I sincerely wish all would understand God's Dualism of salvation...

Dear Martin I would that you understand what Jesus did for us. We deserved and were bound to eternal everlasting punishment because of our sin. God in his love did not want to do that, but the only way he could be just and freely forgive is by bearing it himself, thus God was punished in our place so that we would not experiance everlasting damnation. And now he calls all who have excepted the free gift to live good and right so that they may be with Jesus when he reigns on the thrown of David.
Most believe that there are temporal consequences for sin now in this life but not temporal consequances for sin in the next life...
even when Jesus repeatedly warns his believers, children, christians about temporal punishment in hell...

May God do a mighty work on the humble

Nice post Helen. But the “encouragement” offered to many is just too much for some at one time. Our encouragement is for the growth in His Word, but so many seem to be “stuck in the mud”. We step over those “mud pits”, and “pot holes” once we believe what Christ revealed from Heaven – “….. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.” We then work out our own salvation, but exhorting others to “Believe on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for their salvation”. No church to join, no gotta’ to this, or gotta’ do that. We are sealed with no way out even if we wished. We are heaven bound.

But we can’t grow unless we allow the Holy Spirit to open up His Word to us. You are growing, I am growing, and I see evidence of some others that are growing. Christian faith, ituttut

Looks like you are on the wrong thread but I will answer anyhow. The answer is simple, the last day is the day spoken of in John 5:28, 29:

28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,
29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

John 12:48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.

so then the last day must be when god deals with the unbleivers... yea?

this day is after the 1000 year reign of Christ Rev. 20

Thats when we are promised to have everlasting life for free according to the two verses I have quoted.

I agree. We all teach everyone we come into contact with about our faith. If we are hypocritical and don't live the faith we are saying that while we might get together with our friends at church two or three times a week Christianity has no real impact on our life and is unimportant. That's bearing false witness.

You are talking about reaping. That is not fruit of either the Spirit or of a tree.

The fruit of the Spirit is what the Spirit brings forth in our lives: love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, self-control

The 'fruit of the tree' spoken of in Matthew 7 refers to the results of any particular kind of teaching.

Both kinds of fruit are inevitable. In Philippians 1:6 we read that God is faithful to finish the work He has begun in us. Some of us are more difficult to work with than others, I think, and so we are told to accept our discipline in Hebrews 12! But those fruits (that fruit) of the Spirit WILL show up more and more in the lives of those who belong to Christ.

The fruit of any teaching is inevitable, too. For all teaching yields some results in some way. Good teaching yields good results and bad teaching yields bad results (which, I might add, is as applicable to school teaching as to doctrinal teaching!).

The fruit of a Christian is not another Christian. We are told that He is the vine and we are the branches. If all we produce are more branches, what good is that? That's an unprofitable vine.

There is more for you to see, which I presented, but you seem not to agree. I said I agreed with Hope of Glory, and I agree with you, but if Christ bears fruit in you, shouldn’t we ask how that came about? Deep down, I don’t believe we are too far apart.

You say “WE” are the “FRUIT OF THAT TREE”, and to that I agree, and I know how it happened. This why I posted to “The fruit of a Christian is not another Christian”. We produce more fruit than we think. From our “lips” as we preach, teach, and witness comes the “TREE OF LIFE”, the Word of God, our Lord Jesus Christ.

I referenced Paul above as planting the seed and Apollo watered to show how NEW branches come about, whether productive or not. I myself take Paul seriously for Paul reveals to us the “mind of Christ”. But we have more scripture and Jesus puts it another way. Matthew 13:22-23, ”He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful. 23. But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.” Christian faith, ituttut

Not all who profess Christ truly are filled with the Holy Ghost. Five virgins were foolish and did not have oil for their lamps (oil here representing the Holy Spirit). They were unspotted from the world, virgins, but they were hoping to be accepted by the groom without having the qualities that Christ is looking for in a believer. That is, the one thing that points one to Christ, that convicts of sin, the Holy Spirit.

There is the fruit of the Spirit which comes out of the very essence of God and is unmistakable when it is manifested and obvious when it is lacking:

God is love.

NKJV 1 Corinthians 13

2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.
