Not correct: the shooting societies, an important part of German culture then, were taken over by the Nazis gradually and their activities directed more towards military-style training rather than hunting and sport, but they weren't disbanded.

St. Paul wasn't always right and some things are just his opinion. He also said that men having long hair is a problem, so exactly what problem is there to men having long hair? Jesus loves us no matter what the length of our hair is.

Paul was right about everything.

I wonder how guns play out in God's providence. I know he says those who take the sword perish by the sword. And could it be the NRA and others taking the sword (so to speak) are not protecting anyone, but bringing God's wrath instead? Why the plethora of crackpots? “When a man’s ways please the Lord, He maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.” (Proverbs 16:7) (KJV 1900)

You just don't want to deal with the fact that Jesus said to buy a sword, do you? And you won't say if you would like to live in Cuba where the populace is disarmed? I imagine you call the police if anyone accidentally stops in your yard....

Can you think of a better way to die? Upholding Christ instead of cowering behind a gun?
Yes, the gun is a tool used to protect the ones I love and is used to protect our freedom, liberty. Just allowing thugs to carry the day is not a negotiable thing. So if my life is forfeit, that is an acceptable way to die.

Do you love them more than Christ? He told us not to resist evil with evil, but to overcome it with good. And personally, I would see martyrdom while upholding Christ as a blessing. Paul says “For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” (Philippians 1:21) (KJV 1900)

We all die Dave, but to die saving others is also the mission of a Christian. Let me ask you personally your position on Legal Abortion? Do you acquiesce to the governments dictates to allow it or do you protest it....can you stand inert while the unborn are denied life or do you speak out?

I am consistently pro life. Anti Abortion, Anti War, and Anti Capital Punishment. Nowhere in the NT do we see Christians violating Christ's message by using violence to defend others or themselves. That is the job of the civil magistrate. And if the magistrate does not protect, we continue following Christ's and the NT believer's examples. Fear of death robs many from following and loving Christ with all of our body, soul, and spirit.

So tell me, what would you do in this situation. A 6 ft. 4 in. 285 lb. man of pure muscle is about to rape your 6 year old granddaughter and you notice that the pistol the man had after he invaded your house to do this awful deed is sitting on the table 3 feet from you as he starts to rape the little girl? Do you just sit there and pray or do you pick up the pistol and shoot the SOB dead?

"Cowering behind a gun" apparently someone has stepped on his toes and he has become over emotional. Quite frankly his posts remind me of crabtownboy.

By saving the lives of innocent people you are upholding Gods law by stopping the law against murder ... and if you are fortunate enough to stop the shooter from himself murdering innocent bystanders, haven’t you perhaps kept that individual from physically murdering people?
