Did anyone ever encourage you, or similarly discourage you, and change your life?

I had one seminary Professor when I was 31, say that I understood the things he was teaching. It was encouragement that stayed with me for many, many years. I had studied exceedingly hard for an exam and did very well. Those few words were powerful to my faith and life.

A few. One seminary professor who invited me to enroll in a post Graduate Church History degree (my study was theology but he reached out to me because of a thesis I had submitted as a graduate student). I couldn't take the time, but I'd have loved to continued.

Another was a Dallas Seminary professor. We taught together and became friends.

Probably the one who influenced me the most was my father. He died when I was in my early 20's.
