Dr. Bob, you crack me up! ;)

Well, Vivian got to come home early today. It was supposed to be 10 hours OT today, but it was six! She goes in for another six in the morning. It's good that she's home though. I FINALLY got the taxes done and filed. It tells me to come back in 24-48 hours to see if it has been "accepted" by the IRS. Say whaaa...???

Anyhow, while we were eating lunch, we got to see some spectacular snow showers. The sun came out for a few minutes, but now has retreated back behind the clouds again.

Howdy folks!

It was sunny here this morning, but about noon the clouds started rolling in. Now it looks like the sun is starting to go down. Guess we could use some rain . . .

Hi There, all!

Daughter and I are off to the Sixers game tonight, courtesy my employer. I won the tickets as a door prize for being in the right seat at an all-departmental "look at all we've done" meeting. They are "club box" seats in the relatively new Wachovia Center. That means I'll be where you can go get a drink from the bar if you get bored LOL! Maybe the diet Coke will be free...

I'm not that much of a basketball fan, but she was sometimes scorekeeper and sometimes videographer in college, so she knows the game. I had asked my husband, but he wasn't interested. So it's just us girls.

Good afternoon everyone! I love the joke, Dr. Bob. Be sure Hubby will use it first chance he gets. LOLOL He works in a Christian company and they all love the jokes you send us.

Debby! Enjoy your game. Hubby would come and go with you if he could.

The doctor cut the wart out/ off (?) and then applied a strong acid. It looked REALLY weird. He told me he wanted me to see what it looked like so when I look at it later I won't think something's wrong. He also said it might be burning or hurting pretty badly by this afternoon or tonight and I could wash the acid off if I couldn't stand it, but so far it's just a very minor discomfort every once in a while. Walking doesn't hurt at all. I have to start putting another acid on it in 2 days, twice a day for 2 weeks. He checked my pedal pulse and my nerves in my feet and legs and they were above average (good). That's neat because I had major nerve damage in my right leg from the dog bite and have no feeling in part of my lower leg still.

Tony, ever seen lightning during a snow storm? WEIRD!!!!

Gayla? Windy there? It's HORRIBLE here!

No, Diane, the wind didn't get strong here.
By 5:30 the sun was shining brightly again.

Carl started a new job Monday, making $2.50 an hour more than the last one, and has worked 8hrs 1 day, 10 hrs the other 4 and will work tomorrow, too. the place makes ammo boxes for the whole US Military. He's been really tired and sore this week, but it's getting better as he gets used to it. We just praise the Lord for the better pay, and it's much closer to home.

Well that's great news Gayla! I know how hard it is! Jim has worked every Saturday and only gets paid for what he sells. He's working his second job a night or two each week but that 'job' ends Tuesday night after a big concert and then he waits for the next one.

I'm so glad things are picking up for y'all. Speaking of picking up.... the wind has gotten a little less strong, 35mph. It's blown over my large swing out back and a lot of garbage cans have blown out into driveways. The wind chill is already near freezing! In like a lion and out like a lamb.

Did you hear about the horrible shooting in Atlanta? Three are dead now with one seriously injured and they're searching a community where they think this guy might be hiding. The state patrol was all through here because of I-20 being so close by. Schools were on lockdown and people were warned to lock our doors.

Yes, we have the Atlanta ABC channel, and I watched it off and on from about 9:30 (when I saw it on the Fox News Channel)till about 3:00 this afternoon. They had constant coverage I guess because it was always on.
I had wondered about y'all, being so close to I-20.

Diane, I actually have seen lightening in a snowstorm...and yes, it is VERY strange!

I heard about that shooting, too, and prayed. There are a lot of people I know in Atlanta. I know that tonight they said there was a possible link to the man in the Nashville area. They think he may be coming to see a relative who lives there.

Some areas of highway have been at a standstill while they search each car. I hope he's run out of ammunition. It's so sad that all this is because they sent him to the court room with a woman deputy and without shackles.

Without shackles, I'm not sure if the gender of the deputy would have mattered much, but I sure hope they catch him quickly!

We are going to watch Monk and call it a night.

Pleasant dreams all!

Probably right Sue. We've got women running our police departments, women as sheriffs, etc. I'm sorry. but I believe a man should have transported a sodomizing, rapist, kidnapper! He got her gun and shot her in the face. She's the only survivor.

Evening all!

I'm pretty much exhausted tonight. Between 8 o'clock last night and 2 o'clock this afternoon I altered 13 costumes. Nine were very full tutus that had to be taken down from an adult small to a child medium. That was a job and a half. Pretty good pay though, I made enough to cover the heat pump bill, Precious' doctor's appointment yesterday and tonights pizza.

I hate I made ya'll itch yesterday. I checked Precious's head again tonight and everything looked good. I hope it is over because after spending 3 1/2 hours in the doctors office yesterday we found out that she is sick because of the stuff we used to get rid of the lice. It appears that she is allergic to it.

I called the school today and made a complaint about how they handle head lice outbreaks. They have not sent home a single note warning parents that there were cases of lice in the school. They just send home any children that THEY find until they are treated. They don't bother to tell the rest that they have been exposed. They don't always even check the rest of the kids in the class. GRRRRR! It strikes me as funny that the elementary school can send notes but the middle school can't.

