Morning all, what a dreary day in Georgia! I heard rain during the night. I love the sound of rain. [IMG]

We're going to move the cars out of the garage and bring in and up my boxes for all the Christmas decorations so we've got a busy morning.

Sue, I do not envy you! 10 boys for 4 hours??? It looks like they'll have a GREAT time but you've worked so hard between the papers and the decorations and then there'll be the clean up! YIKES!

Hope everyone has a great day.

hey yall/ Its a nasty day here, too. I posted in here twice last night, and neither showed up. Hmm donno what happened. It was storming terribly, so maybe something just didnt go through.

We are kinda stuck inside today b/c of the weather. DH is gone to help a smaller church in our association with some surveying in their community. They are trying to build up their church before it dies. I know they are all getting soaked today.

The girls are watching the Higglytown Heroes, and I am trying to tune it out. I guess we'll make a craft today instead of playing outside. Personally, I love rainy weather, but kids see it from a totally different perspective.

WEll, yall have a great day!!

So work real hard and you will see
That you can be a hero, just like me!
A hero just like meeeeeeee!!! [IMG]

I think there are only 10 episodes at the most, and they show each one 5 times a week.
(I'm exaggerating a little, but only a little!)

Thank goodness my kids have finally outgrown (mostly) the need to watch the same show over and over.

Then again, Bitsy has watch the Samantha American girl movie at least 2 dozen times since she first saw it about Thanksgiving. I think it is funny cause the other kids will complain about her watching it so much and then when it is on they'll sit down and watch it with her.

Basketball went well this morning. The kids had a blast.

Now off to get ready for Sunday School tomorrow. It is my turn to teach and I don't have a craft prepared yet.

HI All, we've been busy today. We got a lot of the Christmas things put away but not ALL of it! The biggest tree is still up. Once it goes in its box, it's too heavy for us. We usually get our son Jon to move it down for us. He's working SUCH long hours... 12 hour nights....

So, we finally sold some speakers and a subwoofer Jim's had on Audiogon for a long time. The guy offered us $100. extra if we'd ship it to California. We bought double boxes and those egg carton bed toppers to wrap the speakers in, the first boxes in and are going to try DHL. Hope they get there okay!

Sunday School lessons... seems like we have the exact same lessons every year! The theme is kindness but same stories.

We have a conflict tomorrow afternoon. There's a 1 1/2 hour S/S teacher's meeting at 4:30 - 6:00 BUT we also have Puppet Practice from 5:00 - 6:00. The plan right now is to start off at the S/S teacher's supper meeting and then one of us will head over to help with puppets. Nick's in that class.

Tomorrow is Dan Moran at our church. Since it's going to be such a long day, we may go to first service.

Our theme for this month is choices. Tomorrow we are choosing love. The story centers around Joseph who choose to love his brothers even though they hadn't chosen to love him. Because we have mostly boys in our class and because the writers of the literature chose to begin the lesson by talking about traveling(Joseph traveled to Egypt, his brother traveled back and forth) I'm tossing out the spinning heart craft. Instead we are going to make braided shoe laces to represent how far each of the character had to travel in order to finally make the choice of love.

My boys tend to toss in the trash on the way out the door any craft they believe is to girly for them. Maybe this one will make it home. At least it should keep them busy, here lately we've been finishing before our time is up.

I hope once SS is finished that we have a quiet day. This has been one busy week. I'm hoping that next week will be a bit quieter but I'm not holding my breath.

Same as ours but our 2-4 year old material is saying 'Being Kind is a choice' and that's the theme.

A few weeks ago the hispanic minister's child told her mother I said angels were all sorts of colors. Still can't figure it out! An angel went to Mary. Week 1. An angel went to Joseph. Week 2. An angel went to the wise men. Week 3. No colors mentioned!!! Go figure!

Last year I made Joseph in a well for all the kids. Styrofoam cups, tongue depressors and 'Joseph' to color. Poke a hole in the bottom of the cup and UP pops Joseph, out of the well. We glued 'grass' around the cups too. Too babyish for your age groups.....

So, OREO All home safe and sound? Sue, did you survive the party?

I'm TIRED tonight. We worked pretty hard today and tomorrow is a VERY busy day between regular things and extra meetings. It's about time for me, Jim and Patches to head to bed.

    Night all!

You know, our material doesn't cover Joseph in the well or the coat Jacob gave him and only speaks of one of his dreams.

Your Joseph in the well idea is too cute, but you're right, my boys would probably walk out in protest!

I think I'll go feed the critters and head to bed also.

    Night, night!

