We were warned not to believe every spirit but test them per 1 John 4:1-6.
1 John 4:2 is not about reproving the heresy that Christ had never come in the flesh as in past tense, but "is come" is referring to present tense; where is Jesus Christ now? He is in us. That is what 1 John 4:2 is saying and 2aul is saying the same thing in 2 Corinthians 13:5. This is rightly dividing the word of truth by noting how verses 3 & 4 aligns with verse 2 in the context of the message in testing the spirits from verse 1.
That means if any spirit comes over us later in life as a saved believer or is felt in the worship place by its visitations of signs & lying wonders, that was not the Holy Spirit when He has been in us since salvation.
It doesn't stop there on how to test the spirits. In the world there is a pagan supernatural tongue that is just gibberish nonsense and not God's gift of tongues which is a foreign language to speak unto the people ( 1 Corinthians 14:20-21 ). Isaiah 8:19 confirms such a tongue as found in the occult which was before Pentecost. That is why we are to test the spirits behind the tongue and not just knowing that if any spirit comes over us later in life as a saved believer or is felt in the worship place by its visitations of signs & lying wonders, that was not the Holy Spirit.
Usually such a phenomenon mislead many to seek after that phenomenon again to happen in their assembly by seeking to receive what they believe is the Holy Spirit again apart from salvation but in hypocrisy; 1 Timothy 4:1-2. They do not know the scripture that Paul warned us about those giving another calling & another gospel per 2 Corinthians 11:1-4 as if they can receive Jesus or the Holy Spirit again.
Those in error also hype the phenomenon as receiving another baptism with the Holy Ghost by a sign of tongues and/or even as evidence with tongues when tongues are not supposed to serve as a sign to saved believers about anything but tongues are to serve as a sign to unbelievers per 1 Corinthians 14:22.
Thus they also ignore Jesus warning when they commit this spiritual adultery per Matthew 12:39 which is the same spiritual fornication spoken of in Revelation 2:18-25 where they have known the depths of Satan, as they speak; hence that devil's tongue that many modern day tongue speakers believe God's gift of tongues can also be for private use when it is not His gift of tongues at all for why it is not a language of men to be understood by the foreign people or translated by another in the body of Christ, but is gibberish nonsense.
This is the falling away from the faith prophesied in 2 Thessalonians 3:1-3 before that soon of perdition is revealed in his time during the great tribulation. Paul says this iniquity causing the falling away from the faith was already at work in his day in 2 Thessalonians 2:7 & described why God permit the strong delusion to occur because they believed the lie.
What is that lie? That they can receive the Holy Spirit again apart from salvation per 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12. Proof of that is how Paul reminds the traditions taught of us as to when the sanctification of the Spirit & the belief of the truth was received which was at the calling of the gospel in 2 Thessalonians 2:13-15.
The damnation that these saved believers risks is being left behind at the pre great tribulation rapture event as warned in Revelation 2:18-25 to be resurrected after the great tribulation as vessels unto dishonor in His House.
Why? Paul goes on to address those who have fallen away from the faith in 2 Thessalonians 3:1-7 and he made it clear that they are still brothers for why we are commanded with the Lord helping us.. to withdraw from them to not treat them as the enemy, but admonish them as brothers still in 2 Thessalonians 3:14-15.
Even Paul seem to rebuke the men in 2 Timothy 2:15-17 for instead of scripture, seeking tongues for self edification for private use; hence not of Him, since it is given to profit the body withal per 1 Corinthians 12:4-7 where no tongue speaker can say they need nobody else ( 1 Corinthians 12:19-21 ) One can see the issue is being addressed regarding the devil's tongue later on in 2 Timothy 2:24-26 since God wants us to pray.
Better to know what you prayed for so that when you get answers to prayers, the Father may be glorified in the Son for answers to prayers per John 14:13-14 as this is the will of God to do is to give thanks to the Father in Jesus's name. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 & Ephesians 5:20 & Colossians 1:3 & Colossians 1:12 & Colossians 3:17
Unless it is interpreted, how can the tongue speaker even know they are giving thanks? That is why the Corinthians tongue speakers were instructed to pray that someone else may interpret that tongue being manifested thru them by the Holy Spirit because otherwise, it would be unfruitful to the tongue speaker until it is interpreted by another. 1 Corinthians 14:13-19
Praying in the devil's tongue prevents knowledge of answers to prayers because they were not verbally known to have been given by the one praying. Believers cannot receive if they had not asked for it, if they rely on "praying in tongues" to do the praying for them, although uninterpreted, they know what is being said.
These are the evidence exposed by scripture for demonic activities in the churches.
If any one wish to avoid the phenomenon, then take Luke 13:24-30 solution by striving thru the straight gate whereby Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is the only way God the Father has provided for us to come to Him by; not by the Holy Spirit & not by the Trinity., but by the Son. Any other way is a work of iniquity per John 10:1 that allows these spirits of the antichrist to come in when the focus is on the Holy Spirit or even the Trinity in worship.
John 5:22 is the standard of judgment by how all believers will be judged and John 5:23 cites that only way to honor the Father is by only honoring the Son. The latter part of verse 23 is why it excludes the worship of the Spirit because when not honoring the son, we are no longer honoring the Father.
Seeing how one brother from India told me that he was honoring the Holy Spirit that Pentecostal Sunday on the calendar & he felt liquid nitrogen seeping through his skull & began confessing against his will an apology to the Holy Spirit is why I believe God permit that phenomenon to occur because he was sinning against the Lord for how to approach God the Father by way of the Holy Spirit instead of the Son in worship when honoring the Father in worship can only be done by honoring the Son in worship.
So ask Jesus for help to honor only Him in worship in order to honor God the Father in hymnals & words & deed because by keeping our eyes on Him, the Bridegroom will be coming soon and you do not want to be caught out to the market seeking to be filled with oil again and again and again, when you had been since you were saved. Ask Him for help to repent & never chase after the "Holy Spirit" again nor go there where that apostasy as in that phenomenon can happen again, especially when the church refuses to narrow the way back to the Son in worship to worship the Father. Ephesians 5:11 & 1 John 1:6 & 2 Corinthians 6:14-18
