Deeds or Creeds

I am passionate about doctrine. But I also know the Greatest Commandment doesn't have "and make sure your doctrine is all correct" added onto it.

The Greatest Commandment IS doctrine. Can you appreciate that?

Furthermore, to love God, you must do so with your mind as well as the rest of you.

I have no problem with what you have said. I don't know why you can't understand where I'm coming from.

Charles Spurgeon, Nothing But Leaves:
Is he referring to hypocrites?
That statement is filled with theology - bad theology. You see, you can't escape having to make theological-based decisions about your faith and actions. Your deeds are based on your creeds, whether you like it or not.

You can't say, "I just love Jesus" without first answering at least a dozen questions, starting with, "who is Jesus?"
OK then, who is Jesus and what does he want from you?

Answers to those two questions have filled entire libraries with books, caused the bloodshed of millions, and turmoil the world around, and you want me to answer them in a meaningful way in an online forum???

I don’t give a fig what others think and how they answer.... I want to know what you think because that will in effect color your entire world view .

Yes I know that Jesus was God & Man, Sinless, a sacrifice to many but what do you feel was his (forgive my discription) His inner Zen. Then what about this death business, why...why die when you know mankind is incapable of sharing a sinless state in life... does it have a purpose unto this life and the next.

These are the kind of questions that will define you... your depth of curiosity and eventual growth.... not debate on Calvin / Arminian.

I once had an old priest who would say, that’s the flesh and blood stuff.... so bro, flesh it out!:Wink

If you are wrong in your doctrine you may wind up in hell. If God's love is greater than His holiness, then He will save all regardless of whether they trust in His Son or not.
LOL. Show me a holiness of God that is not Love.

There is going to be more raging and gnashing of teeth over who he will save from people who expect LESS love from an evil god.

God is a God of Love AND wrath, correct?

There is no wrath greater then Love.

The whole world can torture you, with fire, suffering and pain.

But then let it happen to someone you actually care about, You would switch places with them if you were allowed so.

To be willing to march into hell for a heavenly cause, makes all things subordinate to Love.

1 Corinthians 13

11When I was a child, I used to speak like a child, think like a child, reason like a child; when I became a man, I did away with childish things. 12For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I will know fully just as I also have been fully known. 13But now faith, hope, love, abide these three; but the greatest of these is love.

This is beyond the childish playground of who can beat who up and in the league of things that really count.

God is just to condemn those who are sinners rejecting Jesus to save them, correct?

God doesn't condemn. You dig your own pit. The Gates of Hell is locked from the inside not the outside. Everything in hell doesn't want to come out. It wants to stay as far and separated from God as it can.

17“For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.

Keep reading, as it also states that those who reject Jesus stand already condemned!

Yeah they do it themselves.

Nothing in hell wants out of hell, it wants to be separated and far from God as possible.

Details buddy. It doesn't say God condemns.

Hell is an active sin against God, everything in it is sinning against God.
