Democratic Leaders Threaten to Admonish Wilson

This one is not going away quickly.

House Democratic leaders plan to vote early next week on whether to formally admonish Rep. Joe Wilson unless the South Carolina Republican apologizes on the House floor for interrupting President Obama's address to Congress by yelling "You lie!"

Wilson apologized to the White House shortly after Obama's speech, and the president accepted his apology Thursday. But the Republican lawmaker turned a deaf ear to a request from his party's leaders to apologize directly to House colleagues.

Absent such a apology, Democratic leaders will move forward with a resolution of disapproval or reprimand against Wilson's behavior, senior Democratic aides said Friday.

Wilson should proudly accept whatever farce they perform.

Then ask when he can expect an apology from democrats for the catcalls and boos of democrats during a speech made by Bush.

Democrats are such phonies and hypocrites.

And liars. Just like their liar-in-chief, the zero.

what ever else he does, he should not apologize...again. Once is enough.

I dont' excuse Wilson's action, but if democrats do this, it will backfire on them for making a mountain out of a molehill.

Already, people on both sides of the aisle are saying "can we move on, please?"

Tiny, you are smarter than this post. It is off topic and has no relevance to this thread.

I wonder when Wilson's web site will be back online?

Of interest from the The Telegraph in the UK in an article about Wilson ...
The verb "to lie" is highly charged on both sides of the Atlantic: you cannot call anyone a liar in the House of Commons without being forced to withdraw it (or yourself). Other banned words include blackguard, guttersnipe and, oddly, stool pigeon. Cynics point out that some politicians are tremendous liars; but we support the tradition, on the grounds that parliamentary discourse is debased enough.

dems cetainly hate truth

However Wilson has admitted that Obama was technically right. I am not sure what Wilson means by technically right. But I see no way that a person can be technically right and lying at the same time.

Regardless there is no excuse for anyone to call any president a liar in public on national tv. Wilson apologized to the president. He should also apologize to Congress for demeaning it with such improper behavior.

There's method to this madness!

As long as they (the Ds ) can keep Joe Wilson on the front page, the less people will see what is happening in DC.

The few conservative outlets should drop the JW fiasco, and focus on the "0" and his antics - let the liberal press keep grinding away about Joe.

Frankly, I do believe that the common folk are slowly ( too slowly:BangHead: ) waking up to the stutter-stepping of the left and the press (but I repeat myself) and are beginning to get a true picture of the real agenda of the liberals.

Unfortunately, I'm afraid the end goal of both parties is the same, but the path and speed of approach are just different.

If the citizens wake up, like they SEEM to be doing now, then the powers behind the throne will back off and let things calm down a bit; but if the masses become as rabid as some Obamaites, the pace will pick up and caution ignored - sorta like the first few months of this administration.

If you doubt this, consider the difference in 70+/- years! Truman, and even JFK would be staunch conservatives by todays standards.

So we are slowly, but most certainly, moving toward that socialist gov't that some on this board so yearn after.

Hope I'm long gone 'fore then --MARANATHA!!!!

You should apologize for your proven lies.
As usual, the king of the ad hominem adds nothing of value to the discussion. Curtis, you have been extra cranky lately. Did someone pee in your Cheerios? How about dropping the incessant attacks and discuss the issues. And it isn't even clear who you are aiming your guns at.

Wilson does not owe Congress an apology. The democrat in Congress have demeaned that body beyond measure by ignoring the Constitution of the United States.

All the hoopla over this is nothing more than feigned outrage. If you dug deep into the depths of all the controversy you could not find an ounce of sincerity.

In the Philippines, they used to have the Nacionalista Party and the Liberal Party and these two would go at each other's necks while the media gleefuly reported what each was saying of the other and the people and partisans among the people gobbled down every word and incident.
Then we found out the danged gobbledygooks often had lunch with each other in their congressional offices or at the canteens and sometimes those in the front pages "calling each other out" were actually longtime godfathers of the other's children.
Politics and media are the same, whether you're third world, old world, or new world.
How I long for my Father's world, where truth and righteousness prevail, and lies and liars are outside the gates.

It pobably won't matter if he does re-apologize.

I am no great fan of former President Clinton, however, it distressed me that after more than one public apology to everyone everywhere for his indiscretion in the White House, he was accused of not having apologized sufficiently.

I don't think Joe will be treated any differently. Retaliation you know.

You hope. There was no outburst of righteous indignation when Bush was booed by the Democrats during one of his addresses. But then, the Dems are granted moral superiority by some members of this board and nearly all members of the media, therefore whatever they do is okay.:tear:

so apparently it's ok for the president to lie and no one can call him on it. seems like a different set of morals then with past presidents from some people here. changing morals to fit the situation.
