Good Morning, Everyone! Lovely, sunshiney day here in Oklahoma!

I going to paint with friends this morning and then go by my Art display. I'm having more fun with that because I keep running into old friends that I had lost touch with.

The groomer was delighted with the painting I did of his prize bulldog. So now Muffin's painting and the bulldog's painting are hanging on the Groomer's Wall of Fame. [IMG]

I hope everyone has a great day.

I'm going to repeat something I said in another thread (Is that allowed?)

I guess I could quote myself. Someone asked about why women wear blue jean skirts. Now this is a serious answer. "The more denim a woman wears the younger she looks" I have lots of denim, but I don't have a denim skirt, just denim dresses. [IMG]

Bro. T: That is awesome! Reading your post I got the mental picture of Martin Luther nailing his list to the church door! The new fellowship sounds like a new birth from out of the adversity. Although my church didn't go so far as splitting, we have come through hard times and are being blessed because of it, a little like you folks. Keep breathin' that fresh air!

Ladies, I've got a denim "prairie" skirt from long ago. I guess it would be back in fashion now. You know if you hold on to clothes long enough, they come back in style. When looking at clothes with my daughter, I see some of the stuff that's out there now and say, "I gave 70's stuff like this away."

Debby and Sue...you wouldn't believe the relief. Believe it or not, I got a call from that particular deacon this morning and he talked to me for over an hour and a half. Uh...I think I got their attention now! It's too bad they didn't listen when they had the chance.

Sue - Jordan continues to mope and groan. He goes to the doctor today for a follow up on the bone scan. He did go to school and was a little miffed he couldn't do what everyone else was doing.

Well, I'm finally back. I know you missed me. [IMG]

I'm really proud of myself. The 84 year old woman who used to be my student..yes, I'm that old. [IMG] expected me to really paint her painting for her. When she was paying me, most of the time, she would get to a certain point and then say, "Show me what to do" She was very happy for me to complete her painting.

But I'm not teaching any more. I'm painting! My other painting friend tried to tell her that I had stopped teaching. So I would tell her what to do, show her on my painting, so she could paint on hers. Trying to explain to her that this is just a painting "get-together" not a class. I'm not in charge of the group at all. This woman is a manipulator and I really love her, but one has to stand very, very firm.

It is hot, hot, hot here and to top it all. My car needed gasoline. I kept thinking those dollars would stop, but NO, $32.00 to fill my car. At least the longest trip I have to make
is to see my grandchildren about 30 miles away...not too bad.

I had not thought about it, but one of the ladies who delivers "meals on wheels" said she
might have to stop because of the gas prices.

It is raining and Brent and I have been running around with everything we could find in the kitchen to put under the leaks.

It is keeping us busy emptying and replacing all of them.

As of right now, we have 99 containers sitting out and we're still missing some of the drips. It is supposed to rain for two days. I won't have a sun porch left by then... [IMG]

    Yikes! Sue.
It rained here for a while earlier, but I don't think it is raining now. We could really use some rain, we are very short this year. And you can tell it at the farmers market too, some veggies are not as plentiful as usual, and they aren't as nice either.
A few weeks ago I had to take my bible in for repairs, I had about worn it out, and they could not repair it and I had to heve a new cover put on. Well, where I took it is a good little ways off so I am not sure if I can go pick it up anytime soon. I really miss my bible, I have been without it for 4 weeks now. Of course I ahve a bible of the same translation I use, but it isn't 'my' regular bible. And now this week the water pump went out on my car, so if I could get the gas I could go get the bible anyway. So it looks like I will have to wait another week at least.
We have really been staying home as much as possible now, and making one trip out do more then one chore.

I just got off the horn with Cheryl and the bone scan for Jordan confirms a recent break. The scan shows the break where his 5th lumbar is fused to his hip. The doctor wants him to start some lite PT in the next week or so.

He's a little slow on the go. I think I can almost out walk him to the mailbox now.

Hey, hey, hey...Look who's back, jack! Wow, where'd ya get coloured denim from, Diane? I have some patchwork denim that came that way, but sometimes I make my own from different shaded squares of denim. Makes nice warm skirts in the winter...not that we ever get any here, lol.

Also, I remember making denim purses from my mister's old jeans. Those were all the rage at one time.

Is Sue singing "Rain, rain go away! Come again some other day!" yet?

Tony, sorry about all the trouble with the church. Since you have the peace, you're doing the right thing.

Y'all please pray for me tomorrow morning that I'll be calm/drowsy enough to get through the MRI without flippin' out!! Claustrophobia, big time!
I'm confident the test will be negative, I just can't stand the thought of lying flat on my back in that so-called Open MRI machine!! My nose tends to plug up and I have trouble breathing when I lay flat like that.

    I sure am, Gayla.

We have 99 containers on our sun porch to catch the leaks and the floor is still soaked!

More rain tonight and tomorrow. 1/2 inch more just tonight.

Now, Blackbird is no Bob Vila BUT he would advise the following

Move buckets UNDER the leaks---not NEAR the leaks!! Either that or you need WIDER buckets!!!! Like---as wide as the floor!!!! [IMG]

Dale is putting tarps up right now. That should cut down on some of the rain we're going to get tonight and tomorrow.

The water was splattering out of the containers and then we ran OUT of containers...

Water was dripping off the bottom of my curtains even!
