Just so you are very clear, I am not asking anything from DHK. It is not mandatory that he provide anything to add scientific credibility to any of his positions. It is his choice to not do so.

This debate topic is not really about who can quote his/her interpretation of the scriptures, but that little fact does not seem to impact some writer's basic urge to just quote scriptures and then give his interpretation of the meaning of the quotes. Does it occur to him that quoting from the scriptures is mostly irrelevant to the question of the actual authorship of the book of John? I did refer to a quote from the book of John in the Barclay quote, cited on the last page.
I clearly gave you a definition of faith, which (as I suspected) you would not accept. I gave it to you from the highest possible authority--God himself. But then I see that you don't accept God's Word as an authority, only man's opinion. Shame, isn't it?Originally posted by born again and again:
My challenge to you was to cite an authoritative source for the definition of the word "faith" which does not use the word "belief" to define faith. This you have clearly not done.
It is also your choice not to define "the scientific" evidence that you demand. Do you still belong to the "Flat Earth Society?" What kind of science are you into? Again, do you actually know what science is? If not, why are you asking for scientific evidence when you can't explain what science is. Why are you asking me for something that you are unable to define. You need to be reasonable.Originally posted by born again and again:

Yes. I am saved, born again, adopted into the family of God by His Holy Spirit. God's Spirit bears witness with my spirit that I am a child of God. God speaks to me through His Word; illuminates my mind with His Spirit. Yes, He does speak to me, guides me, directs me, answers prayer, and much much more. I don't have a religion; I have a relationship--a relationship with Jesus Christ my Lord who saved me and delivered me from the penalty of my sin. He has granted me forgiveness of sins--past, present, and future; eternal life.Originally posted by born again and again:
You are clearly one of the more furtunate ones, someone to whon God speaks directly.
I quote (for the second time) your "challenge was to cite an authoritative source for the definition of the word "faith" which does not use the word "beleif."Originally posted by born again and again:

Would someone please explain how the above definitions (cited from DHK's source), are taken out of context or not accurate. And would someone pleas explain how they do not clearly demonstrate that one cannot define "faith" without using "belief."
