Cream of tartar and vinegar

When I bicycle raced several years ago some I knew took arsenic during a race. I was unwilling to take any drugs and did just fine.

Once I was approached by a race promoter because he wanted me to race in a race. At the time I was doing quite well and he told me that he could improve my chances of winning through the use of performance enhancing drugs. I told him, "No" and he came back and asked me again at a later date. I did not even enter the race because I did not want to see him again.

 

I like the phrase "dry as the Mojave".

And I agree with rbell.

 

I believe this is considered against the rules on the Baptist Board, according to some posts I've seen. :tear:

Out of curiosity, do you believe the bits about "adds to these things" (Rev. 22:18), "untaught and unstable people twist ... Scriptures" (II Pet. 3:16), and "handling the word of God deceitfully" (II Cor. 4:2). among others? (Incidentally, why do I, who seldom mentally 'visualize' anything very much at all, by nature, get a mental picture of someone 'mauling' the Bible, everytime I read this last verse?)

BTW, you would consider this post is from a "beer drinking baptist", I guess, but I would find that curious, to say the least, considering I am older than you, and have never so much as tasted any beer, but 'root-beer', in my entire life.

I did happen to notice that you lumped all the 8K+ Baptist Board (aside from yourself, of course ) in that category in Post #48.

FTR, "Baptist" is capitalized, I think!

As I was going through this thread, I had a thought.

I wonder just how many I've seen who make alcohol one of their primary areas of concern, can't wait to get to heaven to meet Noah, the first 'drunk' in history?

Or how many would actually be surprised to find out that of the only three individuals who are specifically identified as just and/or righteous, three times each, in the Bible (including the only individual the Bible specifically identifies as being among "the godly"), two of them are also noted for their getting drunk?

OK, this made me laugh AND reminded me of my husband's mom who would NEVER allow beer in the house except to add to the shrimp boil . . .

 

1 Michael 8:1 states "do not look upon the fish while it is frying" and later "...nor application of fermented flavorings and condiments..." and yet again later "...whosoever is deceived into partaking of transfats has no place on the BaptistBoard".

You can always repent of this 'sin', you know, just as you can repent of any other sin. Even though the Bible never says to "repent of/from (one's) sin(s)", anywhere.

Cream of tartar in a little water is an old home remedy for urinary tract infections.

Vinegar in water is an old home remedy for nausea.

Vinegar is a nice window cleaner too!

 

vinegar was one of the first medicines in the Old Testament. I forget the passage now, but I'll look for it.

The gypsies in England used it in most of their home remedies before we had National Health.
