The Day of Lord is a Single 12-Hour Day

Thirty reasons why signs in the sun, moon and stars signal the second coming:

1. Seal Six opens “after the great tribulation.” Matt.24:29; Mark 13:24-27
2. It signifies the unknown day has come, the very day the 7th Trumpet sounds.
3. These signs must occur on the day/night of a full moon. Rev.6:12; NASB; NIV.
4. The signs continue from noon to twilight of that Day. Amos 8:9; Zech.14:7
5. Seven classes of men are hiding in the hills from invading Armageddons. Rev.6:15
6. They acknowledge the Day of God’s and the Lamb’s wrath has come. Rev.6:17
7. God’s wrath occurs on that Day…quickly after the 7th Trumpet sounds. Rev.11:18
8. Seal Six is the primary global sign in Revelation of the Day Christ returns.

17. Before Seal 7 opens, all the martyrs enter the Temple from under the altar. Rev.7:14 - 8:5
18. On the last day they praise God and the Lamb for their salvation. Rev.7:9
19. Their prayers are presented to God as Seal 7 opens on the Day of Wrath. Rev.8:4
20. Jesus placed His coming “at an unknown Hour” during these signs. Matt.24:36

28. Two Prophets rise up to heaven in the “same hour as the great quake.” Rev.11:12-13

Which time zone is this '12 hour day'
measured in?

Before you say 'all time zones' consider that
a 12-hour day across 24 time zones lasts
for 36 hours.

You answered my "New Topic" post in 10 minutes!

You seem to be rejecting my point about a day
of 12 hours by asserting a day is 24 hours!!!

The "time zone" in question is where the initial action takes place . . . Israel!! The armies of
the nations will have invaded Israel before the
sun turns to darkness at Noon on DAY ONE of the Day of the Lord.

Jesus reveals that people in Israel will have
beeen at work in the field or at the mill when the sun turns dark. He gives them no time to return home or even come down off the housetop since the Day of God's wrath has come; and the Hour of Christ's presence to destroy ALL the wicked and the unrepentant is imminent.

The Signs of Seal Six launch the events of the
Day of the Lord, the Day of God's wrath with
the events of that Day described in 100 verses of Revelation.

But, your assertion that this Day equates with seven years of Daniel's prophecy still remains
unsupported. Your 1000-Year Day of the Lord is
a 1007-Year Day.

I'm not sure if I agree with the notion of a single day. I do not believe that the entire 70th week is the day of the Lord. Rather, I believe that the very end--the climactic end of God's wrath on the world--is the day of the Lord, a far shorter period of time, but I'm not sure that the text demands a 12-hour day. I think it's possible, but I don't find it likely.

Hi StefanM,

Thank you for the observation about the statement
of Jesus that He will destroy all the wicked on
the "SAME Day He is revealed". Luke 17:27-30.

May I ask on what basis you think that "day",
from sunrise to twilight, is more than 12 Hours?

Why should it be any more than 12 hours if, "ON
THAT DAY," those who mourn and pray to escape all these things "may be kept alive if they remember Lot's wife and are willing to die"? Matt.24:30; Luke 21:36; Luke 17:31-33.

Please note that Jesus places the time to mourn
between His act of "gathering the elect from
all extremities of the earth to heaven" and the
act of the Angels in "gathering these elect out
of the four winds from all extremities of the
heavens"! Mark 13:27 [Matt.24:30]; Matt.24:31.

Jesus comes with "all the Saints" on the same
12-Hour Day that He destroys "all the wicked"
and those who refuse to repent. I Thess.3:13;
Rev.17:14; Joel 2:32.

The biblical use of the term for "day" does not always mean a single day any more than "hour" means a single hour. It's referring to a period of time.

Of course, the beginning has to occur on a single day, for obvious reasons, but I think that the "day of the Lord" can continue for longer than a 12 hour period.

With respect to Luke 17-- I don't think that "day" has to be synonymous with the "day of the Lord"--note that the text does not call it the day of the Lord. I would probably say that this event is the final revelation of Christ, a component of the day of the Lord, but I think that the "day of the Lord" period may begin earlier than this final revelation. I'll admit that I'm speculating a bit here.

Nevertheless, I admit that Mel's position is tenable; I'm just not completely convinced of it yet.

Hi StefanM,

I'm not surprised you are unconvinced.

Please consider that the "signs" of the Day of
the Lord, whether in Matt.24, Mark 13, Luke 17,
Luke 21 or Rev.6, occur "in the days *after*
the Great Tribulation ends. Mark 13:24; Matt.
24:29 and in concert with this, Rev.10:6-7, as
the End will occur "in the days whenever the
7th Trumpet is about to sound" that "God's
wrath has come". Rev.11:18.

Pre-Tribbers claim the Day of the Lord includes
half or all of Daniel's 70th Seven of 2520
24-Hour Prophetic Days. They don't explain
what happens on Day #2520 (7x360).

Some Pre-Wrath advocates assume all seven last Plagues occur after the great tribulation and
others claim the Trumpets and Plagues occur *afterward*. They don't explain why the Lord
must wait an unknown period of days for the End
instead of coming "immediately after the trib".

Some Post-Trib supporters assume the "signs"
of the Day of the Lord occur days or months
*before* the Events of that Day. They don't
explain why these events to which Jesus refers
as causing men's hearts to fail (and described in 100 verses of Rev.) could not occur in a single 12-hour-day.

