Rep. Ron DeSantis: More Threats, Celebrations of Scalise Shooting Pouring In

Rep. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) talked with Breitbart News Daily SiriusXM host Raheem Kassam on Thursday regarding his experience at the GOP baseball practice where Rep. Steve Scalise was shot.
DeSantis said while Rep. Scalise “is fighting for his life, I think he’s going to pull through.”

After describing his interactions with the alleged shooter, DeSantis said, “We received a message expressing approval of what had happened and just hoping that Donald Trump would be next. And another one of my colleagues received an email saying one down, 217 more to go. and other colleagues have received other things.”

The headline of this threat is a idiotic smear.

Just because nut jobs are making threats doesn't mean that the Democratic Party is a terror group.

BB - I agree that it's a smear. BUT--perhaps it's a necessary smear.

Note: I'm not a Trump fan.

When a rodeo clown wore an Obama mask, he was villified by the left. He was not supported by the majority of the right.

But when Kathy Giffen pretends to behead Trump; when a play depicts the assassination of Trump; and these are lauded, and the portrayers supported -- what recourse are left to shock them into the realization that they are encouraging behaviors such as shooting congresspeople?

The wacky left and the wacky right are both guilty of this kind of thing. Most people are not in the extremist camps and find all of it deplorable.

I don't know how many times I have had to defend Republicans against the blanket charges of racism. And threads like this - essentially the same thing, second verse - just perpetuates the problem. Any time someone makes a blanket judgment against a whole group of diverse people, you can be sure it is wrong, simplistic, and designed to marginalize and denigrate.

The headline to this thread completely undermines any relevant point that might have been made in the OP.

They are what they promote. They have promoted violence and mayhem ever since the election. It's yielding fruit. Now some of them are condoning the killing of republicans. This was the expected outcome. They either knew it from the beginning or are just plain stupid.

That's just a fact.

You speak of Democrats as a monolithic group. Did all Republicans claim that Obama wasn't born in this country? Not even close. Only the extremist fringe. (And yes, I know the current President rode that extremist horse until it did not benefit him anymore and he repudiated it once he had achieved his objective.)

Ok. Ok. Your point is taken. If there are 15 million democrats and 26 don't promote violence, ALL of them are not promoting violence.

Taken as a whole, the far left contitiuency of the democrat party ( a majority of their supporters), including many of the party leaders are promoting violence and especially including the newly elected DNC chairman That's what the party wanted.

Get over it.

The "Resistance" has almost become the party platform.

How The American Left Made Political Violence The New Normal

How The American Left Made Political Violence The New Normal

Thursday night, leftist protesters at a Donald Trump rally in San Jose, California, chased down Donald Trump supporters and beat them bloody, spit in their faces, pelted a female Trump supporter with eggs, hurled rocks at police horses, and broke down metal barriers – all while burning American flags and screaming slogans like “America Was Never Great!” and “Make America Mexico Again!”

In recent years, under the tender tutelage of the Obama Department of Justice, mass violent action by leftists has become commonplace across the country, from the Occupy Wall Street movement to Black Lives Matter-inspired mob violence in Ferguson and Baltimore, from campus chaos at California State University of Los Angeles to this sort of violence at Trump rallies.

Maybe not a terror group, but today's Democrats are more communistic than constitutionalists - they simply hate our great governing document.

Got any stats to back that up. I doubt it.

Remember those democrats that took over a government building last year forcing a month long standoff followed by an attempt to run a police bkockade. Oh wait.

Democrats by and large started out being a terrorist group (KKK) and are now returning to their roots.

What exactly is the resistance?

Rather than regrouping and concentrating on reconnecting in areas of the country where President Obama won twice but Hillary Clinton lost, it seems like the left is doubling down on crazy.

Physically attacking people — as what happened at Berkley last night — for not agreeing with you is fundamentally un-American. So is refusing to accept our election results. So is trying to undermine our democracy by threatening a military coup.

That's the way democrats and their radical leftwing voters roll now. American terrorists is being kind.
