The USA could save a lot money by not dropping bombs on other countries, & by bringing troops home. If you are bankrupt, who is financing all your wars?

Fundamentalism is not something specific that can be attacked & eliminated. It is a system of ideas based on the inspiration & authority of Scripture which varies with individuals as to what is considered fundamental.

American Fundamentalism is a denomination of sorts, each local church being independent.

From the article in the OP:

"We live in a time of profound existential pain. Americans are dying deaths of despair at such a rate that our nation’s life expectancy is actually decreasing. Reality is revealing the moral rot at the heart of the sexual revolution. Christians have answers for this crisis. We have a message that can renew hearts and transform lives. But there are now millions — millions — of our fellow citizens who despise us not because we follow Christ (the kind of persecution we expect) but because all too many fellow believers have torched their credibility and exposed immense hypocrisy through fear, faithlessness, and ambition."

French writes of millions of our fellow citizens despising us, without offering data to support the claim. He implies this despising of Evangelicals has become worse in the wake of the Trump campaign and presidency. Pew tells a different story. The rating of Evangelicals has not changed since 2014.

"Evangelical Christians, rated relatively warmly at 61 degrees, are the only group for which the mean rating did not change since the question was last asked in 2014."
