I can't say as how I expected it, but feel free to say what ever you want. If it's something good about sugar, I'll agree with it.

Well, now, Dr. Bob - after losing 90 pounds I hafta disagree with ya about eating sugar!! Its Splenda for me!!! But really the only time I use it at all is for a little sweetener in my occasional tea and for a desert I make about once a month. Not big on sweets.

Dr. Bob, I agree with you on the aspartame, that stuff is horrible for the brain. My hubby got really goofy and couldn't rememer anything when he used alot of it to try to lose weight. But around my house we drink tons of iced tea and I drink alot of coffee. So if I didn't use sweet n low in my coffee and help out my tea with sugar twin (with sugar) I would be the same size of my house! So I'm stickin' to that. :D

I'd never use aspartame, splenda, etc., but for another reason.
Why, if I didn't use sugar, and just eat what I want any way, I would waste away to nothing. Sometimes its nice to have a "problem" of a different kind.

I make regular use of Sweet'N Low in beverages and Splenda for baking. I have used regular sugar when my blood sugar is low and my pancreas can assimilate it. The regular use of sugar would see me in a diabetic coma, and thank you no for that...it is not a pleasant experience for the diabetic or his/her family.

    Cheers,

    Jim

PS. Aspartame is in more food products than you care to imagine.

    Good morning all:

I use Saccharin in my occasional cup of decaf coffee, Sweet 'N' Low for Kool-Aid and iced tea and Splenda for cooking.

I woke up with my left eye matted shut. I don't know if I've caught a cold in it or I have an infection. Calling the doctor today for prescription eyedrops...

Brent and I are going out for biscuits and gravy after the 'corner' this morning. I want him to have a good breakfast before he gets his teeth pulled at 11:00, not sure when he'll be able to eat again. (stocking up on Campbell's Chicken Noodle Soup) [IMG]

    [IMG] Cruising...

Everyone must be sleeping in this morning!

I am off to the corner, then we have some errands to run (to keep Brent's mind off the dentist) and then we will keep our appointment...

    HAGD!

You caught me Sue! I've been up 23 minutes because the phone rang! 10:00!!! I don't have Ty most Fridays so I can sleep in but 10:00! I did watch t.v. til 12:30. I'd fallen asleep after supper and napped for a while so couldn't get to sleep early.

I've done nothing this morning. Not even had a cup of tea or make my bed. I must get busy! Nick needs to start his schooling. I only have 2 children this afternoon. Ty's mother is working different days next week so I won't have him until Tues. at 5:30. It always thrills my heart when she comes to pick him up. He'll scream and cry.... 'I stay Mom. You stay and play too, Mom! I no go I STAY!!'

    Off to be mom!

Boy Howdy. Sorry I was not to sweet yesterday, but with no sugar . . .

A little better physically today. This has been one tough week. Still no clue of the source of the infection internally. Think more tests will be a-coming!

48F and falling. Snow to the west of us (thankful I am NOT driving to Idaho as planned; bought a plane ticket and flying the wife) and raining here. We need the wet!

I'm glad to hear you're doing better Dr. Bob! I hope they can find the source of the infection and prevent it from ever returning. How's the fever? Jim sends his best. He asked last night if you had any results back yet.

Snow... ah how beautiful! I love snow. It's 68° and very overcast here.

Hi everyone! We had a very fun "family day" (we take one day a week and designate it to be just that.) First we went to eat at Garfield's (you get to color on the tables!) then went to get the girls some closed toe shoes for the winter. Then we went to the CIRCUS!!! It was great. The girls were enthralled for almost 2 hours! And they were so cute with the cotton candy smeared all over their little faces. We were a little disappointed that they did not use the elephants this year, but they did have some baby tigers.
Tomorrow (early) we are going to Mobile to participate in a 5 mile Walk for Bibles at the Seamen's Center there. Its a 2 and 1/2 hour drive, but we have a full load going. My mom is meeting us there (gotta see the grandbabies) and who knows - Maybe I'll run in to Roy.
Hope yall all have a nice restful weekend, esp. Dr. Bob.
    Tater

Wife is abed; her flight leaves at 6:05 am and she will be in Boise by 9:15 and playing with the grandkids. God is good to allow her some time off from babysitting me. Her mom lives a mile away and will check twice daily on me to be sure I'm functional.

