Jordan has suffered 2 stress fractures in his back. He's out of commission for 4-6 months; no sports, no lifting or bending. He has a bone scan coming up, whatever that is. He's keeping a positive attitude.

Bone scan . . . First, he'll get a shot of radioactive stuff, and 2 to 3 hours later, lay on a skinny table with a scanner just a few inches from his face will start at the top and move slowly down to his toes. If a bright spot shows up (which it will at the fractures) they'll probably focus on those specific spots and take some close-ups.
Since he has two, they're probably looking to rule out more.

Gib: How did Jordan get hurt?

    Good morning all:

It is going to be cooler for the next few days. I can deal with that. I hope the humidity is lower also.

We are going to eat at Bonanza (our favorite steak house) after church today. We haven't been there in a while and it is SO good!

Time to get the boys up for breakfast.

This is a day that the Lord hath made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.

A mixture of karate, baseball, and soccer all at the same time. Not exactly sure what the breaking point was. I know that the karate and soccer have been very hard on his body.

He was hurting before his England trip and barely walking when he got back.

Sorry to hear that Gib about Jordon.

We had a wonderful worship service this morning on Praising our God.

The pastor ended his sermon with prayer and quoted the song Praise God from Whom All Blessings Flow and then our music director sang the song a cappella. Powerful. Then the congregation sang it before the invitation hymn.

Hope you all have a great day.

    Hey Everyone!

Today was the 120th anniversary of the church where T grew up and we were married. My own kids were born into it. The man who led the church in the early 70's came back and preached a very good sermon pointing out that while things on this earth and even in the church might change that Christ remains the same always. We had quite the nice time. I think even my nonchurch going husband enjoyed it. My kids certainly enjoyed their first dinner on the ground! Our church has supper every Wednesday night, but it is cooked at the church. It's just not the same as a good old fashioned potluck meal with church folk.

Whew is it hot today! It was 100 on the nose when we came in from homecoming. It is supposed to cool off by the end of today and into tomorrow, but I can't tell it yet. It's so hot the airconditioners are having a hard time keeping up. Power bill will be high this month!

Gib, I hate to hear that about Jordon. One more thing I understand the bone scan will show is the density of Jordon's bones. It'll give some idea whether or not he is going to be prone to fractures or if this is a one time deal caused by overwork. My best friend has to be very careful because her bones are about a third less dense than they should be. I'll keep him in my prayers.

Debby, that is so exciting for your daughter! Good for her!

Tony, do I dare ask how church went for you?

    Afternoon all:

Gib, sorry to hear about Jordan. Have been there, done that. NOT FUN, but necessary. I'll be praying for him and the rest of yours, too.

Sue, glad to know Brent is home and the roof is finally going to be done. [IMG] Praise God!

    Debby, that is excellent news!

Thanks for all of you who bathed us in prayer this morning. I did not have to turn in my resignation as the deacons had a meeting this morning and decided to put this subject into a committee. It could take anywhere from three to six months minimum, and up to a year. The great thing was that it was the two oldest (one of them is the HEAD deacon) that suggested we DO search the Word on these things. My paper that I wrote will be of assistance. [IMG] They all want a copy. The one who was against it now has a copy in hand and was very congenial this morning, even after the service. It was a hard service to preach on Joshua 24. I didn't want this particular deacon to think it was an attack on him because it wasn't, and the Lord let his heart be open and receptive. I just hope and pray it stays that way. I talked with him afterward and told him that I loved him as a brother, that I was his friend even if we had differing opinions, and that would never change. He nearly broke into tears. I believe he was genuine and I believe he will understand better now that he has my paper, from the beginning of the subject to how to handle any conflicts that arise concerning said subject. God is good!

Well, I need to go and get ready. Church tonight is on the rest of the 2nd chapter of Acts and beginning in on chapter 3. I believe we're also going to start a doctrines class for all of the church so that they will be better instructed on Biblical doctrine! [IMG] I'm writing some of the materials now.

God bless, and I'll talk to ya'll tomorrow.

    T

It's 8:50 and everyone is in bed. It's 8:50?! Where is their sense of adventure? JB is whacked out, but no one else has an excuse. Even the family dog is asleep. First day of school nerves is for wimps.

Our first day is next Monday, Gib. I start back on my corner and will start home schooling Brent the same day.

Is Jordan in a lot of pain?

Well, at least he got a reprieve! I'm sure he'd much rather be in school though.

It is late for me so I'm going to bed. I have roofers coming tomorrow and I have a feeling it will be a long day.

    Pleasant dreams all!

    Morning all:

Gibbers, I'm praying...Poor kid in all that pain.

Sue, hope your roofers get everything done and it's not that long of a day for you.

It was a very hot day yesterday. It was extremely humid here, and it was hot this morning. It's still almost 78 degrees here. I cannot believe this. It's only supposed to get to 91 today, but I have a feeling it's going to be much, much warmer than that. I don't really look for it to start cooling down until Wednesday.

Vivian clocks in at 4:30am today and this week and then gets off at 3pm. That's a good thing. Now maybe we can get to bed a little earlier and she can get some more rest.

    Have a great day, all!

Cloaked in an unusual "sinister" mood for the day----Blackbird can see it coming---"as clear as crystal"----Vivian does not NEED rest---she gets too much of that already!!!

Blackbird will now develop a short list of "chores" that T wants Vivian to "Chop! Chop!" on when she gets in from her "fluff" job

    Once a week chores

Mow grass---complete with trimming around shrubs and flowers and up and down said driveway with weed eater---

Run leaf blower down drive---then up the drive---just to say you ran the leaf blower!

Measure grass the third day after mowing to see if it needs mowin' again---if it does---mow it again---if it doesn't----"gas up" and "oil up" and sharpen blade on said lawn mower to "have it ready and waiting" for when it DOES need mowin'!

Go ahead and start thinkin' about paintin' the house! After you are finished thinkin' start doin'!

Wash clothes---towels, bed sheets etc---like yesterday ain't never gonna repeat itself again!

Vacuum, dust, mop, sweep---but not necessarily in that order---but do have some sort of order to it!!

Wash the car!!! It always rains right after the car gets washed---and mercy we sure do need the rain!!!

Cook supper---no TV dinners will do---but learn how to "rival" Bonanza's "Hop Sing"

Check grass again---after all that rain---the grass grows faster than normally without a rain!

If there's any time left in the day . . . [IMG] [IMG]

Blackbird - put a sock in it! [IMG]

    Good morning all:

Shawna is up on the roof tearing off shingles. Dale and my son-in-law will do the roofing when they get off work.

It wasn't supposed to rain, but it rained for about an hour from 1-2 this morning, so I'm hoping we don't get another surprise 'shower' until we get the shingles back on!

    CYAL,

Good Morning, All. Blackbird seems to be in good form this morning with his "great" advice. [IMG]

If Vivian reads this, you better run for the hills and she probably will have lots of support from other wives. [IMG]

I guess you know that is my to do list for the day.

Well, it rained so I can't mow the grass.

I think I will just chose one and wash the clothes and later I may cook supper.

In the meantime, I will go to the bank, pick up meds, shop a little, paint a little, watch tv a little, and then take a nap.

    See you all later [IMG]
