Hope you all had a blessed Thanksgiving holiday and were able to spend some time with someone you care for. We are hosting my wife's parents tomorrow, Friday, as well as her brother and his family from New Jersey who have flown out. You all sure have been busy in the coffee house recently! 18 pages. What happens when it reaches 20? Seems to me the pattern appears to be that Sue starts another, that so?

Greetings all, I hope everybody had a good day yesterday. My (current) job is with a janitoral firm at a Nestle's R&D in central Ohio. I had T-Day off, but I get to jump in to work one more day before the weekend, so it's off to bed and I'll check back sometime later this evening!

Is it possible to get a "hangover" from eating too much ;) ?

Seriously, I was a pretty good boy yesterday. A piece of pumpkin pie for breakfast (okay, you can start picking on me ;) ), no seconds for dinner (okay, I'm ready for the smart questions about how much the "firsts" were ;) ), and just a small piece of two different desserts at the dessert tea (yes, my mouth was running so much I didn't have time to eat ;) ).

Everyone has so much fun picking on me I figured it was best just to join in [IMG] .

Should I tell them, Turp, that we are friends ;) ?

    Good morning all:

Hi Turp and welcome to the CH! I hear you're friends with Roger? That's okay, we'll try not to hold that against you.

Roger: How big was the platter you used on your first 'go-around'? [IMG]

36º this morning with 10-20 mph winds. Mostly cloudy right now, but expecting rain to start shortly and continue for a few days.

    Cruising,

I noticed that SU! Especially when he held his arms the same way the snowman did...

Snow is not fun for me now (I have to work out in it), but I can remember when it was...

And Goodmorning to everyone else too!

I feel asleep on the sofa during 'The Grinch' last night and then when Jim woke me for bed, watched t.v. til after midnight. Still slept til 7:30 tho.

Jim's going to be out of state all next week so I have to get him to do any hard decorating for me this weekend. Think I'll 'adjust' my tree and have him put the lights on early today. I sure am hoping I don't have that one mom call me and ask if I'll watch her daughters while she goes shopping! I feel sure she will tho. She didn't pay me yet this week yet.... so she probably has 'plans'.

It's only 31° here with a wind chill of 27°. It was 28° during the night. There's frost on everything. Wish we got snow here.

All this talk about food... I ate a cheese danish for breakfast! Now it's all YOUR fault too. LOL

Boy does the house smell good! I've got the turkey picked clean and boiling on the stove for soup stock. That'll open your sinuses!

The sun came up over the ridge and it's jumped 10 degrees outside. The winds have died down to a little breezed once in a great while. Going to be so pretty today. Such a BLUE sky!

    My 'guys' are still asleep!

I am going to slice the dressing real thin and fry it in butter, same with the turkey, and have it for breakfast when they get up.

Taking Thanksgiving decorations down today and putting Christmas ones up.

I wonder how many people out there are going to exercise today? Also, how many people have some type of exercise machine that collects dust and clothes? I know we have a weight machine and all we do with it is shove things on it. LOL

Well, gm all...Mama! Meal went really good now everyone will be here for lunch or supper for leftovers lol! Thats ok! That way I don't have to eat it all. I am staying in and staying warm until later today when I go over to Mom's. I just couldn't bring myself to WADDLE over there last night. I ended up frying up 2 12lbers yesterday and gave each baggies to take home and still ended up with enough to equal a whole turkey I think. Well, at least I didn't have to do the dishes. The company did that! We had an assembly line. I cleaned off the table while 3 ladies washed, rinsed, dried, and put away. The clean up took about 15 minutes. I did some dishes while getting everything ready to go. Off to surf!

Morning Shawna, Sounds like you had a house full! Will you get to see your daughters for Chrismtas? Our daughter and son in law tell us every year they're coming for Christmas and then something happens. Erin took a part time job this week and she gets her most hours before Christmas. It's $11.00 an hour just loading newly released DVD's and putting up the signage. She works for a media company but inside a Best Buys store.

I wish I'd be able to completey decorate in one day. I guess, if I worked really hard all day... but there's other things to do. We're home schooling today too. No need to waste the day when we could take off a day when we might have something fun to do or when someone is here. I've got to get Jim's work clothes ready for his out of state trip too. Certainly don't want to leave it all for Sunday.

My mother says she's coming on Sunday to spend a few days. Jim really dislikes her so it's perfect timing but I bet that she waits until she knows he'll be here for her to irritate. She'll have to have our bedroom.... Nothing else is soft enough, quiet enough, dark enough .... and she won't like the kids I keep. I haven't seen her in 18 months but it seems like just yesterday. LOLOL I won't have the right coffee, the right 'creamer' (we don't even use it)... my clocks will all have to be stopped (they tick too loud) and any candles or potpourri will have to be bagged and put away. I can't use Windex while she's here. Fumes....

Boy Howdy to all. Beautiful white snow, huge flakes and falling like a thunderstorm! Getting more than 2 inches an hour! Went from fall (almost 60 yesterday) to winter wonderland!

Just saying "Hey", as the wife has a full day at the clinic (special patients who've been waiting to get in; she decided to open and plug in a few) and no staff for the long weekend.

SO . . you guessed it. I will soon rev up the mercury and slushy snow and put in 8 hours there. Always busy, even in bad weather, and figure LOTS of folks will be out shopping and may stop by.

God bless all - will see you this evening, dv.

Well hello Nurse Bob! Do you have a nurses outfit? LOLOL

Hey guys! I've almost gotten ALL my decorating done! Nick's been a BIG help. All I have left to do is about a bazillion snowmen! I put up poinsettia garland over the fireplace and put snowmen there and then have to find places for all the others. It takes a while because I have to move my Nutcrackers some... and always do a good dusting then. Can't dust the nutcrackers very often. They're not very sturdy anymore.

Ashes to ashes, dust to dust.... somebody musta died in here!

    Evening all:

We had Thanksgiving all over again for supper! Papers are done and I think there are some Christmas movies on tonight we're gonna watch.

Up early the next two mornings with papers. Oh well, at least that leaves the rest of the day free!

There are still about 1,000 customers without power here, so our power line is still hanging about a foot above the ground - but we still have power! PTL! They will get to it after all the other homes have their electricity restored unless the wind blows it all the way down first.

Brent wanted to know what we would do without light and heat. I told him we had candles, a kerosene lamp, and plenty of blankets and sleeping bags to cuddle in and tell each other stories until we fell asleep... He like the cuddling part. LOL

What type heat do you have, Sue? We have gas and gas logs but the blower won't work if the electric is off. The gas logs kept us warm one time after a storm tho but it doesn't get as cold here as there.

We didn't have electric for 5 days after a hurricane hit Connecticut back in the '80's. No hot water! We played board games and listened to the radio (battery). A neighbor (Milton Bradley's daughter) had filled her freezer with foods for a big to do and she had to use it or lose it so she invited some of us over to shower and eat. She had gas cooking and hot water. We ate by candles and the kids had a blast.
