Covid wont stop till 70% have had the disease

Coronavirus will rage until it 'hits 60 to 70 percent' of the population, scientist says
Excellent! the truth is the lockdown does nothing good. 66% of NYC hospital cases came from people locked down in homes who did not go out.

Dont you wish real science would rule and not this fake science that locked down our economy for what is only another kind of flu bug, one that can not be stopped.

Studies in Europe show the death rate is around 0.2%. But the government trying to justify the lockdown lumps all sorts of deaths as covid deaths caused by the virus. You should wonder why the world governments have done what they did which they did not do for all the other bad avian flu, especially from mid 20th century forward to the one in 2010. We are ruled over by old madmen afraid of dying of covid, well the truth is flu still kills around 60,000 per year every year or more of mostly older people and we never went this far to destroy the economy to try to ineffectually stop a respiratory virus. And contact tracing is ABSURD. Sweden had the only sustainable way of dealing with this virus that they know is not going away.

History tells us that is probably a lie.

The Spanish flue killed more people and only 25-30% contracted it and it was over.
Already at those levels in the federal prison system.
More Than 70% of Inmates Tested in Federal Prisons Have Coronavirus

More than two thirds of the small number of federal prisoners who have been tested for the new coronavirus had positive results, top Bureau of Prisons officials said Wednesday, suggesting the outbreak behind bars may be more widespread than previously known.

I honestly think many more people have had the disease than that epidemiologist is saying

Since that 1918 flu was long before the ability to prove who was infected as there were no tests, there could have been asymptomatic or low symptomatic cases. All we know is what we read how 'supposed' healthy people got sick and were dead in hours.

They dont know. My neighbor has not been sick in over a year. He had the antibody test it showed he had antibodies to Covid.

I know our local Christian southeast Virginia school, most of the kids and many adults were sick in late February, including me, and classes were cancelled and now those tested are positive for covid. At the time, tests done showed the children were negative for flu, but they all had flu like symptoms, and doctors did not know what they had. Everyone recovered fine, no one was hospitalized.

I wonder if we could test in-depth enough that we would find that most people have had this virus, but that it has little to no impact on us.

A friend thinks he & his wife had it in Feb. They both had 103 temps & flu like symptoms. His wife had a severe bout with cancer a year ago. Both are 63, & recovered without any treatment.

The test of the staffs of Major League Baseball found that the rate was low, leading to the conclusion that upper class and upper middle class people have a low rate of infection. So it is a disease of poorer people who have poorer living conditions or of rich people who are active in crowded conditions. It swept through nursing homes because of the lack of foresight but it thrives in nursing homes and prisons.

I am way more interested in how many people have to be hospitalized than in the number of positives. As long as the hospitals in an area can handle the number of cases, I see no reason for any lockdown on economic activity. Precautions can be taken in order to build confidence among the workers.

If we tested everyone, then we would find out that the percentage of hospitalizations is a quite low percentage and the percentage of deaths way lower than that.

Lockdowns don't work but the good news is that all American politicians were able to wash their hands first and last.

Covid is currently the leading cause of death in the US.

There are way to many conclusions in the news based upon very limited data.

I don’t trust news reports. They are usually written by general new reporters with a limited understanding of the statistics relevance and are looking to sensationalize the news to draw revenue.

The death rate of 0.2% attributed to Covid19 is old news from early April. Don’t rely on old statistics. What we are learning about this virus is changing week by week.

Oh, this wasn't from the news but from Stanford University via the Hoover Institution, a source much maligned by the liberals here on the Baptist Board although both Stanford and Hoover are noted for their meticulous attention to detail and the accuracy of their work. Indiana University Medical School, one of the largest medical schools in the USA, has been silent. Mayo Clinic was visited by Pence but they have had to lay-off staff due to reduced income. I haven't heard anything about other leading clinics and medical schools. I think that Baptists dislike Herbert Hoover but he was a very successful engineer and businessman and endowed the Hoover Institution over 100 years ago and was not the whoremonger that Franklin Delano Roosevelt was.

It turns out that Covid is not sweeping Beverly Hills and other rich areas. I live in an upper-middle class town and we are not hard hit but Indianapolis with its vast ghettos and crowded buses and downtown office building elevators is a hot mess of infection.

Our politicians and journalists are ignorant people. In fact, many journalists have worked previously in political campaigns, something like Russell Moore of the ERLC of the SBC who is a leftist Democrat deluxe seeking to gain a foothold for cultural Marxism in the SBC nationwide.

But I blame the politicians for this mess and the destruction of the economy that is unending because it is a presidential election year. Fortunately, no career politician has been harmed by this pandemic.

Christians need to face it, many democratic politicians are evil folk. They follow Psalm 2 in their way of life.

Psalm 2 New King James Version (NKJV)
The Messiah’s Triumph and Kingdom
1 Why do the nations rage,
And the people plot a vain thing?
2 The kings of the earth set themselves,
And the rulers take counsel together,
Against the Lord and against His Anointed, saying,
3 “Let us break Their bonds in pieces
And cast away Their cords from us.”

We pretty much shut it down coming in from China. We are going substantially down, not up.
When you have 15 people, and the 15 within a couple of days is going to be down to close to zero, that’s a pretty good job we’ve done

And this was all done in spite of our ignorant press and ignorant politicians by we the people.

The government is not worried. If they were really worried, they would not be in their mansions eating $100 ice cream as they are. Nor would they be loading a medical relief act with pork as they are.

Instead the government would be addressing improving medical conditions for the elderly on Medicare who are in unsanitary nursing homes because Medicare and Medicaid do not provide clean living conditions.

But who ever thought government medicine is good?

People see the conspicuous consumption of politicians and the raid on the treasury for pork and people conclude that this is not a serious situation but politics as usual.
