We were at first Methodist. In the 1900's began to experience many breakaways....

1. Church of God
2. Assemblies of God
3. Pentecostal Holiness
4. Congregational Holiness
5. Countless independent churches

I was brought up Baptist and knew real well that our denomination was GARBC and Free Will Baptist. Below we have got a fine Baptist church... But... Who are they? If you look though the directory you will see a fine and saintly bunch of folk... But nothing at all promoting a denomination...

In researching AI we find, "Auburn Baptist Church is an Independent Baptist church, as indicated by their sermon archives and listing information."

Leaving the senior pastor as the head of the flock. I am finding this an increasing reality these days in that the senior pastor runs the church. I would want to get to know the senior pastor of any church before making a commitment there. Yes... I have been off topic here. We once had a good senior pastor at out church and you could find 300 in Sunday School. Change the pastor and now we are lucky to see a single car in the parking lot for Sunday School.
