Somebody mark this down: I agree with Ken and Penn on this one. A good source is Assault on the Liberty (I don't remember the author). My Dad was a CT (crypto tech) in the Navy during that time, and that was the mission of the Liberty. He knew some of the guys on board the ship and he was convinced that Israel knowingly attacked her. I do find myself somewhat on LE's side, though, as I remain decidedly pro-Israel, but the experience of the Liberty attack should be a signal not to blindly endorse all that Israel does. I admire Israel's courage, surrounded as she is by enemies; however, attacking an essentially defenseless American ship was an act of calculation and cowardice. They had sent out boats and aircraft prior to the attack and the Liberty was flying the holiday ensign (large American flag) from her main mast on that day.

Israel fell to the Romans in '70. But did all the Jews dissappear ? How do today's Israelis differ from say the Jews in David's day ?

FYI, Briony-Gloriana, the U.S.S Liberty was attacked by Israel in '67, or '68, I believe. Several U.S. and Israeli investigations have agreed that this was an accident. But it did happen, during the time the U.S. was involved in Vietnam, and Israel was involved in the six-day war.

As a race, the Jews are no longer the chosen people of God. You probably disagree. It's just another issue where Christians have to agree to disagree and hopefully do so in brotherly love. [IMG]

Only if one believes the Palestinian cause and Palestinian terrorist propaganda. </font>
Oh please! What a falsehood! You've got to be either incredibly gullible or incredibly naive.

Just because you don't think Israel can do no wrong doesn't mean one supports "terrorost" propaganda.

On a sidenote, how come Christians never discuss the Palestinian refugees that were displaced by the formation of the creation Israel? I've asked on two occaisions, but was met with deaf silence.

Ken, that's what I hear from the RCC. That the kingdom of God was taken away from the Jews due to poor stewardship.

And I think it's a heaping pile of horsey sauce.

And yes, your opinion does justify removing our support, while my opinion dreads the day America puts the U.N. over Israel.

SO bro Curtis, thank you for bringing me up to speed, although USA is known for shooting up its allies so what is the big fuss.... There are a significant number of incidents where Aussies and others have been badly hit by "friendly" fire

Perhaps you would like to list all the things Israel has done wrong since she became a nation again 50 some years ago.

Unilaterally siezing Jerusalem is a good example. Jerusalem was not included as part of the State of Israel when it was created.

Israel is currently building a wall at its border. I don't have a problem with the wall construction. However, Israel there are several places where the wall cuts into non-Israeli territory, which is wrong.

Israel consinutes to build Isreile settlements in non-Israeli territory, while condemning Palestinian settlements that have been constructed in Israeli territory.

    That's a start.

You don't want the mention Sharon's acquiescence in the Sabra and Shatilla refugee camp massacres?

    </font>
Guess it's just a matter of opinion. I see nothing wrong with the things you stated and historical facts vary depending on which version a person wishes to believe. I believe the Israeli version. I do not feel sorry for the PLO terrorists and I certainly don't buy into their propaganda.

    It ended in 70 A.D. </font>
Wow! Just like that, ended, kaput! Guess that negates all the prophecies, then. Zip.

Guess what, Jesus, John the Revelator, and Ezekiel, Joel, Daniel, Jeremiah - you were all wrong! Ken has spoken!

LE, is there a single thing you can think of that the modern state of Israel has done wrong? (Aside from the peace process.)
