    Howdy, all:

MK..I didn't get to sleep in this morning. Didn't sleep much last night at all. Don't really know why.
I did go to the Dr. for the nerve conduction tests today (by electric shock....OUCH!) and he said he believed the neuropathy was caused by degeneration in the lower back, not diabetes, but the final determination would be up to the neurosurgeon. He too believes I might need a wheelchair soon. I'm not thrilled with the prospect, but it could be worse. I praise the Lord it wasn't diabetes related in his opinion.
On the way home, the deacon who had formerly resigned and his wife were at the church cleaning it up. Some of the former members had left things at the front door of the church. It just seemed the childish way for these adults to act. Why couldn't they just come to the church and give them to us personally instead of leaving them unattended on the doorstep? But, I guess that's human nature. There IS still a lot of hurt. But, I praise the Lord that the healing for those who are still at Midland started Wednesday night at the meeting. At first we weren't going to have prayer meeting, but six kids showed up, and they wanted a class. Then with all of those adults there, I suggested that we have the service as usual, or have a singing and time of testimony. It was so good to have harmony there again. A peace settled over the place, and I believe God will continue to work there.

Sue, hope all is well with Pastor_Bob's situation. Don't know what it was...but will be praying.

    Have a great evening!

Whew, another busy day! Only had Ty but had lots to do and am still not finished!

Scooter has some odd spots that look like old scabs on one elbow and I looked on the internet and thought 'mites'. I read and tried to find safe treatment but then took him to the Feed Store and the woman who owns the place thinks it's from where he'd scruffed up his elbows in a pen before we got him. If you scape the spot off, clear and healthy skin is underneath. He'd been bitten by fire ants about a week ago too. OUCH

Picked up cleaning and went to the bank. Did all the wash and got the old shirts ready to 'return'. Suppers almost ready and hubby will be home in minutes. We're all suffering from sinus! RAGWEED??? Ug!

So, Now I've got a giant pile to fold and the kids are all gone til Monday at 5:30. Need to study my S/S lesson and do an assignment the preacher gave all the GROW members but will check in later.

We posted at the same time Tony! Glad your study is over. I had that in my leg and had 'misfires' in one nerve in my ankle for months. OUCH. That is a painful study! For those who don't know, the neurologist sticks needles in your nerves and then send electricity through to see if there's a break in the conduction.

Pastor Bob's father in law had an aneurysm burst. He's quite ill.

Wondering how Gayla's PET scan went today. I've thought about her on and off all day. [IMG]

    Here I am!!
Just got on here a few minutes ago.
The PET Scan went OK,I got a little claustrophobic and was trembling all over at one point.
I did look at the 'pictures' on the computer screen afterward, and my untrained eye saw one "Bright Spot" or "Hot Spot" in my lower back. But I think that was thwere because at the first of July I was heading to the van, and saw a snake in the carport. So I squealed, jumped and turned around very quickly, the back started hurting and hasn't totally stopped hurting yet.
The tech pointed out the spot and asked if I had aggravated it recently. That was the only obvious thing to me . . .

Well I sure have been concerned and praying for you Gayla. What comes next? Will you get a report soon?

I read from the link Sue had provided that PET Scans can even show 'hot spots' for things like hormones, pregnancy and lots of other things. Let's just pray, pray, pray!

Supper's finished and Jim and Nick are downstairs. Jim's singing and Nick's playing while he should be taking his shower. The pollen has him coughing a little. He says his throat isn't tickling but can't explain the little cough. I broke down and took Sudaphed (generic). My head is pretty clogged up!

Scooter is sleeping on the sofa. He and I had quite a soccer game after supper. Patches is watching squirrels out the kitchen door. They come right up to the door because I have a broken bird feeder and had sat it on a wire shelf there. They dumped the seed and are feasting with only the thin screen between them and sudden death. Brave, brave little squirrels (and chipmunks). Scooter (dog) could care less~ A chipmunk can be in the sandbox with him and he ignores it completely!

Well we have some fireflies in a jar for the night and I've got clothes to fold. Think I'll find something on t.v. and have a quiet night. [IMG]

    Evening folks:

Glad the PET Scan is over Gayla and am praying for good results.

Doctors are amazed at Pastor_Bob's FIL's rapid progress. He is still unconscious, but no longer classified as being in a coma. His prognosis looks good and he is 74!!!

    PRAYER WORKS FOLKS!

I will say good night as Brent and I will be leaving early in the morning to meet Pastor Bob and Steph in St. Louis for lunch. Brent is going back home with them for a week and Bobby will bring him back up here when he comes to fix the roof next week-end (it rained all day today so he didn't come this week-end).

    Pleasant dreams all!
    §ue (the wanderer)

    Good morning all!

Just popping in for a minute to ask for traveling mercies for Brent and I. We're driving 260 miles round trip today to meet Pastor_Bob, for lunch, in St. Louis.

Also traveling mercies for Pastor_Bob and his wife as they travel back home from Indiana to Kansas.

Brent is going to be SO surprised and happy! He is going to Kansas for a week but he doesn't know it.