When I didn't get any satisfaction from the principal, I up and called the superintendent. He finally told me that he'd look into it. We'll see.....Precious had better not come home with them again and me find out there were other cases and us parents weren't notified.

Diane, I did here about the courthouse shootings. Scarey stuff that. I listened to a lot of the coverage while I worked. As many people as are on it and as much coverage as it recieved, I'm suprised he hasn't been caught yet.

I kind of agree with you about this guy needing a man gaurd, but I know some women around here that are just as big and strong as a man. I used to sew for one that I promise was 6' 2" and weighed at least 250 lbs and she was skinny! I was kinda scared of her. Made sure I did my best work. :D I guess the decision of who to send with a criminal is a case by case kind of thing. At the very least though it should have been a man or two gaurds. Having only one for a guy like this was just asking for trouble.

Tomorrow should be a much quieter day at the menegerie. I plan on sleeping in until Son calls me to pick him up from church. They are having their RA lockin tonight. He was very excited. I hope the guys supervising it took a nap this afternoon! When I left they already had about 30 and some of the kids I know hadn't shown up yet.

Time for a little TV, me thinks.

Altering is sometimes tougher than making new. My hands don't work so well now, but I've sat taking out seams and hems while watching a TV show and know how tedious that is.

Worked way too long at the clinic (Friday is not my friend) then grocery shopping and supper at 8:30 pm. Did pick up some potato salad for tonight as I knew I wouldn't have time to make it.

So our "sprouting" potatos gain another repreive. Pretty soon they'll be looking like ready to cut and plant instead of eat!!

Good morning all:

A crisp 32º here this morning (wind chill 24º), papers already delivered. Supposed to get up to 35º (WOW) with snow flurries today!

The 'carpet' man is going to be here at 7:00 this morning to get an accurate measure on the living room. I imagine the new carpet will get laid sometime next week.

Cruising,

Good morning everyone:

It was very cool here this morning at 2am, but not COLD as it has been the past few days. There was no frost on Viv's windshield, and that is a good thing.

I finally got the taxes done and just checked to see if they were accepted. They were, and they should be deposited by March 25th. But, I've heard others say they've gotten theirs back in as little a three or four days. Strange.

Not a lot going on here.

Dr. Bob, you've had such nice weather up there...are you sure you've not really been living in TN all this time and THINKING you've been living in Wyoming? ;)

Have a great day, all!

The biopsy procedure went well. A little uncomfortable - but tolerable. The doctor went after the three largest nodules (apparently there are many). She didn't get enough cells on the first or the last nodule - so those two had to be attacked twice. So five pokes.

Jan got to watch the procedure - she enjoyed that - not my pain - but the learning experience. I even got to look at the slide under the microscope after the last stick.

Doctor said that we should hear the results on Tuesday.

My neck was a bit stiff last night (note - I did not say I was stiff-necked - though I am often accused of that) - and I was very tired - but that may be because Jan wanted to go shopping after we left the doctor's office.

The doctor said Jan should treat me to lunch - but we ending up eating lunch and supper in restaurants of her choice. I would have preferred Chinese! Those folks know how to make cat and dog taste just like chicken!

Morning All!
Dan, praying for those results to be okay and for your discomfort!

Sue, that's neat about the carpet. That's such a big room for such a good price!

Cindi, I'm glad you got your work done. I know you were concerned.

Tony, Trotter had told us that his sister said that all checks that are scheduled for a Friday deposit actually are made the Tuesday before. That happened with us and the people Jim did takes for so I'd expect YOURS to actually be in the bank on the 22nd.

I agree, Dr. Bob. I'd much rather make something new than try to remake something.

Pastor David... Details are sketchy but someone in the courthouse said the judge who was killed didn't demand shackles on the people he was seeing. Sounds like someone is trying to pass the blame to me. Certainly this prisoner needed to be in shackles and handcuffs.

Good MOrning all!

I thought I was going to sneak up and have a cup of coffee all by myself in a quiet house. Instead, I got to feed a hamster and make coffee in a quiet house. Then Bitsy decided I needed company. At least SHE is pouring me a cup.

Son should be calling soon for me to pick him up from his lockin. The day will really begin then.

Hmm, Diane, our taxes were deposited exactly on the day the IRS gave us. I wonder if they make deposits on a state by state schedule. Or maybe ya'll were just lucky!

Dr. Bob, I agree, altering is much worse than making something from scratch. Especially when it's not made to be altered as these were.

Speaking of making things new, I think I'm going to get started on Bitsy's Easter dress this morning. She's picked out a Sew Beautiful design that is all lace and embroidery. Best part is that I have most of the fabric and lace that I need to make it! I love using stuff from my stash.

Dan, you get a good husband award for going shopping with your wife after a medical procedure and letting her choose where to eat.

See ya'll later... Son is on his way home.

Cindi, I wish we lived close enough that I could pay you to make me some clothes. It's very hard to find adult looking clothes for my height and size and I'm also very short waisted. Things that look gorgeous on the rack will look frumpy on me because of my being so short. One beautiful skirt made me look like a run away gypsy. I've been able to get a few jumpers (like the one pictured in my profile) that fit well. They're velvet tho so can't be worn long in Georgia.
