I can be friends with a lot of people.

1. What does the Word of God say to you about the subject - that should always be in the top 3 as you make a decision.

2. What do Godly pastors and advisors say about the faith that the two of you have?

3. It sounds like you are in need of a little spiritual revival as well as her needing a revival.

Some of the Greatest Christians in History were (and some are) Catholic.
(Many Baptists believe in works based theology)

BUT, there is a world of difference between their practice and Baptist practice ... Could you handle a woman leaving you (and taking your children) because a PRIEST told her she SHOULD?

Abuse of priestly authority is not a rampant as it was a decade ago, but you need to make certain that if she decides to marry - it is before GOD and not before the CHURCH ...
