President Trump says that is incorrect.

View attachment 4202

You don't show any link to Trump's statement and the year timetable was from NPR. All your original link stated was that the distribution would begin right away but you obviously did not read the NPR link concerning the manufacturing and distribution problems. At any rate, there has never been a vaccine for a corona, so you may be greatly disappointed if you get neither the virus nor the vaccine, which is what will happen to 99% of Americans.

Surprised that you would align yourself with Joe Biden and question the Trump administration vaccine efforts.
I dont question the Trump effort. I simply question the safety of any vaccine regardless of who was in office when it was developed.
Vaccines logically must be viewed as a calculated risk. Polio? Worth the risk
Small pox? If there were an outbreak, yes.
Measles? No
Mumps? No
Rubella? No
Chicken Pocks? No
HPV? No
Flu? No
Rotovirus? No
Whooping cough? Maybe but I lean no.
Covid with its its staggering less than .3% death rate? No!

There is much new research linking having measels with drastically reduced risk of having cancer.

I am shocked at your anti-Trump sentiment on this. You seem to think that because enough money and effort and knowledge has not previously been put into an effort, that is can never be done. I’m glad that Eli Whitney, the Wright brothers, and a myriad of other folks didn’t - and don’t today - have your mentality.

‘ “I called him – I said, ‘What did you mean by that?’” Trump told reporters. “I think he just made a mistake. … I think he misunderstood the question.”

“I got the impression that he didn't realize he said what he might have said,” Trump said.

Trump insisted the U.S. is ready to distribute the vaccine to much of the country whenever it is available, and he repeated his assertion that could be as early as October. ‘

Wow! The article you linked on Aids showed all the difficulties with research on that corona virus and the lack of progress after 40 years in spite of tons of money from the fund-raising efforts of stars such as Elizabeth Taylor, etc. You seem to think that all we need to find a cure for a disease is a positive attitude and tons of money from Big Papa Government.

Come on, cmg. Think!!!!

All coronaviruses are not alike. HIV uses a shield technology - that is why it is so hard to develop a vaccine. COVID-19 does not use a shield technology.

Yeah, and it could be another year and it could be another century and it could be just.... Read the NPR article. You probably don't know but Trump is a salesman and likes Rosie Scenario, a Queens local.

So what? Some say that when Shi Zhengli concocted the Wuhan virus at the Wuhan Institute of Virology she combined Sars, Corona, and HIV. So maybe you should define the nature of Covid-19 and list all the corona viruses that have been conquered by man.

And it could be just another 8-12 weeks. I don’t understand why you are rooting against a successful United States effort in this fight.

I am not rooting for anything. The article that I linked was listed by Johns Hopkins University, one of the leading medical universities in the world and noted for being absolutely reliable. I think that you are the one who is over the top by refusing to consider that all Trump said was that the government would begin distribution within 24 hours and there may be a vaccine by October. But Trump did not detail that once distribution begins there are supply and manufacturing problems coupled with distribution problems as is true of any start up. And Trump did not say that there would be a vaccine.

Sounds to me like you expect President Trump to be wrong and don’t believe that the United States can accomplish this task. Sounds like you don’t have a “Can Do” spirit that so many Americans have had in our history.

Salty, I keep forgetting that you are a New Yorker and not used to dealing with Hoosiers. Someone said that New Englanders are all angry about nothing all the time--I don't know.

My answer is that most people will line up without compulsion so that Trump would never resort to a police state tactic but Biden will flip and make it compulsory because Democrats like compulsion. But then it is difficult answering some New Yorkers hypothetical question. :Roflmao:Roflmao:Roflmao

This is not a hypothetical question
A year ago - the State of NY REQUIRED all school children to have certain shots.
The ONLY exception was for medical reasons.
The former Religious exception was no longer valid.

So once again I ask: do you think the Govt will MAKE you take the shot?
If you don't want to answer - just say so.

Who gave the RC Church all that Covid money?

I imagine Nancy Pelosi since the House of Representatives has the power of the purse. I doubt that the White House even knew it happened. The RCC has a lot of contracts with the federal government, as does The Salvation Army, for example. I think that the Bishops are going to have to refund some of that money.

I will find out and hound them (snip)
