Yep! On visits to my grandparent's house. They lived in Geneva. We'd go down for two weeks every summer.
Not watching Fishing with Red was un-Alabamian! Maybe even un-American.

Problem is so many are so busy cranking out NEW songs that they haven't got time to make GOOD songs.... :tear:

I had a friend go on his show. Matt was giving him some of his techniques. Red asked him if he thought he could outfish him. I remember his response, "maybe not on YOUR show, but out on the lake, any day."

Pete I agree... Worship leaders around the world have alot of dross to sift through. But there are many new songs being written today that have much merit. And even some good ones that are getting a new coat of paint. I'm blessed to worship God, even when I have no words or songs!

The old one should be sung to praise and glorify God, forst of all. And second, to teach/learn what it means.

Others have mentioned, but not worded this way what Rush Limbaugh calls "The dumbing down of America". Not being taught how to think and/or look up words (or other info, for that matter) for yourself.

    J. D. asked, about that line in "Be Thou My Vision":

That's a tough one - how about telling ME what it means!

That's the problem with poetry, you're allowed to break the rules of grammar in favour of rhythm. Here's a quick "amplified" version of that line:

"Naught [nothing] be all else [everything else] to me save [except] that [what] Thou art."

In other words: "Let everything else, except what you are, be nothing to me."