Gayla, how old are your kids? Oh, I see, you just watch the Higglytown Heroes for the intellectual stimulation?? [IMG]

We had a date tonight. It was so nice. We went to eat and to the mall. A church family gave me a $100 gift certificate to the mall, so we went and spent it. (Yes, I shared)

    Everyone have a great Sunday!

Our material is on when Joseph's brothers come for 'help' and how he is kind and forgives them for what they did. I'm not real excited about the material for 4 year olds. I tend to give them a lot more of the story than what the material thinks they can handle. BUT.... our material actually says it's for 2 - Preschool so it might be a generic book our church opts for because of the large number of children we have in ages 2 - 5.

Tater, that sounds so nice! I think it's been well over 10 years since Jim and I have been out alone.

I've got a queasy tummy today. YUK. It started last night. I guess I'd better get showered for church. Hope everyone has a nice day.

Still no report from Sue? Maybe the kids tied her up with the Spider web and she can't get loose!

    I'm here!

I was SO tired last night I didn't even get on line. I had gotten up at 12:30am yesterday morning and did not get to sleep until late last night. Papers are done!

Two of the mothers misunderstood and thought the party lasted longer sooo I had some boys for 4 hours!!!

I have pics of the boys tangled up in the spider web but I have to get them developed. It was too funny! They played that first so I could walk in the living room again!

The boys ate about 1/2 gallon of sloppy joes and ALL of the cake except for 2 pieces - it was a 1/4 sheet cake!

Oreo is home and they spoiled him rotten at the
Vets! He seems to be more loveable. He meows more because he found out it gets him held and cuddled...

He is a good jumper so not having front claws has not stopped him from getting where he wants to be.

    Gotta fix Brent some waffles,

    Good Morning all!

Our churches must be using the same material, Diane. We haven't been terribly happy about it since we took over the class in Sept. We generally use it as a starting point and go from there.

I hope your tummy gets to feeling better. I'm having an allergy attack this mornning, so I guess I'll sneeze and sniff through the lesson. I'm only going for SS today. After the week I've had I just don't have the energy for more. :(

Maybe Sue will be untied by the time church is over. [IMG]

Time to go get busy, see ya later!

We didn't make it through the church service. My tummy felt really sick and alka-seltzer didn't help. Whatever it is, I haven't been 'sick' so must be fighting it off. Thankfully, the 15 kids were very good today and our extended care workers were even early.

We've taken down the big tree and all the inside decorations have been put away for next year. The 3 deer, the tree and the lamp post plus garland and lights on the porch railing is still up. That's a pretty easy job.

I'm going to lie down for a nap. We had to move furniture back to the living room that we move to our bedroom during the holidays and I vacuumed all the rooms and did a load of wash. I'm ready for a nice nap with Patches.

    ttyl,
    Diane

Well I made it through SS just barely. I had taken a claritin when I got up this morning but by the time I was ready to leave I was still stopped up and had a little cough. I thought, oh a little robitussion cf(stuff with sudafed in it)will help out and I won't cough through the lesson.

Well I didn't cough, I nearly fell asleep instead!

I told the kids on the way home that I was going to bed and sleep till 3 o'clock and that is just what I did. I'm barely awake now, but I'm still not coughing! Maybe I'll wake up enough in a little while to cook us some supper.

Glad to see that Oreo is fine. I told you they would spoil him.

Diane, I hope you're feeling better.

    Afternoon all:

I am still wiped out from yesterday. I sat in the recliner and took a nap. Oreo slept on my lap. I got up and just picked the afghan up that I had over me (with Oreo on it) and put it back in the chair. He is still asleep on it!

We have left-over sloppy joes and that's what we're having for supper. Off to play a game of 'Sorry' with Brent.

    CYAL,

Tummy seems all better now. I took a long nap and Jim woke me and Patches at 4:10. We had a supper meeting at 4:30 - 6:00 and Puppets from 5 - 6. We sent Nick on the puppets with an explanation that we couldn't get away from the meeting. We had half of the meeting, ate and then the other half. SPICY chili for supper so either it will kill what was bugging my tummy or I'll have heartburn later. I could taste the black pepper.

Hubby's watching football now and I need to iron. I don't ever want to get behind again!

Glad that party went well Sue! I can't wait to see the pictures.

Thanks Diane! I am anxious to get the pictures developed.

This is where Oreo likes to sleep when I'm on the computer. On my lap! I usually prop my feet up on a stool I have under my desk so he has a nice spot...

He sure is cute! Patches is asleep on the sofa next to Jim with her pink mouse, fluffy ball and a tiny basketball between her paws. She weighs 7 lbs 2 oz. They weighed her before her shot Friday.
