    Evening folks:

It has been a lazy day around here. Brent is gone and I'm on 'vacation'. It sure feels nice! :D

I am heading for the recliner with my library book. Supper is over, dishes are done, Dale's lunch is packed for tomorrow and all is well with the world. [IMG]

    Pleasant dreams all!

Know all of that history well, blackbird. The Big T here used to help pappy load up the long wheel based chevy w/ the homemade camper, and we'd head out to the Smokeys, Maggie Valley, Gatlinburg or the Ozarks. Some of the best days of my life! [IMG]

    Morning all:

It's a bit cooler here this morning, Praise the Lord! We've got a good chance for rain today, and had some storms yesterday, but no power outages like the day before.

Vivian called me on my cell phone from work and asked me to go and check and see if she had left hers here. I went to the bedroom and there it was, still plugged into the charger! She also didn't take her multivitamin, but took her aspirin. I think all of these things are finally getting to her along with so little sleep every night. Tonight we've got church, but tomorrow night, she's going to bed by 7pm. She needs the rest! Three to five hours sleep a night four days a week just doesn't cut it.

Will talk to you all later today.

    Good morning all:

It is cooler here too, Tony AND foggy. I haven't had to run the central air for several days. It is 63º right now heading for a high of 86º with partly cloudy skies.

Brent can't come back from Kansas until Bobby drives up to fix the roof and rain is forecast for this week end again.

I have to make trips to Aldis, the bank, the post office, and the library today.

    Cruising,

Very muggy here today too Gib. The temp's not too bad, but the humidity is and the mugginess is what makes it hard for me to breathe.

I would rather not go out at all today, but I need groceries and I'm guessing hubby will be happier if I have supper ready when he got home...

    Good morning all!

Well, I had Monday and Tuesday off work (my office job), and I got my books and book shelves moved to my new abode. Yesterday I took care of Claire and Allison for about six hours while their parents went out together for the first time in weeks.

Everything went fine, and I wasn't even nervous! They didn't even start screaming at the same time, so I was able to tend to one at a time and everything stayed on schedule.

Now I am back to my current job until the end of the month. Sigh ... But my sister is arriving in Greenville next week and will stay with me until school starts up again for her.

    Good Morning, everyone!

We have sunshine today for a little while. We are very thankful for the rain that we received.

I finally made a doctor's appointment to check my aching knee. Doctors have been telling me for 25 years that any complaint I have is because I am getting old. :(

I guess I am fortunate if that is all that it is, huh? ;)

I have so much to do today that I am tired already. Suppose I can put it off until tomorrow?

How is MK's little boy? I hope he is doing great!

Sue, I know that you miss Brent. I really didn't know what to do with myself when all my grandchildren finally went home.

    Be back later.

    Have a great Lord's Day!

You were in Huntsville in the good old days,.

In 1972 I paid 19.9c a gallon at a Wavaho station on University Drive. My '62 Ford Falcon was bone dry and I filled up for $2.00. (Still can't believe I had $2.00 all at one time ;) ).

They're gonna have to bring back "Green Stamps" so we can afford to buy gas!

Sue, I remember my parent and grandparents using green stamps! I loved it! If it keeps up, they might have to use rationing again. Did they do that where you lived? I know in Pekin the did it for a few months....so many letter of the alphabet on odd days and then the others on even. Wasn't something my parents enjoyed.

I remember the green stamps, but I don't remember the rationing.

    I don't think it's a matter of rationing because I don't believe they're running out of gas.

The problem is being able to afford it.

    Back to carpooling...

Wish Viv could carpool, but she can't. We have five people from this area that work at the same plant she does, but two are sisters and they get off 1/2 hour before Vivian and go in 1/2 hour before. It just wouldn't work. The others work second shift.

The rationing didn't last long, only two months or so. I remember having to wait in line on certain days because of the "today, letters L-Z"...what a crock. I don't believe there was a shortage then, either.

Well, Vivian just called from lunch and said she volunteered for Friday and Saturday for OT. They may be getting OT for the next few months. The plant in NC is about ready to open in a month or so. It would be nice to get caught up on some of the things we had to let slide because of our two trips to GA. We certainly don't want to be selling any stock since her shares are worth over $1,000 less now. Crazy!

Wow, it's 98 here. Heat index of 103. Steaming!

Well, I'm back and Gasoline is $2.50 - $2.80 at the cheap stations. I never thought I would see the day. Looks like a good excuse to stay home to me.

I've got to bring the groceries in out of the car. See you later. I went grocery shopping after the doctor told me to exercise and lose weight. First time a doctor has ever told me to lose weight. :(

Oh well, at least she didn't say it was because I was growing old.

Roger, I am really sad for you guys ... I remember my parents scraping for money when I was growing up, and gas going up just a few cents was a big deal. [IMG]

One of these days my sister and I will going start drilling for oil and make a shipment to you, okay? [IMG] Er ... wish we could, anyway.

Sorry, to double post, but I just turned on the TV and it said, Ultra thin is out; normal size people are in. Now just what is normal. maybe I don't have to lose weight?

And further, am I the only one in this town that has a trunk lid that closes itself. I have to caution each one of the people who carry out my groceries to not slam the lid nor get their hand caught in it.

A friend gave me a little folding cart for my birthday. It was for my art supplies, etc, but I used it to carry groceries from the garage to the kitchen. It was super.

Oh good, I didn't double post afterall

I'm not concerned with what's "in" as far as weight ... I'm concerned with what I am comfortable with ... which means I need to lose a little bit. [IMG]
