COMMON GROUND COFFEE HOUSE #67

Yes, I leave the car running. The only thing that got cold this morning was my fingers.

We don't have a Costco here and our Wal-Mart does not have eyeglasses except the non-prescription reading glasses - so it's pay higher prices or do without and Brent is so far-sighted that he cannot read at all without his glasses.

Have you checked with Sears to see if they have a optical department. That's wear the boys get theirs.

Well I hope they won't cost a lot, Sue. It might be worth a trip to another town to get the glasses at a lower cost.

I'm figuring on a couple hundred dollars. I don't like to go out of town, because you have to go out of town everytime they needed adjusted etc.

With the price of gas right now, I'm not sure it would be that much cheaper!

Mine were a couple hundred at Wal-Mart so you're probably right! Kids tend to bend glasses too.
Sure can't do without them tho!

I want the flexible glasses like Gib suggested and I want 'scratch proof' protection on the lenses.

Brent IS very good with his glasses, but he's still a little boy...

Well, folks, I'm going to the bedroom to watch TV until I fall asleep. The papers come early in the morning.

Pleasant dreams all!

You'll have to post a picture of him when he gets the new ones.

Sleep well!

Good evening. Just stopped in by invitation. Looks as though it has been closed for Christmas break! When are the students getting back?

Sue-I've sat on my glasses a few times, dropped on the floor and had them fly out the window of my truck! I pulled over and picked them up before any car could crush them. I don't think they would have bounced back from that.

Memory flex works for me. Before, I was having to go back to the eye place, for adjustment after adjustment. But, I am rougher on my glasses, more so than others.

The students hang out in the Youth forum even tho they're quite welcome here. We just chat here and a few other threads.

Bummer. I am a non-trad student. A bit older than my counter-parts. Don't really feel like I fit in with the "college" croud at church. So I saw some posts on crochet. Any of you do this?

Not quite what I had in mind, Gib. Crochet is a method of "needlepoint" to produce things like scarves, gloves, etc. You are thinking of Croquet. Sorry.

No really, it's a Binford. Cooks the meat faster and with more power. Ask Jill, she'll tell you.

Good morning all:

Hi Christian and welcome to the CH! I hope you'll become a regular.

As for Gib, we've gotten used to him. He's a little slow and we have to be very careful what we say to him or he goes off the deep end.

I crochet. Right now I am making two afghans!

It is 12º and snowing here with the wind blowing at 16mph bringing the temp down to -1º. Gotta run and do the papers.

CYAL when I thaw out,
