Termidor which is used for termites (poured around homes in hundreds of gallons) and fleas is very dangerous. Causes thyroid cancers. It's in those drops the vets use. Lots of animals are very allergic to it too.

    Warning on Crest Toothpaste:

"Keep out of reach of children under 6 yrs of age. If more than used for brushing is accidentally swallowed, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center right away."

That would be a good reason to NOT use Crest! LOL

How 'bout Arm & Hammer Baking Soda and some herbal mint.

    Moth Balls:
Moth balls are made from one of two chemicals, naphthalene or paradichlorobenzene. Both chemicals act as fumigants and must be present in high concentration to be effective - and this is the problem. Concentrations high enough to be effective are toxic to you as well.

Snakes won't come in your yard if you sprinkle them around your fence BUT they'll kill a child if they eat one!

My afternoon kids didn't come. I just took the girl home and mom had taken off to relieve dad so he could go to work. I won't have anyone tomorrow. This week I had Jack only 1 out of 2 days. Max came 3 out of 5. Morgan only 2 out of 5 and Ty left early one day. I still get my full pay for everyone. I can sleep LATE tomorrow!

All toothpaste is potentially dangerous. Have you ever swallowed any of that stuff?

Sue and Diane have both mentioned Katie's Ribs in the last few days. They have done flung the cravin' on me.
Where is the BB recipe Collection part 1? I can't find it.

    Anyone still up?

This is the first chance I've had to check in all day. I knew it would be busy but wasn't expecting it to be quite this busy!

First the good news. Son had an excellent visit with the doctor today. His weight is not quite the problem I thought it was. He is underweight but the doc said to start giving all his meds in one dose at night. That way he sleeps through most of the not hungry time and will be more willing to eat during the day. And as the weather gets better we can start cutting back his dosage little by little, until we find one that controls the migraines without his appetite being supressed(his appetite was fine until they doubled his dosage in Nov).

The second good news is that the first of the bills we wanted to pay off this year is paid off! We settled it this morning. [IMG]

The bad stuff doesnn't really compare to the good but it is agravating. Bitsy lost a lens out of her brand new glasses sometime today and it is nowhere to be found. We even searched the school for it. Nada, no lens. Walmart will just have to replace it. We haven't had these hardly a month yet. It is way too soon for lenses to be falling out.

Then just when I thought the day was over and I could relax, my sister called and said that our very good friend(and almost sister) had fallen down the brick steps leading up to our middle school and badly injured her ankle. Sis has carried her to the ER and I have second sis's 11 year old twin girls. I'm trying to get them and Precious to sleep but they are determined to stay up till they know how their mother is going to be. I've already heard stories of how broken bones can cause blood clots that can go to the lungs and kill you. Where do kids get these ideas?

I'll be up for a while if anyone wants to keep company.

Howdy! You HAVE had a busy day!
Things were busy around here today, too. First it was off to Jazzercise, then ballet for the girls, then lessons starting at 1. Tonight at 6 (when I finish lessons) I went to see one of my youth in a pageant at her school. My 2 year old slept thru it, and it was only a nap. So she is far from ready for bed. :(

Its kinda chilly here, but we have a nice fire going. I'll be glad when my stove/oven are replaced (Next Wednesday) so I can get back to my nightly hot tea!

So, I am here to keep ya company, MK!

Man, I hated it when my kids did that to me! I had a solution for it though. A nice soothing video tape with the lights off and in bed with Mama. I could doze, then in about 30 minutes when the dark and the video had done their work, I used that remote and went back to sleep. Those nights I usually didn't change beds if I was in their room. Too much chance of waking them up.

It's just plain cold here and has been all day. I finally gave it up and turned up the heat.

Second Sis had broken the tip end of her tibia. She gets to go tomorrow and get a nice cast to wear for about six weeks. Her girls said for her to get a purple one. [IMG] She thinks she is coming to get said girls and go home for the night. First Sis and whatever shot she is getting will take care of that idea. No way she can get two girls ready for school when she can't walk.

You can make tea in the microwave. Well, unless you use loose leaves. Even then you can tie up the leaves in a coffee filter and pop it in. Works just fine. You know I may just have to go see if I have some Earl Grey in the kitchen. I haven't had a cup of tea in a while and it is much to late for coffee.

well, to me, its just not good in the microwave. I always have a fear of the little metal staple blowing up in there. I might make some on DH's camping propane burner. [IMG]

The 2 year old is still playing and Daddy is egging her on. He was gone all day until 9:00 and hasnt seen the kids. We only have a tv in the family room, and I have the lights turned low and tv on softly, but she'd much rather play with Daddy than settle down. I love hearing her giggle!

Your poor Sis! She is sure gonna be sore for a while. Glad to hear she will be OK.

You're fightin' a losin' battle if Daddy is in on the act! LOL.

I ended up with mint tea. Couldn't find the earl grey anywhere. Probably means I don't have any.

Haha, hopefully the mint will help counteract the monster breath I have from eating one piece of garlic pizza at lunch today. Nothing else has helped.

Had to call second sis's parents over ya'lls way in Mississippi and tell them what was happening. Bless their hearts they were already in bed. I hate making calls like this, even if it wasn't terribly serious.

    Good morning all:

We watched "Shark Tales" last night and Brent and I fell asleep. We didn't wake up until 10:00 so we went right to bed!

It is 23º right now with an expected high of 41º and sunshine. It's a start...

I am having three - four extra people sleeping over tonight, and may have one guest stay for four nights.

I need to make a run to the store and stock up on cereal, bread, and milk (after the corner this morning).

    Cruising,
