I am teaching my grandson to wash, iron and cook too. (I may teach him to crochet)

When he goes to college, I don't want him starving and I also don't want him to drag home 16 bags of clothes that need washed and ironed!

Well I'll help guys!

It's now up to 17° but the wind chill is still 6°. Hubby has to be out in this today. Thankfully he has a warm car and a warm coat.

No P/S here either Sue but Nick will do his work and I've got ironing to do. I did all the wash except our sheets last night and got them folded and put away. Vacuumed the stairs (two sets) and the landings so just dusting, vacuuming and the kitchen floor for me today. I've got turkey to slice for supper. Someone gave us one of the deli packages of turkey. It's about 6 or so pounds of white meat. It's just cold enough that I might just do hot open faced turkey sandwiches and stuffing tonight.

I'm SO thankful we have an insulated garage. Jim's Saturn that we have out for sale is covered in frost! We have 2 people interested but neither want to finance it but want us to carry the note. NOT! They can take over the payments but I don't want to put anyone on our insurance or wait for their checks to arrive.

Sue, I've taught Nick some basic sewing stitches using the plastic grids used for crafts. He can cook certain meals but I stand by him because it's a gas stove.

My husband is great at sewing on buttons. They won't come off again!

Diane: I have all my washing done except sheets too!

I'm out of Tide and I'm not gonna go out in 3º weather to buy any until I HAVE to get out to do the papers.

FYI, it doesn't matter who holds the note on a car, the buyer has to purchase his own insurance (at least in IL - may be different in GA).

Morning all. It's freezing here! We actually had snow flurries yesterday but of course it didn't stick around long. Sue, do you still have all that snow up at your house?

Now, I can sew as long as it is straps and D rings on canvas or tarps. That sewing machine is not your mother's sewing machine. No, it's a manly stitching machine, powerful enough to sew the average phone book together. It must be a binford.

Yes, we still have the snow. We got some more overnight.

I have ½ of the fridge cleaned out and am taking a break! I am running out of freezer room (hit a big sale) so am rearranging and cleaning as I go...

I do needlepoint, usually the plastic canvas kind, although many years ago I did the regular canvas type. My daughter, however, is a cross-stitch expert. She belongs to online clubs, and she goes to the annual conventions/shows that come around to different cities. Her favorite is the one that stops in Hershey, PA every year. Her and I have gone twice, and I enjoy relaxing while she meets her friends and goes to classes.

It is finally winter here, and I'm glad. I like to be able to wear my sweaters at least a few times in the season.

And oh yes, we are all getting ready for those Falcons next week. Even if you don't really follow football, which I don't, you can't help but catch the excitement! Battle of the Birds!!!! Fly, Eagles, fly!!!

well, I'm not doing a thing productive. And it feels goooood.

It would surely snow if we could get some precipitation, but its very clear and beautiful here. 28 degrees.

Our dogs are going crazy today. Lots of hunting dogs are in the area.

The girls are sitting on the couch watching Higglytown Heroes and eating raisins. Its too cold to play outside.

Gotta give a makeup piano lesson in about an hour. But other than that, I'm not worth much today!!!

I really slept in today. It seems that since I have had bronchitis, I have been sleeping 12 hours at a time. Actually that includes coughing time. I guess it is the coughing that really wears a person down. I would be fine if the coughing would stop. I made it through Sunday morning worship yesterday by eating cough drops.

It is still very, very cold here, but no precipitation.

I haven't crocheted in years. I haven't figured out how to type, read, paint, cook and crochet, too. Actually, I like to knit, but I gave away all my needles and yarn.

Our Christmas decorations are still up outside. We have 3 of the lighted white deer, a matching tree, matching lampost and then garland, bows and a wreath. I'll get it put away when it warms up. Everything inside is put away nicely in the storage room tho.

My sheets are in the wash and I've got some work done. There's plenty more to do tho. I'm already looking forward to an afternoon nap. I didn't sleep well at all last night. Jim decided to get in the middle of our full sized bed and the kitten decided to sleep on the other side of me. Jim talked in his sleep and coughed quite a bit. I was up by 7:00 and had watched an old movie til after midnight.

So it is ok for women to iron and not men? I don't imagine that you are single and living away from "mum" yet? If you get into business or a position where you work with people and are required to wear a tie, you might want to get some experience with an iron. I don't hire men who can't care for them self.

What type and year of Saturn do you have for sale? How much are you asking? I sold my 95 Saturn to a student at our Baptist College in Dallas. It had over 165,000 miles and ran great! I had bought it new and it was the best car I had ever had. I am thinking about buying another when I leave NYC.
I don't finance anyone who buys my used cars. I do, however, allow them to make split payments and deliver it upon their making a final payment.
I contract with them that it will not have over x amount of miles, giving me some space to drive it until they pay it off. I also give them the option of a refund should I wreck it, or accepting it after the insurance pays and has it repaired. If they take it after an accident (which I always pray does not happen), then I knock off $200.

We still owe about $10,000 on it and it's financed at 0% interest. We were hoping someone could just assume the loan. Jim got a brand new car with his new job and the company supplies insurance, gasoline (right at work) and a car wash bay right at work. They cover everything and he can use the car for anything.

It's a gold Saturn L300 I think Jim said. It's loaded with everything except leather seats. We had two that matched except mine was a lease and had leather. We turned it in early and bought a VUE. I LOVE my VUE. It's 2 years old and has 19,000 miles.