I packed all of his clothes, and put them in the trunk of the car, after he went to sleep last night. He has been wanting to visit his Uncle Bob for quite a while. He won't know about it until we meet for lunch. I can hardly wait to see his face!

I will be driving back by myself and the State Fair is in progress so I'm hoping the Interstate won't be too busy...

    CYAL,

Oh Sue! That is so NEAT! Brent will be thrilled and I know he'll get lots of love and great 'care' from Pastor_Bob and his beautiful wife. This will make up for missing camp with a broken arm.

I'll remember you all for safe travels as I do my cleaning, et al today. I know you'll do GREAT! God is with you!

Well it's foggy today and we keep losing power. Go Figure! Fog? Electrical Lines? Ours are under ground. Maybe someone hit a light pole or a squirrel committed suicide down at the corner.

Good afternoon, everyone! That is so great about the surprise for Brent!

We just returned from a funeral for a Church friend who was only 73. She had been battling cancer for about a year. It took several months for the proper diagnosis. Actually, we were told last week that she was cancer free, but I guess the treatment was just too much for her. As our pastor said it seems as such a small church we have had more than our share of funerals in the last year or so.

It was a beautiful service, especially since she was a wonderful Christian.

On a lighter note, it rained today. What a blessing to have rain.

    Hey ya'll!

It's storming here at the moment. The temp has gone WAY down! I thought is was just one of those little summer showers and wasn't paying it a whole lot of attention. My poor doggies thought otherwise. One evidently jumped the fence(not the one that usually jumps), one started banging on the back door and I found the third huddled in the garage(he's scared of storms anyway). I looked at the local radar, and sure enough we are in the midst of a rather large thunderstorm. Not raining a whole lot at the moment though, but I can hear a lot of thunder.

Gayla, glad you made it through your test. I'll be praying for good results.

Sue let us know when you're home safe.

    LOL Diane! Poor squirrel!

Oh my, oh my, what am I going to do? The boys have started calling! One told Precious today that she was beautiful! Thrilled her young heart! It's amazing how much flattery a boy can get in in a five minute phone call!

    Afternoon all:

Gayla, am still praying for you. Hoping for good results on your PET scan.

Diane, I've been having "misfires" all day in my left leg and foot, and just want to scream! But, I know that it was necessary and the findings were quite encouraging.

Sue, that is DEFINITELY neat for Brent! Sorry to learn of Pastor_Bob's FIL's health challenge, but glad to hear of the progress. God is good! I'll keep it in prayer. Will be praying all of you have journey's mercies and safety!

I was asked to preach tomorrow. Please, please...remember me in prayer. This is a difficult time in this church, and I want the people to totally focused on the Lord and ready to start rebuilding. It's been a real learning experience for me this time, and I've already seen people start to grow and flourish just this week.

Well, it's getting ready to storm here. So, I'd better sign off. Plus, I've still got the sermon to work on.

MK..praying for you in these storms...aren't they crazy!

Well hello all! We had storms roll through and lost electric a few times. Nothing big or bad tho.

In between cleaning, I read some about gum cysts and found one place that says to 'wait and see' that many go away in about 3 weeks on their own. Maybe I will... got to get the regular physician to refer me anyhow.

Also tried reading up on Scooter's itchy skin. I really don't think it's mites. He doesn't have the right symptoms for that. He does have 1 crusty spot/ scab on his elbow and two minute spots where scabs fell off. There's no red skin, etc. and his ears, nose, eyes, etc. are fine. We'd used Tresemme Vitamin C Shampoo on him several times when we first brought him home. Probably caused his itching! That and playing in the sandbox!!

I have quite a sinus headache tonight! I think I'll end up taking Sudaphed and laying down. Tomorrow's Sunday School lesson is not an easy one to teach tiny children. Jacob and Essau... I'm going to focus on 'Jacob's Ladder' and his stone pillow which was used are a marker of God's promise.

I am not sure of the situation with the church, but I know the Lord will work in hearts and bring about new growth!

My home church (back in Maine) has kind of had ups and downs over the last seven years or so after their pastor of 14 years left for a new ministry.

They've had two pastors since, and the one they have now has a real heart for the people, and it's been wonderful to see how much things have changed in just the few months since he took the pastorate.

While I was still in Maine, I saw my home church go from about 90 members down to about 30 ... and now the numbers are going back up again. Of course I know it's not about the numbers ... But the people who are there now I can tell are full of the joy of the Lord and desiring to learn of Him.

    God can do anything, amen?

JB is coming home today! He's had a great time, seen much, met many and will remember his trip for a long time. I can't wait to get him back (grass needs cutting).

Morning Everyone! Gib, you know that boy will be talking so much about what he's seen and done that the grass will still need mowing tomorrow~

Morning Megan! Yep, Tony's church needs great prayer and we should all remember him while he preaches this a.m.

Big chance of rain today but it sure is pretty now! I needed a jacket to walk Scooter at 7:30.... to keep the mosquitoes off AND the chill!

Have a GREAT Lord's Day and PLEASE REMEMBER BAPTIST BOARD IS NOT CHURCH! You need to be IN church today!
