'Fruit departing' is not a 'premature birth'. Methinks the translation you are using is assuming an interpretation before the fact. It's clear in the reading that the mother is the agent here whose well-being is being addressed, not the fetus.

Again posting a definitional piece I did on liberalism. I've thought of doing some others on some other elements of liberalism but this is its most insidious element:

The Rot of Liberalism

In its essence, it whines against standards and absolutes, destroying any solid foundations:

--They tell us there is no original meaning of the Constitution, therefore it means whatever those with the: most votes/most Supreme Court seats/most influence in academia/loudest media say it means. Because the Constitution lives/flexes, it is no longer a true framework for government but simply elastic. It is no longer, as Jefferson said, chains that bind men down from mischief. Government can grow and thereby create new constituencies for its expanding power. The more constituencies the better, creating a general interest in its expansion and a fight for those resources so that its citizenry no longer care whether government has the right to those resources or whether the power is legitimate, so long as "I get mine". To present, conservative Republicans like to think of ourselves as standing for the principle of limiting that government, though the system is rapidly becoming a conflict between the parties to attract constituencies for government's favor and largesse. Enumerated powers? Enumerated, shnumerated.

--Liberals want us to believe there is no meaning to the family any longer. They tell us it is any gathering of consenting adult(s), regardless of the effect on the children who are brought into that gathering. Parenthood becomes a right, not a responsibility; a means of destroying values, not preserving them. By becoming a right, homosexuals may now inculcate their perversion through teaching, influence, or God forbid what other means they may use.

--Through the introduction of "anything goes" sexual immorality, if it feels good/it doesn't harm someone else "morality", sex is cheapened. It becomes a right of privacy rather than a sacrament of marriage. Being a right of privacy between two individuals rather than a precious part of a sacred relationship it becomes something for everyone. And since it has become a right, the Supreme Court has become its guarantor. Immorality has thereby become Constitutionalized and institutionalized so that opposition to it is a violation of someone's rights. One can't choose to whom he will rent his property to uphold his own values, as in the case of cohabiting couples or homosexuals, thereby criminalizing opposition to this immorality. And so it spreads. "Who am I to say it's wrong" means that there is no wrong.

--Through weakening standards of self-responsibility, the Courts and academia have created opportunities for individual or governmental self-enrichment by blaming others. So now smokers can sue the manufacturers of products they choose despite health warnings. Fat people are now seeking to excuse their gluttony by blaming what they eat and the restaurants that make them. Governments grew by "settlements" (read extortion) of cigarette companies saying this money would finance health care and anti-smoking campaigns, but rather used it to finance their continued fiscal irresponsibility.

--By cheapening the freedoms we hold dear as Americans and what it means to be an American, liberals feed hatred of what this country has meant to the world. People have come from all over the world to our shores for a taste of economic, political, and religious freedom but liberals ridicule and attack these liberties, instead attaching themselves to the Marxist/socialist doctrines of the governments people are fleeing. Rather than promoting assimilation into our noble experiment and thereby enriching the experiment itself, liberals hold dear multiculturalism so that assimilation is no longer necessary, dividing our society, Balkanizing it. Every culture is held as equal to each other except our own which is held inferior because it is--our own.

--If our freedoms are illusory, our way of life is attacked, and our country is not a shining city on a hill for the oppressed of the world, the sacrifices of our Armed Forces mean nothing. In fact, they become the instruments of American oppression. Despite liberal protestations of loving the troops but hating war, they instead despise the "calling" of the military, to go in harm's way in their nation's defense. If America is not worth defending, America's uniformed services are at best misguided fools, at worst instruments of tyranny. Yes, war is an awful thing not to be entered into lightly and therefore it is healthy to be hesitant to enter into it, but it must be available as an option to protect America's interests which are not by definition evil.

--Because there is no inherently good morality, according to liberals, all systems must be tolerated, except that which holds that there are in fact standards and absolutes. That view must be guarded against and repressed because it stands in the way of "progress", "progress" toward who knows what and furthermore, who cares what, as long as it is "progress". The only standard of the progress is the bringing down of measures, of morals, of standards, except what furthers our own self-indulgence. Because absolute morality is ridiculed and squashed, all other views are thereby advanced. A holy God as the basis of that morality becomes swept under the rug: we don't want conscience to be bothered, because society doesn't want to acknowledge an authority, a standard for individual behavior. God isn't killed, he is ridiculed to death and banished. Or a new god is created, the god of love, who loves all, who loves everything, who rejects nothing. The new god has many names, but is a god of Eros, the Goddess of Reason, Enlightenment. The angel of light.

--Because liberal religion teaches "we all worship one god", the God of the Bible is made equal to false gods, idols, and no god. His teachings are made level with Mohammed's, with Buddha's, and with Confucius's. Al Qaeda's religion is simply another religion. The Koran's jihad becomes a multicultural equivalent with the Resurrection of Jesus.
