preach that Christ was crucified, the Jews are offended, and the Gentiles say it's all nonsense. 24 But to those called by God to salvation, both Jews and Gentiles, Christ is the mighty power of God and the wonderful wisdom of God. 25 This "foolish" plan of God is far wiser than the wisest of human plans, and God's weakness is far stronger than the greatest of human strength.

26 Remember, dear brothers and sisters, that few of you were wise in the world's eyes, or powerful, or wealthy when God called you. 27 Instead, God deliberately chose things the world considers foolish in order to shame those who think they are wise. And he chose those who are powerless to shame those who are powerful. 28 God chose things despised by the world, things counted as nothing at all, and used them to bring to nothing what the world considers important, 29 so that no one can ever boast in the presence of God.

30 God alone made it possible for you to be in Christ Jesus. For our benefit God made Christ to be wisdom itself. He is the one who made us acceptable to God. He made us pure and holy, and he gave himself to purchase our freedom. 31 As the Scriptures say,

"The person who wishes to boast should boast only of what the Lord has done."

Continuing to pray for Jim's situation. Ugly times for sure.

And a summer/fall "cold" is ugly too!

Boy Howdy from 48F drizzly skies-ARE-cloudy-all-day Wyoming. Had a nice rain last night and more may come. And real COLD tonight - cover the tomatoes type cold. This will jump-start fall.

I am speaking at an Eagle Court of Honor on Saturday for a young man. I helped him with God and Country project as I was interim at his church for 16 months. Privilege to see a teen doing RIGHT!

End of month, end of quarter, so today and tomorrow I have work to do. Taxes, sales tax, Unemployment, Workman's comp, health, quarterly estimates.

Glad WY does not have any corporate taxes or I'd be pulling out my hair!!

Hey everyone. I just got back from Jazzercise. I went to the morning class, supposedly for seniors - and they were really "gettin' it"! I can't go to my night class b/c tonight, some folks from church are taking us to eat at a FINE seafood buffet tonight. They have so many entrees, but I am holding out for the snow crab legs!!! Yummy.

Diane, I am so sorry for Jim. Did he take the job back? He must be so frustrated.

Sue, hope you get to feeling better soon.

    Everybody have a great day!

I don't know Tater Tot. Needless to say, as a submissive wife I have to leave it up to him. He's been in and out today and HIS manager called a few minutes ago and Nick took the message. Jim is a man of such high integrity that being accused of 'lying' or 'stealing a customer' is very hard on him. I did suggest that he could use that as an opening to witness to the General Manager by expressing that 'as a Christian man'... I would not ever knowingly steal a customer and certainly not lie on an application to take someones cut of the commission.

I went to Jazzercize for years before I was mauled by the Akita. After that, I had major leg weakness and problems for about 5 years. I've checked and there is no Jazzercize in our town. They asked if I were interested and I have the body size they 'like' but don't think I have the stamina to TEACH. LOL

Jim's manager called this afternoon and all the employees at that store got on the phone to talk with Jim. He goes in at noon tomorrow (working noon til 8 p.m.). The general manager called while we were out with the kids but didn't leave a message. Supposedly he was calling to apologize again.

Diane: So glad Jim got his job back!

We are turning in early tonight. Poor Brent woke up with a toothache this morning and has been taking baby aspirin all day. It is much better tonight. He can't get it pulled until the end of the month - it is infected.

He is taking the antibiotic, Amoxil, for the tooth that is hurting. He is also taking the antibiotic, Biaxin, for Impetigo.

    We are both tired!

    Pleasant dreams all!

Oh me too Sue! Jim's integrity is SO important to him and being basically accused of taking someone's customer....

I only have 2 or 3 kids tomorrow plus Nick and the neighborhood boy. Lindsey has her tonsils out early in the morning and her mother is planning on taking Brooke with her. Those little girls curl up next to me and will sit quietly while I read book after book. They just love it so much and say no one reads to them. Thankfully I have many lovely books.... and know most of them almost by heart. [IMG]

I'll have the older girl and her brother tomorrow. He went to the bathroom by himself today. Jim was here and I think Max was afraid to demand I come and stand with him, wipe his bottom, etc. .....
