How do you know if you are unable to define it?

I think you may just like the label "penal substitution".

Do you reject RC Sproul's theory?

My sin was placed upon him. And the one who was pure was pure no more. And God cursed him. It was as if there was a cry from heaven — excuse my language, but I can be no more accurate than to say — It was as if Jesus heard the words, ”God damn you.” Because that’s what it meant to be cursed. To be damned. To be under the anathema of the Father.

There's something very wrong with that.

Galatians 3:13 was done. Not God's anger or wrath. Deuteronomy 32:22, Luke 16:24.

I agree. Christ came under our curse.

But that is not penal substitution. Perhaps our disagreement is just in labels

Penal Substitution refers to Christ suffering under the wages of God (God's punishment) rather than under the consequences (or wages) of sin.

That is why it has been a difficult for discussion. I was assuming you meant that Christ died instead of us rather than for our sins, that it was God punishing Christ rather than man punishing Him.
