The kids down on the corner are great. The kids next door (3 different fathers) are weird! Last summer, one rode his bike NUDE, up and down our street. His mom was more than miffed!

yeah, there were kids on our road who would jump on the trampoline in the nude. 
Their mom was not miffed . . .
But these two kids in particular sometimes would swear up a storm or tell my little sister she should do something naughty and other stuff.

Believe me.... I keep a close watch on the kids when those neighbors are here for the week. I keep going to check out the window or the front porch.

Good morning all:
I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack...
I don't have anything hooked up but the computer, the rest of the living room is still bare - go figure.
Brent and I went to Bloomington (40 miles one-way) yesterday and bought new drapes and rods at the Mall. I really HATE to drive in large cities!
We had a good time and did not get home until late yesterday evening and I was too tired to hook the computer up then.
The carpet looks beautiful!
I just know y'all missed me.

Welcome back, Sue! And, yes, we DID miss you!
My mother also hates to drive through large cities. It seems that the only one I truly hate is Atlanta.
This morning at 2am there was a cold rain here. There was some sleet mixed in, but Viv decided to try to go to work. She said the roadways weren't too bad, but there were definitely some slick spots. It's still spitting snow with the rain here right now.
I had to go back to bed at about 4:10, and got up again at 7:30. Still feel a bit "twisted" for some reason. My ears just won't leave me alone today. I'm truly considering letting the Otolaryngologist give me shots of streptomycin or gentimycin in my ear to help alleviate SOME of the vertigo that comes with this disease. Of course he can only do it in one ear, and I would totally lose my hearing in that ear. But, it might be such a relief even at that cost.
Sue, glad your carpet is beautiful! Hope it last a good long while.
Diane, that was good news about the strike ending, etc. God is good.
Ya'll have a wonderful day. I may be back on and off today.

PSBC, I grew up around Peoria (lived in Pekin), and to Sue, Bloomington IS probably a big city. Lincoln, the town where she lives is just a dot on the map! I used to go do Chicago and Milwaukee and Madison, Wisconsin and loved driving through those cities then. But, not now.

AVL oh I know that....I now live out in the country and to some folks here a town of 2,000 is the big city. It just all depends on where you are from and your perspective.

Morning all. I've been up since 5:30. Hubby's quite sick so tried to help him get comfortable but he ended up going to the VA. I'm afraid it may be a kidney infection. He gets them a few times a year even tho he's taking Septra every day.
Since Jim's company car is in the shop, he took MY car. I've got an appointment at 1:00 and children to pick up at 2:45 so I'm really in a bind. Jon worked all night but was awake so I've asked if he'll take me and the boys.... in his car. I have no car seat. Sure hope Jim gets home in time but he called and was stuck in traffic not even half way there.

We live in the South Central part of Missouri right in the middle of the Ozarks....northwest of West Plains. It is a beautiful place. But it took awhile to get used to living here. When I first arrived here I was listening to the radio and they advertised the 30th annual beanfest and outhouse racing and I got quite the laugh thinking about that and wondering what in the world I had gotten myself into. But it has been great and I hope the Lord allows us to stay here for quite a long time.

Diane, I hope the car situation works out ok. I know it's crazy . . . At one point years ago up in Maine we had five drivers in the house and like three cars.

Thanks Guys. Jim finally got to the VA but there's no parking spaces. He's been driving around for over an hour watching for someone to pull out. The valet parking won't take the car since there's no spaces.
Jon's going to take me to both places. Jim didn't think and took the paper I need to pick up Max after school so I'll have to go inside and prove who I am to get him.

LOLOL Thanks Margo. To go through the drive through, I have to have a special yellow sheet with his name and teacher's name. I'm an authorized pick up person if I go into the office and show ID. LOLOL
