Good morning all,

Have a good trip, Dr.B. and stay safe!

The snow finally stopped yesterday and Brent was able to shovel the walks and brush off the car. The sun is trying to peep through this morning, but it is still cold. Brrrrrrrrr...

I'm off to make some boiled omelets for breakfast. Actually, everyone makes their own and adds what they want. It's not only fun, but since they are made in a ziplock bag - no pans to wash...

Have a blessed Lord's Day!

Forget the omelet's(I don't like eggs), I'll just have the donuts! Mmmm and the hot chocolate.

Cold and bright here today. Yesterday we saw actual snowflakes. It was sooo funny, the 5 kids we had here getting ready to leave for Jenna's party went to screaming "It's snowing!". T and I head out to see what the excitement was about and you could hear kids all over the neighborhood screaming too!

Mass hysteria over a few flakes!

It made for a good kickoff for the party, like we needed more excitement.

Now it's just at freezing here and my two youngest want to go jump on the trampoline. Crazy kids, that party last night was supposed to tire them out. Since they're so bored I'll just have to find them something to do(mawhahahaha  ).

See ya!

I plan to be back by the 27th or so, unless it snows in Denver. Unless it snows in Denver.

There you be, the chorus to the next chart topping country song! I've even got the tune running through my head.

The sun is deceivingly bright to-day, but the strong north wind humbles one's spirit. It is just plain cold and I am not going to say the temperature...it is plain cold.

Our church is an old stone building dating back to 1824 and it is also very cold. It is so cold the organ was still pumping two minutes after we stopped singing.

Cheers,

Jim

Highly unusual for me to be even monitoring the BB today, but those snowflakes that were seen in Alabama have now closed all the churches and everything else here!We usually hold forth for any who can get in, but --no way today! We are practically at white-out conditions now. All tandem trailers and any propane (or like) containers are banned from the turnpike. The temp is about 14 degrees. I can just barely see two Juncos taking shelter in the feeder out back. If all this isn't enough, I forgot to take the cinnamon buns from the Jeep yesterday, so there they remain- probably well frozen by now. Oh well, my wife just popped a pan of gingerbread into the oven. If I could save the aroma to a file, I'd share it with you.

Good morning folks!

Hope all is well with you on this Lord's Day. Traveling mercies to you Dr. Bob, and be sure you have quality time with your lovely wife. Don't you dare use the ship's computer to spy on us, you hear?!

We have over 2 feet of snow here (I believe it is 2.5 feet to be exact)! I was out already to shovel a path to my car (not that I would use it, but wanted to clean it off). Church was closed due to the inclement weather. Later, (when the snow stops) I will have to go out and clear the sidewalk around the church property. It will probably take me about 2.5 hours or more. I know I will sleep well tonight!

See the two pictures I took today. The first is at 8 AM and 18" of snow (taken through our kitchen window). The second at 1 PM and 2.5 feet of snow (taken from the front entrance landing).

Bro. Ron: Lenke is doing fine! Thanks for asking. She can now see on both eyes without glasses, so I can no longer hide!

Just came back from shoveling snow. This is too much! I need a vacation. Unbelieveable. Thirthy years ago (when I was 37), shoveling snow was a sinch. Now I run out of energy.... why is that?

Brother Barnabas, you need the laying on of hands...........about five or six extra hands to do the shovelling for you whilst you supervise. Amazing how much energy you have left then....

Cheers,

Jim

Hey Bro. Jim, that sounds great!

How could I forget that? :( Well, actually it worked out OK. Late afternoon our Pastor came with a snow blower (he got that from one of the members and fixed it), and helped me clear the sidewalk. We worked out there for about two hours (lots of territory), but it was GREAT! Actually we had about 24 inches of snow here.

Upon their arrival, his wife went in to see Lenke and the two ladies were preparing the supper. When we finished we joined them inside and we had such a sweet fellowship. During which time I forgot all about my aches and pain.
So, you see we did have multiple hands in the gas driven snow blower!

Hope you are ok up there North and did not get too much snow from this storm? Have a good night now!

You see, my dear brother, you not only got the laying on of hands, but also the double blessing and double cure as well.

We haven't had any snow to speak of lately, but it has been extremely cold, especially overnight and first off in the morning.

I think winter will have its fury this month and the sun will shine in March.............then again, maybe not...........

Cheers,

Jim

Its pretty doggone cold here. If we could get some precipitation, we'd have snow, no doubt. But it wouldnt be enought to shovel. After all, everything would shut down anyways for an event such as that.

Evening all,

It is still cold here and we had a few snow flurries today. The ground is still snow covered, but the streets are clear.

I think I have come down with the flu that is 'hitting' everyone around here, as I can't keep anything on my stomach and I have a terrible headache.

I slept almost 4 hours this afternoon and that is not like me at all. I'm thinking my resistance is down from all the stress lately...

I'm praying that whatever it is will not last more than 24 hours as our anniversary is Valentine's Day and we have special plans.

I am going to call it a night and head for bed, to sleep - perchance to dream...

Pleasant dreams all!

Got Plans?
Does anyone have plans to do something special with their honey on Valentines Day? We were going to a French Restaurant, but Lora decided to postpone it. As next weekend we going to our oldest son's and his family's home. They live 3 hours from here by car and ferry, so we make it a minimum of 2 days, sometimes 3 days. A 6 hour round trip in one day is a bit much, considering the time we spend visiting them as well.

Thank God, our son is the General Manager of a hotel and he put's us up at no cost to us. He and his family live in a doublewide that is provided by the hotel and it's on hotel property.

Also she reminded me that in March there is a group of us from church going to Victoria, Canada for a weekend so she thinks thats enough.

THE BATTLE HYMN
OF THE BELIEVER

(2 Cor. 3:18; Col. 2:15; 3:1-4; 2 Tim. 2:4)

Mine eyes have seen the splendor of the glory of the Lord,
We behold Him in the mirror of the Word, the Spirit’s sword,
Christ the God-Man now in glory, is forever more adored,
Christ is our victory!

As we dwell upon the Savior and the cross-work He's performed,
We from glory unto glory in His image are transformed,
To the world we died with Jesus; we refuse to be conformed,
Christ is our victory!

Christ arose and now is seated at His Father’s own right hand,
With Him risen, we’re positioned in that fair and heavenly land,
Looking always unto Jesus, we from heaven take our stand,
Christ is our victory!

Causing hearts to love the world and hoarding treasures here below,
‘Tangling soldiers in the earthly, ‘tis the tactic of our foe,
Though the battle for our hearts and minds still rages yet we know,
Christ is our victory!

On the cross our foes defeated, hardship gladly we endure,
Marching in His strength and power, for my weakness He’s the cure,
Christ in us the hope of glory, we in Him, the conquest sure,
Christ is our victory!

CHORUS

Glory, glory, hallelujah, Glory, glory, hallelujah,
Glory, glory, hallelujah, Christ is our victory!

To the tune of The Battle Hymn of the Republic
Words by James Delany, Pastor of the Salem Bible Church, Salem, NH.
