COMMON GROUND COFFEE HOUSE #89

She's not on anything now MK! The only thing she was on was prevacid, and I made her quit taking that about a week ago.
Preacher, you always do say the right thing, God bless ya!

Those are supposed to be partridges in pear trees you know, not squirrels!

No, no Gina. At our house the partridges(doves) live in the fir tree in the front yard. It's safer there, no bird catching huskies. (Miss Freedom from this morning is a champion bird catcher)

I asked about the meds cause Son is on Topomax and he has moments when he can't keep track of his thoughts(he'll get as far as the word Mom, when he wants to ask about something and then the thought is gone). We're working on lowering his dosage because it also seems to be causing memory problems.

Well it's goodnight for me. I'll be late in here tomorrow, got a busy day ahead.

You are gonna make BH feel sad, see she can't jump.
Well cept, down. She got hurt in her hips & she can walk & run a little bit on all 4 but she mostly uses her front legs. I stand 6'4" & she can climb up me from ground level in about 5secs.With only her front legs! It's a little sad though when shes out runnin around on her chair & shes on the back just a bobbin' her head. She's judging the distance to where she wants to jump & you can see her tense up but her back muscles just won't go. I'll crawl over & let her jump from the chair down to me & its like a kid on a slide, she just wants to keep doing it!!

Well, that was a short night! I got some sleep but got tired of waking up every 30 minutes so I am up for awhile. I will try and get some more sleep in a bit.

I can't find anything on TV except infomercials. Grrrrrrr!

Oh you poor ladies! I feel for you!

this is the first year we haven't all been sick at Christmas in several years. One year it was a stomach bug that Bitsy had. Seems like the other two had already gone through it. I told the family to go out without us that it was terribly contagious, but since Bitsy was past the throwing up point they wanted us to come. T's sister's entire family had it before they could make it home two days later. They'll listen to me next time!

Pamela, if you've been down with it this long, you might need to see a doctor. We don't want you getting dehydrated.

Sue, I'm recommending a trip to the MD for you too, if you're not better tomorrow. We don't want you getting pnuemonia now!

Ya'll have a nice Sunday. We're heading out to T's mother's church this morning for their Christmas play. Precious isn't going and is instead staying at our church for a SS shindig she's been looking forward to. Hehe, even T is going to church this morning, hehe. I didn't even have to pull any teeth.

I'll be back this pm sometime, but might not get to post. I need to make 4 purses today to give as teacher's gifts. Yes, I'm behind on the sewing, I'm always behind!

Ya'll take care!

That's WAY too much snow for me, Jim!

Cindi, I am going to the doctor tomorrow if the cough is not better. Most of the other symptoms are abating.

I was never able to get back to sleep, so I've been up since 1:30AM. I am going to try and catch a nap while the 'boys' are at church. I sure don't need to be outside!

I would love that much snow.... for just one day!

Well we're back and I'm not getting anything done!

Church was fun this morning especially after they brought in the shepards and angels(most were two and three). The shepards(boys) were sooo serious. The angels on the other hand thought this was all great fun. One could see someone at the back that she though was her Papa and kept grinning and holloring, "Papa!". One of the other's decided she needed the baby Jesus doll and promptly snatched him out of the manger and began playing with him.

I found out after, that during dress rehersal she had taken him and undressed him too!

Sue, I hope you got your nap! I need one, but it's not happening today.(or this week for that matter.

That's very pretty Jim!

The girls have their Christmas program tonight. We'll be going a bit early so they can practice some more. All three are participating, although Anna backed out of singing a solo and is playing "Silent Night" on my penny whistle instead.

It will be nice when it's all done. All three have been practicing quite a bit today. (warning to all parents considering the violin for their child...OUCH OUCH MY EARS!)
They've all worked hard though, and I'm proud of them!

Now, two prayer thoughts for the praying types on here. A young man named Ryan off of the 2hearts site has gone home to Christ.
And...there's a little girl from our church that needs big time prayer. I wouldn't feel right posting the situation, but if someone wants to know the basic need and to pray for her by name, feel free to pm me.

Gina,
My wife feels the same way about the violin I'm sure (when I pick it up). I made the comment a couple years ago that if I ever could learn to play an instrument it would have to be a violin. I absolutly love the sound, when played by someone who CAN play. Anyway about 2 weeks later I came in from work one evening & there on our bed was a violin!

CUTE cow, that's great! LOL!

So have you learned to play, preacher?!

The girls all did wonderful tonight. I was VERY suprised at the number of kids involved. Almost all of them played some type of instrument, a couple of them sang. For one church to have 98% of the kids involved in playing musical instruments is just really neat!
I found myself really missing my old church something fierce for a little bit, especially the choir around this time of year, but I am thankful for the one we're in, couldn't have found a better place!

No...I don't even pick it up much. as I said when I returned to the board, the last couple of years have been weary, heavy on my soul...& body. But thats my excuse, & as a former Pastor of mine once said...an excuse is nothing but a lie, wrapped in reason.

Good morning all,

It is 8F heading for a high of 18F with no snow in sight until Christmas Eve/Christmas day, when we are supposed to get a snow/rain mix.

While I am stuck in the house, I have been crocheting slippers for Christmas gifts. I think I still have four more pair to make.

Still coughing. I guess I'll have to give up and go to the doctor. I can't take any OTC medicine so I'm pretty much on my own unless I get a prescription.

HAGD!

Good Morning All

It is snowing here!

When it snows, I want to cook and eat and that is the last thing that we need to do is eat.

We have a coconut cream pie, we have a pumpkin pie, chocolate chip cookies, oatmeal raisin cookies. I'll share with you all.

I think I'll cook a roast or may put something else in the slow cooker.

I hope it gets deep enough to play in. Muffin loves to play in the snow. I love to watch him
laugh.gif
But I will not let him stay out very long. I'm afraid that he might catch a cold.

Let's see "they" say that isn't the reason we catch colds though.

I'll check in later. Enjoy the day.

Betty

Last nite we hit 19 degrees below zero. Add that to the 47 inches of snow on the local mountains. And it ain't even winter yet!!!!!

Praise God for thermal undies.