Or, more typically, dysfunctional. Will see YOU all in the a.m.

Morning All, I guess TaterTot is already on the road to Mobile. I just saw a post of hers from a year ago on a thread bumped to the top and see she and I were born in the same place!

Dr. Bob, we're just going to keep praying until we have victory concerning your health problems! I was just thinking this morning how it seems Jim and I fight a never ending battle over finances since he lost his good job after 9/11 and it seems you are fighting that battle in your 'flesh' / health at the same time. My heart breaks for you because I know how being unable to cover our bills breaks Jim's spirit and heart.

Revelation 3:11 "I am coming quickly; hold fast what you have, in order that no one take your crown."

Jonah 2:7 "When I had lost all hope, I turned my thoughts once more to the LORD. And my earnest prayer went out to you in your holy Temple. 8 Those who worship false gods turn their backs on all God's mercies. 9 But I will offer sacrifices to you with songs of praise, and I will fulfill all my vows. For my salvation comes from the LORD alone."

Deuteronomy 28:7 The LORD will grant that the enemies who rise up against you will be defeated before you. They will come at you from one direction but flee from you in seven.

I know about the dangers of aspartame and sweet n low, but what's wrong with Splenda? It seems to work for me, with no ill effects.

Boy Howdy. 32F windy and wife flew out this a.m. Survived another night. Used to wake up hurting and miserable and say, "Lord, it's morning :( " Now, I am thankful to be alive and get up and say, "Lord, its morning! [IMG] "

Will start a thread on sucralose (splenda) as there may be some interest in that subject.

OK, thanks, Dr. Bob. I will check that out.
It has been a quiet morning here. My dd is still in bed (so what's new?? ) but I will give her a list of chores before I go to work! Hopefully she will have a job by next week so she can start helping me with the bills. I seem to go one step forward and two steps back where they are concerned! She has a job ap in at Burlington Coat Factory, and they are just waiting on the background check to come in. She said they were going to try and get her started next week. lol! I told the lady if they were waiting to find something, they would wait a long time! :D

    Hello all:

I just dropped Brent off at Pizza Hut to enjoy his cousins birthday party. They are only two months apart in age.

Brent had his dental visit yesterday and some 'pampering' last evening. He had one molar extracted and one cavity fixed. They will do the same on the other side in three weeks.

He got an award certificate for being a model patient which entitles him to a free Jr. milkshake at Steak 'n' Shake. I thought that was neat!

I'm going to take a [IMG] until time to pick him up. Week-ends are very tiring with the paper routes in the mornings...

    HAGD!

HI Sue and thanks for the update on Brent! Brent still has his urological surgery in the first week of Nov. and we'll continue to pray for that.
    How is Shawna?

I've already had a short nap today. I was beginning to feel a little anxious and haven't had to deal with that in a long time. I'm sure it's the stress from our financial worries but I do feel victory is just around the corner. I've just come across way too many verses lately that give me great hope!

My mother will be coming through to visit in November. We'll never know when tho. I assume it will be in 3 weeks. She doesn't care for children so she'll try to come when I don't have many or any daycare kids. :(

Well friends, I'll pull a Dr. Bob and say goodnight to myself! It's been almost 8 hours since the last post and it was mine! [IMG]

Praying for you, Dr. Bob, Tony, a precious wife, Brent and Shawna, Anna, and all....

Hope those who are well will be in church tomorrow!

    In His love,
    Diane

1 Corinthians 4:1 A person should consider us in this way: as servants of Christ and managers of God's mysteries. 2 In this regard, it is expected of managers that each one be found faithful. 3 It is of little importance that I should be evaluated by you or by a human court. In fact, I don't even evaluate myself. 4 For I am not conscious of anything against myself, but I am not justified by this. The One who evaluates me is the Lord.

    Good morning all:

Papers are done and we are getting ready to eat breakfast. Then Brent will get dressed for SS and church and take a 'little' nap.

    HAVE A BLESSED LORD'S DAY!
