Christ expulses the money changers out of the temple by Cecco del Caravaggio

There is a message there for the Church of today. God tells us:

Malachi 3:6 For I am the LORD, I change not;

Look at the money changers on TV, especially TBN, asking the masses for "seed faith money"!

That is one {of several} passages of Scripture that I cannot really understand. I don't even like Gill's interpretation though he may be correct.

The Roman Catholic Church during the years of the Holy Roman Empire and the dark/middle ages took verse 23 literally and look what resulted.
It does present difficulties but Jesus in this context once again is scolding the pharisees for their hardness of heart.

They believed that riches and robust health were signs from God that they were acceptable in His sight and were citizens of the Kingdom of God on earth.

On the other hand they felt that poverty and sickness were signs of a curse from God and so they looked down in judgment upon the common people who had an abundance of these afflictions.

So Jesus may be letting them know in advance that these common folk (as well as the "cursed" gentiles (dogs)) are about to be invited freely into the Kingdom of God regardless of wealth, health, race etc...
