But it was never part of the Scriptures among orthodox Christianity. Tertullian himself was not Orthodox, as you yourself will admit. The doctrines I mentioned are not part of Orthodox Christianity and cannot be defended using Scripture alone. That is your problem. They are extra-Biblical. They are additions to the Scripture.
Check again. Orthodox believe in the resurrection of Mary they call it her dormition. Compare Catholic Mariology and Orthodox Mariology and you will find many similarities.
Scriptures Don't hold everything. For instance scriptures say to baptize. Yet we see in the Didache (during the apostolic period) that baptism must be done in "living water" or real water not stagnant Putrid water or wine or some other thing. There must be a flowing to it. That is tradition that is not in scriptures but we see the consistent teaching of that passed down from Apostolic period. for instance. You sing hymns not in the bible that is your tradition but it is not from the Apostolic times. Mariology is not like your tradition.
