The board, by it's very fruits, show that the owner is taking it in the right direction and that God is blessing his efforts. I run a business board myself and it a chore. It is also a lot of responsibility. The work he has placed into this board show tremendous devotion to Jesus and the expanding of his kingdom. His only rewards for this is what God will grant him, and while on earth, the appreciation we give him for the spiritual work he has done. This also applies to the fantastic devotion of the moderators who without them, you would find this board in total chaos.

I do not feel comfortable asking him to "change" the board because of this segment or that segment of the board population. Let him do his work and we should do what we do best, which is POST and work within the divine plan of this board.

I think some of you have been deacons too long :D . Let's try letting the owner and moderators continue their calling in regards to this board without our petty demands.
I wanted to repost this entire quote because it touched my heart so deeply. I was afraid some would not go back and check it out. How sweet dear Post it is, kiss kiss to the powers that be.
Calm down brother have no fear I don't think they will give us a forum anyway, please stop wasting all that sugar, save some for your cereal. Ah but I do remember a time not so long ago when the atheists were banned and Post it sang a different tune. Memory is a bad thing sometimes, I so wish I had not thought of that because without it I could almost except your post as sincere. notice I did say almost.

p.s. does it amaze anyone else here why some people are so worried about us having a private room where they cannot play.

Sorry to be harsh about it, but you should hear yourselves sometimes...
It was harse but that's your business. While you say we should hear ourselves, please listen to your words. Authority of Scripture, that is what I am looking for, if you truly share this belief then you should reverse your criticism.
Murph[/QB]</font>[/QUOTE]I think you confuse the authoirty of Screiture with the authority of fundamentalist inrepretations thereof. That being the case my ciritcism is well founded, and will not be reversed.

Baptist Believer I appreciate your calm reply, I am sorry to offend you. I am also irritated. Yes there has been some ugly things said on this thread, but I honestly feel that if certain people would not have posted in opposition to our idea in ways that belittled us that you would not have saw the uglyness. Did you notice somewhere along the line that a couple of people actually started talking about something Biblical, I think it was you and Don. Honestly we have not been able to do this of late because of the opposition. The funny thing to me is that if someone from the liberal side wanted their on forum I wouldn't say a word, more power to them.In their defense I will admit that some on my side of the gulf have made statements that have angered such as "real Baptist board" you know what I mean. Sorry

Sorry you have shown yourself to be headed way left by this post, and I have vowed not to argue
the scriptures as to their validity so I can't go left with you. I stand by what Peter said no private interpretations. I didn't know I was a fundamentalist but gee thanks for the compliment.

HeisLord, thanks for the post. It is great to find a fellow georgian who is conservative. I am in north georgia how about you?

I fully supported the decision of the webmaster and made a solid statement at that time that it was the right thing to do. I also encouraged members to support this board and not to go to other boards.

Your memory of history is as skewed as your understanding of other peoples views.

I see nothing wrong with giving credit and appreciation where it belongs. We don't do enough of it. You should try it sometime. I may not agree with most moderator's complete doctrine, but I do agree that they are deserving of some appreciation now and then.

Again, thank you BB team, I know the time and stress you have to go through.

Instead of labeling it a conservative board, maybe it could be the KJV forum. Those that believe that the KJB is the Bible that God intended for the english speaking folks, could go there to discuss(not argue) topics and doctrinal issues. The liberals(you know who you are) could stay where they are, and talk all day long about how Mary may not have been a virgin, or Jesus' blood wasn't divine, or drinking is o.k. if you don't get really impaired, or abortion isn't murder, or homosexuality is a lifestyle choice that isn't inherantly sinful, or Jesus didn't literally feed 5000 with five loaves and two itty bitty fishes etc. etc. etc. Why are the liberals so concerned if the "conservatives" have their own forum? You know that is where you'd lurk anyway, despising us "bigots". The reason, I believe, they are so opposed to it, is they are being manipulated by the original liar, sowing discord among the brethren, and causing confusion...the very thing Satan intended, when he came up with the idea of "new versions". Let us go brew in our cauldron of narrow mindedness. Let us go espouse our mean spirited debates. Let us go! That way, if some lost person happens to the board, there won't be the discord that you liberals supposedly loath. You are the authors of it. The original post was requested in a Godly manner, it was the apostates that jumped the thread, because they were scare to death that they might miss an opportunity to grieve the Holy Spirit of God. Amen or ouch! If the shoe fits wear it.

If there is ever a conservative board here--even then--there will evolve a labeling of folks "Well, he's ultra, ultra! And he is semi-ultra! And she's a liberal ultra conservative!" It'll never let up until those of us who are saved are taken up!

SBG, I think we "liberals" aren't really concerned about some fundamentalists wanting their own forum. What many of us have expressed concern about is:

- the attitude that said forum would be the one for "real" baptists

- a couple of posters in particular who have been here a whopping month showing up, shouting at the top of their lungs that there's something wrong and that we need changes here

Oddly enough, I remember everyone getting along pretty well until recently - about the time those folks started posting their vituperative attacks. If there's a "problem" here, they manufactured it.

If I have read you correctly, then, Satan ---&gt; New versions ---&gt; Liberals. Hmmm ... might be a ton or two of liberals on this board given the number of NIVs sold among Baptists.

I'm not following you here. My concern was with the inaccurate and deceptive characterization that fundamentalists are the only "real" baptists. How is that fear?

I don't really give two fig leaves whether or not a new forum is created for whatever-they-want-to-call-themselves. I do see it as divisive, but if that's the choice people want to make, so be it.

I am more troubled by the words I've read on this thread than anything. The "real" and "true" Baptists thing is incredibly disturbing. I should think it would be disturbing for anyone hearing it, regardless of their conservative or liberal leanings. It smacks of "well, I don't know about your God, but my God feels yadda yadda yadda."

That has nothing to do with liberal fear - I don't know how SheEagle came to that illogical conclusion. Fear of what, I'm not sure.

I'm only concerned that what I perceive as the purpose of this board will become moot, as more and more factions start to separate. It doesn't seem productive to do that, but it's not like I would stand in the way of its happening. I don't know how the idea came about that some of us expressing concern about the idea means that we would do anything to stop anyone from starting their own smaller club.

If it makes some members of the board more comfortable to have their own private place to discuss, I'm certainly not going to stop them (not that I could, in this virtual 'community'). Far be it from me to poke my finger in anyone's bread oven.

Funny thing one of the usual arguments against taking the scripture literaly is the problem of historical rhetoric being mistaken for Biblical truth, so in the words of the first George Bush History Bad, current interpretation good. But now we see Joshua complaining that upstart newcomers should dare to question him. Please forgive me.

I have floated this trial balloon again, and it was shot down again for the reasons I mentioned earlier. Therefore, conversation is over for the time being. If you still would like to see this, feel free to contact the webmaster directly. If a new decision is reached, I'll let you know. But for now, this topic and this thread is closed.