My response is that Jesus not only placed the
"specific signs in the sun, moon and stars"
on the same Day He comes with all the Saints;
but that He will destroy "all the wicked" on
that same day (to fulfill Zech.14 as well as
Luke 17:29-30 as it was on the day Lot was
saved); BUT that the EVENTS of the Last Day
are also the events of DAY ONE of a 1000-Year
Day of the Lord.

Brother Ed claims the Day of the Lord includes
the seven years of Daniel's 70th Seven. But
this does not allow that "chronos" Time will no longer be subject to a countdown as of the day
the Two Witnesses are killed on the last day
of Daniel's 2520 prophetic countdown "days"
which are clearly 24-Hour Days!! Rev.10:6-7.

There will be no more and certainly less than
3 1/2 days remaining before the Two Witnesses will be "caught up" to heaven to witness in the "Open Temple Court" of Seal 7 which cannot open "until the 7 last plagues demonstrate that God's deeds are holy and true (Rev.15:4; aorist
indicative) and have exhausted God's patience (anger)" (15:1 aorist indicative) because the
wicked will have refused to repent during the
Plagues and continually "blaspheme God" right
up to the "DAY OF GOD ALMIGHTY" having gathered their armies to Armageddon. Rev.16:9-11.

That is precisely when Jesus promises to "come as a thief" (Rev.16:15; 2 Pet.3:10) and so that on that DAY, DAY ONE of the 1000-Year Day of the Lord, He comes to begin the Day of the Lord which must include the reign of Christ on earth and must start as of the 7th Trumpet because IT alone announces that "God's wrath has come".

"NNE can enter the Temple in heaven until
the Last Plague empties in the air." Rev.15:8.
Therefore the Court Scene of Seal 7 (Dan.7:22)
will not take place until the voice coming
out of the Temple, from the Throne, decrees:
"It is Done" (Rev.16:17); the very context for
His coming "as a thief". The End has come when the 7th Plague empties in the air and the Temple
opens as of Rev.15:5 for the action already
described from Rev.7:9 to 8:5 and Rev.11:15-19.

For it is then we find the only other reference
to the "OPEN" Temple with the Ark of Covenant
seen for the first time. Rev.11:19. God's
wrath is announced as having come as a result
of the Angel of Fire's Verdict symbolized by
coals of fire cast to the earth and the first
of 3 instances of the Storm Scene that continues
at the 7th Trumpet. Rev.8:5; Rev.11:19.

For these reasons, I reject the premise of
Bro. Ed that the Two Witnesses are killed
3 1/2 years before the END of the countdown
of Daniel's (2520/24-Hour Prophetic Days) with only 30 days left of his 3 1/2 times of 2550
days (2550-1260-1260=30).

I cannot accept that the Day of the Lord
includes any of the 2520 24-Hour Prophetic
Days of Daniel's 70th Seven.

Does a Triune Lord and God limit Himself
to one and only one 'Day of the Lord'?
I don't think so.

Most of what you say, Brother Miller, is the
one 12-hour-day-long Second Coming of Jesus Event
'Day of the Lord'. You see only one 'Day of the Lord'
but the Lord has three each "Day of the Lord's:

1. the 70th week of Daniel
7-years-long = 2 times 3½-years long = 42 months long
The Tribulation Period = Day of the Lord God

2. the physical Millinnial Kingdom of Christ
1,000 years long (could be symbolic of 'a long time'.
The Millinnial Kingdom of Christ = Day of the Lord Christ

3. the 12-hour day that Bro. Mel sees
Second Comming Event*
Second Comming = Day of Christ Jesus the Lord

*note, The Lord's 'second coming' has two parts
(these numbers aren't sacred)
Both the whole 7-year-long event and the end day
are called the same 'second coming'


1. the Coming of Jesus in power and Glory to destroy the antichrist
2. the Coming of Jesus to get the largely Gentile Church

but you can number them this way also
(how you number them doesn't change the fact they are two.

Some people think it says somehwere that the God who created the
Universe limits Himself to 'one and only one' 'second coming'.
I haven't found it yet. I found where God limits Himself to
one and only one uniquely born Son: Messiah Jesus.

How man 'first comings' did Jesus have?

1. the coming from heaven to earth as a babe in a manger
2. the coming from hell to earth at the Resurrection of Jesus

Nobody i've ever told this two debated it. But folks will
agree the 'first coming' is dual, but the 'second coming'
is only singular. Show me the words. "one and only Second coming"
will work nicely. If you can't find that, other words can
abe used to say the same thing.

Lots of Scripture on a "single" day of the Lord.

You have not yet given evidence that the 70th
Seven of Daniel is called the "day of the Lord".

You simply repeat a statement which is self-
serving; but not evidence that the Day of the
Lord will last more than 1000 years with Christ
coming with all the Saints to destroy the wicked
on DAY ONE. Here is your repetitive statement:

Peter allows that the Day of the Lord is no
more and no less than 1000 years. That does
not mean 1007 years.

Why do you wish me to "show you one and only
Second Coming" as requested in your closing
remarks above? I have never seen evidence
for anything but a "one and only S. C." Or
do I misunderstand your request?

Even when I supported the Pre-Trib Rapture
60 to 72 years ago, I never accepted the idea of "two phases" to the Second Coming. I just thot of the Rapture as secret and invisible.
