Democratic Congressman: 'Not Fair' To Subject Congress To Obamacare Just Like Everyon

Are you (will you) be required to purchase your health insurance through the exchange?

I'm pretty sure you're not. The article is a gross mis-statement, as not "everybody is subject to ObamaCare".
Obamacare affects everybody's health care, regardless of whether they end up in the exchanges or not. Employer offered plans will be different and more expensive under Obamacare, so those of us who may still have them will certainly be 'subject' to the law too.

I can see where ITL is upset about the title. What upsets me is that liberals.conservatives are starting to use that same dirty trick used by liberals.

Here in the Salt City, a conservative candidate is conserend about a disabled bus passenger who was tased for standing on a bus. The true story is that he was tased for refusing a lawful order of a police officer.

Often headlines are misleading.

If it was stated that the congressman was either misquoted or misrepresented, and the article title was misleading, I would have agreed. But it seemed a poster was being blamed.

Members, staff will keep health-care subsidies under Obamacare

Members of Congress and Hill staffers will not lose their health-care subsidies from the government when Obamacare is implemented because of an exception proposed Wednesday by the Office of Personnel Management.

Under the current system, the government covers most of the cost of health-care premiums for members and their staffers. But an amendment to the Affordable Care Act — proposed by Iowa Republican Sen. Chuck Grassley — threw those subsidies into question, saying that members and staff must enter into the exchanges or be covered by insurance “created” by law.

Lawmaker to refuse special Obamacare exemption for her staff

Just because the Obama administration is allowing members of Congress and their staff to be exempted from certain provisions of Obamacare doesn’t mean all lawmakers are going to accept what they are calling “special treatment.”

Republican West Virginia Rep. Shelley Moore Capito says she will not accept any health care subsidy made available to her and her staff that average Americans can’t receive.

Her comments come after the Office of Personnel Management announced last week that it will provide a subsidy of about 75 percent of the cost for the health care of members and staff.

Finding this outrageous, Capito says she plans to introduce legislation in the House called the No ObamaCare Subsidies for Congress Act of 2013 to “end this special treatment for Members of Congress.”

“As long as ObamaCare remains law, Members of Congress should not receive exchange subsidies that are not provided to other Americans,” said Capito, who is running for Senate in 2014.
