Rock 'n' roll isn't just another form of music---it's an indelible part of the human experience. It may well be the oldest form of cultural expression in human history. It didn't spring up like some Atom Age mutant in the 1950s; it simply shook off the dust of centuries of repression, took on a new incarnation, and picked up where it left off.

Rock music has historically been associated with potential risks, including the promotion of drug and alcohol abuse, sexual promiscuity, misogyny, aggressive behavior, and rebellious, anti-social attitudes.

Critics and some studies suggest links to mental health issues (depression, suicide ideation) in susceptible listeners, occult themes, and physical dangers like concert injuries, alongside moral concerns over lyrical content.

Research has found associations between intensive rock music listening and increased anxiety, depression, and self-harm.

Rock music is a pagan abomination that consecrated believers must reject categorically. The Church has been duped into accepting this vile music.

I detest rap, hip hop, etc.
Yeah, that stuff's not even music, not even rock music!

My view of rock: always 4/4 time, emphasis on the off beat (2nd and 4th; syncopation), heavy bass (usually electric), heavy amplification (loudness), electric guitars (usually solid body, but not always).

The only element of these we can be sure of about Egyptian music in this regard, is that they had varieties of drums that later Israelite music did not have.

The Israelites, under the leadership of Aaron, didn’t come up with something new. They went back to the ways of the world in Egypt.
They didn’t just go off on a tangent. They went back to where they had been called out of.

We have to go by what the people who have originated it and popularized it say it is. They are the ones who should know.
Okay, so do you have any quotes on their definition? What would it be? The way I described rock music is based on the little book by musician Frank Garlock (father of "Patch the Pirate's" wife; he is now in Heaven), The Big Beat, a Rock Blast.

My point in saying that we have to go by what they say was not to say that I disagree with you about what you said it was. I was only making the point that Christians are not the ones who are obligated to define things originated by evil people.

Dr. Garlock was an expert on music and a very godly man. He knew what he was talking about. and based his understanding on what the originators of rock music themselves said.
