Indiana originally, but feel equally at home in Kentucky--lived there for nine years.

The Oakies can't post as Oakies because they all came to California during the Grapes Of Wrath... Dust Bowl... I wonder how many Californians are really transplanted from other generations of other states  ... Brother Glen ;)

I am a proud son of the Great Southern State of Florida!

And I do NOT want to hear from y'all that Florida is not a Southern State. It IS a Southern state!

Florida was the third state to secede (January 10, 1861) and was the only state, east of the Mississippi River, whose capitol was not captured by Yankee forces (they were held off at the Battle of Natural Bridge, March 1865).

And let us not forget who is from Jacksonville --- Skynyrd (bow your heads now in respect).

So as you can see, we have earned that star on the Southern Flag. And while it is true that South Florida is all Yankee-fied, the state itself is as Southern as Southern is.

A proud Floridian from the Southland,
Rebel [><]

Checking in as a conservative/right-to-lifer - in a state of liberal Republicans (a/la Pataki/Houghton) and even more liberal Democrats (a/la Shumer/Clinton) and high taxes - born and raised and lived here all my life (except for one semester in Clarks Summitt, Pa) - the Empire State - New York.

PS - its too bad we can't cut Westchester County, New York City, and Long Island afloat. Then we'd likely be just the state of liberal Republicans. :D :D :D

I'm an Okie, but I'm from Texas. Been an Okie as long as I was a Texan.

LOL, go for it.
I got in a car accident on county line road between two towns, Geneva and Madison. When they asked me where I was I got all confused. LOL Then they asked what town I was from and since I still hadn't figured it out (I was on the same road) I didn't know what to say. They DID check me for a concussion!
