Confession of Faith - Who may subscribe?

Confession of Faith
I believe in God, the Almighty, Father, Creator
of heavens and earth,
and in Jesus Christ his only-begotten Son, our Lord,
conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary,
who under Pontius Pilate suffered and was crucified,
who descended into hell, died and was buried
and on the third day according to the Scriptures rose
from the dead,
who ascended to heaven and sits on the right hand of
the power of God,
hence He shall come to judge the living and the dead,
I believe in the Holy Spirit;
I believe one Christian Church of the elect,
the holy congregation of believers,
the forgiveness of sin, the everlasting life and the resurrection
in the flesh.

I believe the Scriptures, the true, only and closed canon
of authority for faith, doctrine and living.
God speaks in the Scriptures
through his Spirit in the Congregation
of the Son in Whom we have life.

The Election of God,
the reconciliation and justification in Jesus Christ of those
who according to God’s Eternal Covenant of Grace
are predestined and elected thereunto,

and in the Baptism of Jesus Christ
are sealed and attested by the Holy Spirit
in regeneration and the sanctification
of repentance and conversion,
of redemption from sin and
of growth and perseverance in the faith.

The Lord’s Supper of bread, wine and the washing of feet,
as through faith partaking
of Jesus Christ, of his body and of his blood,
and of proclamation and expectation of his return.

The Lord’s Day
the Sabbath of the Lord thy God,
for God concerning the Seventh Day thus spoke,
and God on the Seventh Day rested
according to the working of the exceeding greatness
of his mighty power which He wrought in Christ
when He raised Him from the dead
and finished all his works He had made
to reign, the King, for ever and ever.

If you are asking who could ascribe to this confession, I will be the first to say I can't for several reasons:

1. the insistance on seventh day

2. In the Lord's supper Christ's Body and Blood are physically present regardless of faith, for their presence is dependant on Jesus' promise not on our faith.

3. The canon was never officially declared closed and while I doubt that any new revelations will be added I cannot subscribe to such a statement.

4. The section on baptism makes no sense and is open to a wide interpretation.

5. The washing of feet has no place with in the church as it was only a demonstration of Jesus' purpose and not a commandment or a sacrament.

What right does anyone except an ecumenical council have to revise an ecumenical creed?

So if an ecumenical council could have endorsed subscribed, ascribed, whatever, it would have been allright, even if anti-Christ!

Where is the freedom Christ has made His own free with? My malapropism despite, my invitation stands, for anyone who may agree and confess with me, what I believe, is fundamentally a sound and simple Christian Confession of Faith.

This makes no sense. Besides, I am not Romans Catholic. Again because your statement is not a correct exposition, for the reasons I posted above, of the Christian faith I could not ascribe to it.

Moreover - look at the sloppy way in which:
__regeneration and the sanctification,
__repentance and conversion,
__redemption from sin and growth/perseverance in the faith, and
are linked. This statement has no clue to the parallel, one-way dependent, distinct relationship between justification and sanctification.


Then look at the last section:

and finished all his works He had made to reign, the King, for ever and ever.

Jesus’ works in reigning are yet future!

This is a poor proposition! It must be rejected.

You disappoint me!
Jesus reigns today, King of the Kingdom of God.
But allow me to explain this phraseology of 'my' Confession: It refers to Exodus 15 the Song of triumph on the day when God redeemed the People (also to Col.2:15 and Christ's triumph over "principalities"); It refers to the Day of the Crowning of the Son of the King when the idolatrous reign of Athaliah was over thrown; And it refers to the Day Jesus "In Sabbath Day's fulness", rose from the dead, King, High Priest and Lord. Where would any confession of Sunday get such Scripture from?
