Afternoon all:

Been a LONG day already! Went and got mail from the PO. Then went to the bank in Shelbyville. That branch was closed, so we had to drive 26 miles back to Murfreesboro to make a deposit. Wasn't that fun? NO!!

Anyhow, got back home and picked some tomatoes for tonight for FGT's. YUMMMY!

Can't wait! Gonna have beans and corn bread muffins, too!

MK, I don't know if Viv's insurance would cover it or not, but I've also been told about a surgeon in Atlanta who does an excellent job as well as one at Vanderbilt. Vandy is sooo much closer since it's right here in the Nashville area. The one the doctor was trying to set me up with that his father in law used won't see me because I've already been to the pain clinic and had the steroid injections. Apparently there is something that the steroid injections do to the back that decrease the likelyhood of success of back surgery of any kind.

It's very HOT here! 99 with a heat index of 110+. I don't think the air has stopped running all day long.

Tony, if you come to Atlanta for surgery, Viv is welcome to stay with us. We have two sleep sofas and she'd feel right at home. (Except she can't run over my cat!)

It's 82° here and only got to 90° today. We DID keep our air on tho!

Being a refrigeration engineer: If you have a central air-conditioner that is not working, in in all probability it needs a compressor (pump)...there is no such thing as a condenser pump.

It would be best to have the entire unit evaluated as to how many more years it would last with a new compressor versus a new unit.

A new compressor shouldn't run over $700...

I usually drive my Dodge Trucks to over 225,000 miles and then sell them running.

My "tow rig" has 330,000 miles on it (1974 Dodge Van) and it pulls a lot of weight to the dump. Pulls horse trailers also.

I buy them with about 60,000 to 80,000 miles on them at a State Government Auction in Oregon, pay 1/10th of what they are selling for new, and drive them virtually maintenance free.

Dodge owners are true engineers and have a firm grip on reality...Ford and Chevy owners resent this superiority and stick themselves with high maintenance vehicles that get low mileage usage.

Engines, transmissions and rear ends with Dodge are usually good for 300,000 miles.
