I know what you mean Sue. Jim thinks I'm a saint and Jon (28) thinks I walk on water. Nick does ... most of the time... LOL I know our daughter disagrees with me on my strong stance against premarital sex, drinking, smoking, etc. but as she gets older, her views have changed. Don't know about the oldest son. He's still mad at me for having more than one child! LOLOLOL I like to tease him about it. ;)

My husband sings a little song when things get "deep."

"The farmer took another load away,
You could tell from the smell it wasn't hay....."

No tune I recognize from anywhere else, and only just those two lines. Maybe his dad made it up. Just one of those things my husband says all the time.

Like, you can't ask him to give you a hand, or he'll applaud.
Or say you need gas. He'll say "Eat beans."
He's a dear soul.

Its pretty warm here - 71. The girls and I are having a quiet day at home. DH is gone to an associational meeting and to get some popsicles for our oldest daughter (still 3). She got sick in the night, and lets just say we had to change the sheets at 3 am. She was in our bed. Poor little thing. I bathed her and slept with her in the guest room. She seems all better today, but she still gets to be "princess for the day". So we are about to watch Cinderella.

About the moms, my mother was great, too. She is a little dramatic at times, but she is a wonderful parent. My girls love her so much. I have very fond memories of picnics and other fun things she did with us, even though we didnt have much money. I didnt even know we were poor until I got older. I wish we lived closer, b/c since my Dad died, she just isnt the same anymore. But I am so thankful for her and my dad!

Well, gotta go. The Christmas tree is being undecorated! See yall later!

Hello folks,
Hope evryone is having a pleasant day.

Debby - My husband does that stuff, too.

Dr. Bob - Be careful! shoveling snow is hard on healthy folks . . .

When Diane says her driveway is STEEP, she ain't kiddin'!!!!!!! I believe her neighborhood has the steepest driveways I've ever seen. She's got a house on a hill, but a "Mansion Over the Hilltop".

Wife came out to help (she is off on Monday and planning to go shopping, her hobby!) so the job went easier. With my balance - or lack of same - even walking on ice/snow is a challenging adventure.

Our weather isn't cooperating - beautiful bright blue sky but temps never rose! Mid afternoon here and 13F Ugh. Not what they forecast (I wasn't thinking the ice underneath would melt if I shoveled the snow off).

What do you call a weatherman that isn't accurate?

Normal.

Thanks, Gayla...
Everybody sing....

"I've got a mansion, just over the hilltop,
In that bright land where we'll never grow old.
And someday yonder, we'll nevermore wander,
But walk the streets that are purest gold."

Boy, does that one take me back....

Oh I love those old songs. I had a 45rpm record when I was around 11... 'Just a Little Cabin in Glory'. I've never been able to find it anywhere and don't remember who sang it.

I wish we'd sing more of the really old hymns at church.

So, what's for supper? Nick and I are having homemade turkey vegetable soup. It's just about ready. The house smells GOOD! Yum...

Love the old hymns, too, Diane. Anything past 1750 is suspect.

BTW, Cabin in the Corner of Gloryland and Mansion Over the Hilltop are not "hymns" (but I know what you meant
)

I have a bad bout of Bronchitis so am turning in early. This is the worst one I've had for over a year. I am praying it passes quickly so I don't have to see the doctor for a "Z" pac. It started Saturday and I was hoping it wouldn't turn bad - but it did.

Coughing and pain in the chest (bronchial tubes) is really bad tonight. Of course, being out in the rain doesn't help any. I'm not working the corner tomorrow, but I will drive Brent and he can throw the papers for me in the afternoon.

Pleasant dreams all!

§ue (praying for a 1/2 way restful night's sleep)
