You gotta' like it for two reasons, even if it does seem a bit pricey (Have you checked the price of milk, recently?)

It's virtually a requirement for the so-called ambrosia salad with the whipped topping, gelatin, fruit, etc., and -

What else is there to put under the preaches and pears, or over the sliced tomatoes??
(Regular milk is simply too difficult to chase down with your fork!)

Some people use cottage cheese in lasagna in place of ricotta. Believe it or not, it ain't bad, but I still prefer ricotta.
It's only been the last few years I eaver heard of anyone suing ricotta. So I tried it, yuck, ricotta doesn't melt, and has no taste, just sits there, really nasty and disgusting. Cheese that doesn't melt, yuck, it's quite unnatural.

I love cottage cheese.

That wasn't always the case however.

Growing up, in order to get me to eat it, mom would put a little bit of grape jelly in it. Ate it up with the jelly in it.

That habit stuck with me for quite a few years. Probably only about 5 or so years ago was I finally able to eat it plain, although I still prefer some grape jelly in it.

Now my dad was a different story. He put black pepper on his. Yeah, that's right, black pepper on cottage cheese. What he was thinking I'll never know

Ewww - grape jelly - the one jam or jelly I can't stand. Hey, I think I'll start a poll on jams!

The creative abilities of people with food never cease to amaze.

Well, I normally like it with something spicy or sweet to offset the blandness, but at the moment, I'm mixing it up with fruit and flaxseed oil to make a morning smoothie - part of my health regimen.
